Millie named her new home 'Ballara' in memory of her home town.A feature of the house is its ornate ceilings, and story has it that visitors came from afar especially to view them.William ran a wheat agency from an office on the front verandah and was also a contact for World War 1 recruitment.In 1927, William sadly died at only 50 years of age, leaving Millie on her own with their 5 children Doreen, Dulcie, William jr. Nice rolling hills to camp on, there are few flat spots and some on a slight slope. Plenty of space. Nothing significantly pretty about the place, but still nice countryside views. Area was tidy and mowed. Good amount of firewood for $25

I had a great stay and thank you to Russell and Alison for being so positive in opening up their property to motorcycle camping. I found a great spot to pitch my tent and it was nice to sit back and enjoy the afternoon, as well as the colour changes with the setting sun.

Our host was lovely and welcoming and the campsite was perfect. A lovely outlook of trees and open farmland. Peaceful with only the sounds of sheep and birds for company. We’ll definitely be keeping this one on our list of stays in future.

Great spot to stay off grid with 6-7 individual sites on the property. Some sites are close enough together that you could stay with a group but still have your own space. Only one other caravan there when we stayed so we were very secluded and couldn’t see them directly from our site. Good size long drop toilet area with motion lighting for night use. Very clean. Hosts were friendly though we rarely saw them. $25 for a decent size container of firewood delivered to our site seemed pretty reasonable. It’s a natural area, so the sites have a small slope and you might need some extra caravan levellers pending your setup and site. Easy drive to Clare and Burra. Our dogs loved the property’s dam! Our favourite Hip Camp so far. 😊

Was an awesome camp spot not far from Wallaroo. Stayed on a clear sunny day so the sunset was unreal. The views from the site up on the hill over the bay and gulf were amazing. Recommend bringing some levelling boards especially if your in a rooftop tent but this is a minor inconvenience when you see the view from your tent in the morning

We took a group of friends here for their first camping experience. Lots of space, and the amenities (toilet, hot showers, communal kitchen) helped ease them in to the camping lifestyle. David and Michelle were such great and welcoming hosts and were very easy to communicate with. We definitely will come back and highly recommend this campsite

Fantastic camping spot ! First time here and would recommend to anyone. We really enjoyed our time amongst nature and beauty of the place.. it was peaceful and serene. We also enjoyed time in front of the fire at night. Lots of space to explore during the day, and we were grateful for the pit toilet. Thanks Russell and Alison for your beautiful place!
