Thredbo-Perisher area
This area has three mountain resorts: Thredbo, Perisher, and Charlotte Pass. Skiing, snowshoeing, and ice climbing take over in winter, and alpine hikes, mountain biking, and historic sightseeing reign supreme in spring, summer, and fall. When to go
July and August have the best snowpack in Thredbo. When spring arrives in November, colourful wildflowers and fresh foliage transform the snowy landscape. Combined with slightly cooler temperatures, it’s a great season for hiking, biking, and sightseeing. The hotter summer weather makes that a prime time for getting soaked from head to toe on a whitewater-rafting tour or lounging on a lilo in the Snowy River. As autumn approaches and the temperatures cool off again, anglers can cast rods for the last time before the cold sets in.
