Escape to The Farm Shed — a near new, air-conditioned two-bedroom guest house tucked into an established country garden on our working farm, just minutes from Tamworth, Australia's Country Music Capital.
Set apart from our 100-year-old homestead with its own private entrance and parking, the Farm Shed enjoys a peaceful north-easterly aspect and lovely garden views. The main bedroom has a king bed and large built-in wardrobe; the second has two single beds. The fully self-contained kitchen is well-appointed with an electric stove, gas cooktop, large fridge, microwave and coffee machine. WiFi and a smart TV are included.
We offer a complimentary breakfast of bread, preserves, fruit, cereals, tea and coffee — please let us know after booking if you'd like this, as we prepare it in advance.
You're only a six-minute drive from AELEC and TREC, so you couldn't be closer to the action. Back at the farm, guests are welcome to walk the property and enjoy our pool (shared respectfully with the main house, in consultation with the owners). Our four working dogs and two house dogs are all very friendly and love to say hello.
This is a working farm — please be mindful of cattle and horses when exploring. We have unfenced dams and troughs, so children must be supervised at all times.
HORSES: Safe post-and-rail paddocks may be available for horse owners at additional cost and at owner's risk. Contact Kirstie directly to arrange.
The guest laundry is shared with the homestead but has separate access from the back verandah — just a short walk from the Farm Shed.

Honestly, I can’t even remember the last time I spent so long just watching the stars at night and feeling completely relaxed. It was such a special experience.
Everything about our stay was lovely - it was by far the nicest place we came across and the perfect spot for some peace and quiet compared to others we’ve seen around the area.

Amazing spot just far enough outside Tamworth. This is an absolute gem with new bathrooms with showers. Pool for cooling down and lots of space. We slept very soundly as it is peaceful here in the evenings. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a great spot within an easy drive to Tamworth. Great hosts who have put so much effort into every little detail.

I had the most magical time away at the Oakenville Farm Bell Tent. What a blissful adventure. From the beautiful Birdlife to the quirky chickens every part of my stay here felt like a home away from home. The lovely Rachel could not have been a more hospitable host, she was always around if you needed a hand or just a good old chat (which I definitely loved to do😂). The best way to spend the long weekend and get away to totally switch off.
The tent was beautiful, comfortable and spacious, filled with plenty of blankets and a small heater to stay warm during the cold nights. I highly recommend this beautiful location to anyone who wishes to get away without having to organise anything except food and transport.
Thank you so much to the beautiful people I met along the way on this peaceful adventure. It's definitely one I will cherish ❤️✨

Rachel was very friendly and helpful.Loved our little getaway.Bed was comfortable and plenty of blankets to keep us warm .Bath and shower were charming with plenty of hot water.Kitchen basic but that was fine for us to cook breakfast.Only a 1km walk to pub for dinner and out and about for lunch.Did not use camp fire but there was plenty of wood available.Maybe take your camp esky to store your food and drinks..Dont forget to try the donuts up the Main Street.

Amazing stay for our family of 2 adults and 2 kids. The Bell tent was great !!!! We loved the space, the property is quiet and well spread out. There were some Tent campers at one end of the property; which didn't bother us at all; as they where quite a good distance away. Can thank the host enough; he was very helpful and friendly. What an amazing experience! Full of rustic charm the site has all amenities- cooking area, flushing loo, bath, shower and the most comfortable double bed in a spacious yet very cosy tent with deck area for dining and enjoying the glorious views in the day and star gaze by night.
The site is in walking distance to Nundle with its quaint shops, cafes and pub, a short drive to Hanging Rock and its various forest walks and Sheba Dams for a refreshing dip. A great place to enjoy nature and perfect for birdwatching and wild life spotting!
Rachel & Gibbo were perfect hosts, giving me plenty of privacy and I was honoured to have the company of Laddy and Fonz, 2 chilled out friendly dogs, for a daytime play and an evening snuggle!
I would highly recommend the Bell Tent for an escape from the hassles of the modern world!

Great spot to enjoy the Tamworth Country Music Festival. It’s a pretty quick drive (speed checks were present every day of my stay) .
Very clean restrooms and a gorgeous view of the country side. Safe parking and an oasis on the quieter side of the music festival.
