"Innisfree" is a rural property dedicated to permaculture principles and introspective meditation/nature time. We are in the Kurrajong region, located 75 km from Sydney, to the west of the Hawkesbury River on the lower slopes of the Blue Mountains. ​ The region offers lots of great places to go bushwalking, mountain bike riding, canyoning and abseiling in the Blue Mountain and Wollemi National Parks or canoeing on the Hawkesbury or Grose River. Our camping offering is currently only available to those attending our courses. It is not available to the general public at this time. We invite course attendees to camp, check out the farm and connect with nature during your stay. The campsite has a flush toilet and hot shower. We allow campfires but they must only be lit in the designated areas.

Caravans and RV's that are fully self contained eg: has a toilet are welcome. Sorry no tents. If you could please let us know your ETA that would be very much appreciated. We are only 10-15 mins to Nelson Bay centre. Beaches are just down the road also which includes Birubi Beach which goes all the way to Stockton and many more near by. Right next door is Murrays Brewery and Sunset in the Vines, very handy to be able to walk next door (a really short walk) and have dinner and a drink. Shark and Ray Centre is 10 mins drive also and then there is the Butterfly House and Shark and Ray Rescue Centre just behind us on Marsh Road. Whilst we offer a space on our front area next to the dam, it is only a small area but plenty of room for a large van or RV with room to put out your awning provided you park where we suggest. We supply a fire pit and wood if you would like, please let us know on arrival or before you arrive so we can have it ready, (this in not an extra it is included in the price). We can offer electricity for an extra cost of $10 per night if needed. The main house is at the top of the circular drive way, you will be camping (Approx 50 m from the house). Pictures show this. We endeavour to appreciate your privacy as much as possible.

The camping area is surrounded by untouched rainforest, perfect for wandering and exploring the rock pools. Whether you’re into the excitement of off-roading or just want a place to escape, this little slice of paradise has something for everyone. All campers need to be self-contained, so please ensure you bring along your camp toilet, and take all waste when you go. Well-behaved four-legged friends welcome also! With the nearest country villages of Paxton and Ellalong just 15 minutes up the road, with their cafes, local pub and general store, you can grab supplies nearby. Or, head into Cessnock, 20km up the dirt road for more essential services. **Please note that the creek and waterhole pictured are reliant on the weather. During drought or extended dry periods the water level may be lower than pictured. Please message for the latest updates. UPDATE 18TH SEPTEMBER 2024: JUST A HEADS UP THE THE MAIN WATERHOLE IS CURRENTLY FULL, BUT WATER IS NOW RUNNING UNDER THE CREEK BED. Welcome! Lovely to see you here. Our property is located in Arcadia, just 45 minutes from Sydney CBD. The campsite is located on the high side of the property that looks over into the valley & has stunning views of the Berowra National Park. There is a multitude of walking, hiking and mountain bike trails. There are also many nearby horse riding trails. The property backs on to Calabash Creek which is like a rain Forrest once you get down to the valley floor. Berowra waters is near by, whereby many fishing, canoeing, boating activities are available, coupled with some great cafes/restaurants. Campfires are allowed as long as there are no restrictions in place and they are supervised. Pets are welcome and can be off leash, however are the responsibility of their human parents. The property has ample room to accommodate larger groups that might want to hold milestone celebrations such as Birthday parties, whereby all sites will be closed to accommodate such events. Recently Calabash Haven hosted a party of 50 people for 50th Bday celebration. Feel free to inquire to see if we can accommodate your needs. Campers must be self contained with their own camping toilet and take all waste with them on departure.

This cute off grid original pop-top retro caravan is available on the bank of the Colo River @ DeView Colo River Campground with shared private river access only metres away. This little beauty is simple, with character. For singles or couples. Kayaks can be hired and paddling the Colo River a must! An amazing place to watch and listen to the wildlife and take in the stars with so much more to discover. Caravan is equipped with: * a small solar setup to power some lights and USB chargers. * Kitchenette * Double bed (and optional fold down single bed) * Gas Fridge * 2 Burner gas stove * Fire pit A short walk away there are flushing toilets and an awesome hot water shower. No power available on site. No generators or loud music/behavior so you can fully appreciate nature. There is no mobile reception or internet access therefore provides the true off-grid retreat. Telstra towers are 5km up and down the road with all mobile reception approx 10km back towards town. There is a fire pit available for use subject to RFS bush fire danger ratings on the day. Firewood is available to purchase at $30 per BIG bag!! ALL WASTE is to leave with you as we do not have a rubbish pick up. A double kayak is available for hire at $70 or stand-up paddle boards at $40 each both for 4 hours. We are happy to help transport you if you wish for an extra $20 to have a paddle or float down the river providing the river is high enough to do so. Guided Kayak Tour available with drinks and nibblies for $120/person with Lovie There are local bush walks through National Parks and great places for mountain bike riding although I'd be mindful of holiday traffic in peak times on our local dirt roads. Guided spotlight walk $20 per person, talk to Lovie. The local shop, Colo Riverside is open 4 days a week just 10kms up the road providing last minute supplies, ice, bottle shop and cafÊ. Please note: Due to our location bookings may be cancelled at short notice in times of bad weather due to flooding, limited access, fire or flood warnings. We trust you will understand we are only looking out for your safety and of course Hipcamp credits will be arranged.

Our property contains the first road in and out of Colo - the original road is supported by hand built dry rock walls some of which are over 3 m high. Often referred to as convict built, but more likely built by freemen who were former convicts.  The property housed the load master's residence who controlled the cargo boats that docked to collect the valley’s produce. This was then transported back down the Colo River which flows into the Hawkesbury river and leads to Broken Bay following the coastline down to Old Sydney Town. The beach diagonally across the river was landed upon by members of the First Fleet’s exploratory scouting party on the lookout for quality farm land - some of which is still in production today.  Our property is on the uppermost reach of freshwater but with tidal influence. This deep water allows swimming and canoeing all year round. Our property is adjacent to the only council built canoe launching facilities on the Colo River.

Some of our campsites DO NOT come with facilities. Please read your site description carefully. We have 1 powered site that is power ONLY . No toilets, showers, kitchen or pool. You need to be fully self contained. Some Campsites are in our lovely small manicured bush garden setting. It's a level, grass/lawn shaded area. There are 4x 15 amp powered sites. Suitable for small quiet groups/ families. Not suitable for loud partying. The state forest is a short 10min drive away for bush walking, mountain biking and 4 wheel driving. Beach is 40 min drive away. We are located close to the Central Coast and Newcastle. (In Cooranbong ) Some of our camp sites have access to three eco toilets and only one shared shower, rubbish facilities and drinking water. (Campfires) we have 5 fire pits on some of our sites , fires are permitted during the winter months. We also have 2 x 4 star cabins which sleep 15 between them, they are listed separately on Hipcamp. However the guests from both the camp sites and the cabins have shared access to the pool and facilities. Which includes a large under cover patio area. FRIENDLY PETS welcome. On certain camp sites ourSmall kitchen with microwave dishwasher and cook top and fridge may be used . Please just clean up any mess you make. For the next guest All cleaning products under sink. WE HAVE 2 DOGS that are people friendly., who love to meet new fury friends , they do have the run of our property . As our property has a lot of maintenance lawns /gardens ; we may use mowers blowers etc , we will possibly maintain between 10 am to 2 pm If needed.

Noonameena is a beautiful retreat that feels secluded from the world, yet is just a stones throw from shops, beach, good food and parklands. We offer a number of grassy, level sites, some with shade, others with sun, all with bushland to the rear. There is also a pond/dam area, and lots of wildlife. We have a fire pit for communal use. The kangaroos will come and visit you early in the morning, and in the evening. You will also see lots of different parrots and birds. We even have goannas and echidnas about and the black cockatoos will come in for a visit. You will need to bring your own camp toilet, as we don't have facilities here. Pets are welcome but please keep them on a lead at all times as we have lots of wildlife around! Please note, when we have heavy rain, the ground can get boggy. We are very mindful to keep tabs on the weather for our guests, and will be in good communication with you in the lead up to your stay should we suspect there to be any issues. Whilst camping by the beautiful dam is lovely in fine weather, when it's raining, it’s best to camp towards the front of the property on higher ground. We'll advise the best solution in these circumstances. LET US KNOW about your preferred booking even if it appears booked out, as we can probably make it work or have ALTERNATIVE solutions for you!

There is an abundance of native birds and wildlife including wombats, wallabies, reptiles etc. on the property as well as free range chickens. Just 4km from camp (easy cycling distance) you can find the Historic Wisemans Ferry Pub, the Bowling Club, a cafe, church, tennis courts, new boat ramp, petrol station, and Friendly Grocer. Each site has space for one vehicle and caravan/tent. There is 1 shared toilet with basin for all campers to use. Please bring own water for drinking and cooking. Fires are only allowed in the fire pit (Seasonal). Total fire ban is in effect. No fires or charcoal beads. Gas cooking only.
