My daughter, son and I loved our stay in Cane’s Cabin. Very comfortable beds and well equipped. My older son, wife and children were camped on the Ferdinand site. It was a great family trip. The animals on the property were amazing and very entertaining. Chrissy and Duane went out of their way to give my 3yo grandson a farm experience. Loved all of the rustic touches. We are very grateful to Chrissy and Duane for opening up their paradise.

We absolutely loved our whole experience at Gumtree Dam Highlands. Chrissy and Duane were so friendly and accomodating, we felt right at home. There was so much to do during our stay, the kids had the best time with all the animals and riding around on the bikes that were there. The property is clean and tidy and well maintained and waking up to highland cows right out the front of the cabin was an amazing experience. We got to brush and hand feed the highlands!

Weekend Trip to Fig Tree Camp

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful campsite, and it was an unforgettable experience. The cabin was cozy and well-maintained, offering a perfect blend of comfort and rustic charm. The view from the cabin was simply breathtaking, providing a serene backdrop for a truly relaxing stay. The host Colin and Katrina were amazing, going above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Their hospitality made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. One of the highlights of our stay was the variety of animals on the property. We enjoyed interacting with their horse, geese, chickens, goats and even cute piglets and of course their playful dog! It was a delightful experience. Being off grid, the campsite offered a unique opportunity to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and reconnect with nature. The facilities were with a short walk from the cabin, clean toilets and showers that added to the overall comfort of our stay. Overall, this campsite provided a perfect escape, combining natural beauty, excellent amenities, and outstanding hospitality. Highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy a peaceful retreat. P.S. if you are into fossicking, you can enjoy the gold mines.

My dreams finally came true and I got to visit these little beauties, my favourite little grass puppies, even hubby is hooked & now see's how cute/cool they are. Seriously brushing cows is very therapeutic & so is just sitting watching each of there cheeky personalities. We will be back camping for sure very soon. My heart is full for now. We absolutely loved our family stay in Cane's cabin, Chrissy & Duane are amazing host.

Great location and only a short walk to the beach. Everything provided no need to pack extras as all linen, body wash, shampoo and even dog shampoo, all detergents washing powder bin liners are all provided including a dishwasher and a gas bbq with gas bottles. Pizza oven was a great addition. Would highly recommend

I stayed in Canes Cabin with my 3yo daughter, it was fantastic. Duane and Chrissy are great hosts and where amazing with my daughter showing her all the animals at feeding time. Very relaxing stay. Will definitely be going back again.

My daughter's and I stayed in Cane's cabin. It was well equipped and close to the cute horse float shower and toilet. There's also a bbq for you to use, so when they say just pack food, this is all you'll need. We loved the up close encounter with the farm animals ❤️ goats, sheep, guinea pigs, ducks, a really sweet chicken who loved cuddles and of course the coo's!! Duane and Chrissy were easy going and welcoming. Showing the kids around and asking them to come along to do the early morning feeding as the kids couldn't wait to get started for the day and were up early. The girls caught tadpoles and got dirty and had no screen time the whole weekend. Very relaxing and great to connect with nature and each other. Highly recommend this hipcamp!

We had such a fantastic stay at Gumtree Dam Highlands. Kane’s cottage was perfect for a few nights away and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was spotless and the air conditioning went down a treat in the 40degree temps. We all loved being amongst the animals and our hosts couldn’t have done more to make our stay more perfect. Can’t wait to go back!

5 nights at Beach Shed

We had the best family holiday at the Beach Shed! Sarah and Grant have thought of everything here! It was so nice and private, amazing beach access, close to the boat ramp and set up perfectly for our large family! (The big outdoor table, bbq and festoon lights with the outdoor TV was our favourite space to hangout and play games and eat all the mud crabs we caught!) We did have a bit of a heatwave during our stay so we didn’t try out the pizza oven unfortunately, but we’ll be back for sure! Thanks Sarah and Grant for sharing your place! It’s pretty special!

Midskinrick is a 40-acre waterfront property on Baffle Creek in Queensland. 70km north of Bundaberg, 125km south of Gladstone. This little piece of paradise, on the southern bank of Baffle Creek, is a great place to fish from the bank or launch your boat, crab, swim (in our dam), relax and enjoy the peace while watching the wildlife. Choose the unique modern self-contained Lodge or bring your caravan/camper/rooftop/swag/tent and book a camp site. There are 10 large family sized powered sites with a firepit available for each site (no water connection) situated near the dam. Access to, Hot showers (Small fee applies), Flushing toilets, Washing Machine (Small fee per load) and a Camp kitchen. The powered sites are approximately 400m from the riverbank. Confirming there are no water connections to these sites, please fill your tanks prior to coming, however; fresh water is available for drinking. Select Powered. For the adventurous campers who use swags/tents, we suggest a stretcher and a gazebo with walls for a little comfort. Some areas need 4wd also. Check in is after 1pm and check out is strictly before 10.30am, we promise you will get your 'Heilen Coo' fix 😝 We have Souvineers and firewood please bring cash 😍 Be mindful around all animals as they get to know you, be smart please. Kids can bring bikes, must be supervised at all times, no screaming or running. Pets are welcome, we have 2 dogs Jesse and Cane, who are both very friendly. Our Maremma is an Italian breed of livestock gaurdian dog, he does bark a little at night to protect our pets, which goes hand in hand with all of our other farm noises 😉 Our Neighbours have fish farms, you may hear the odd gun go off, just to scare the shags away from feeding in the ponds. It's totally safe. Feel free to put on some music and have a few drinks by the campfire, but we want our farm to be a place where our animals and our guests feel safe and relaxed, so we do not accommodate noisy parties. Relax and unwind with a book or go for a bush walk and listen to the kookaburras. Watch Sea Eagles, pelican, wild budgies, rainbow lorikeet and more. All your cares will feel like they are a million miles away as you soak up nature, we guarantee you will have an amazing experience. 6 Kms in at our historic Childers there is a Woolworths, IGA, great pubs for lunch, cafes and bakeries, plus a swimming pool, museum, snakes down under and Woodgate beach 25 mins away.
