This is not a place for parties and loud noise, but if you want to get away from it all and relax in a secluded Campsite surrounded by beautiful Native Bushland or explore miles of trails, gullies, caves, Flight Springs Creek and the exquisite Bow River, take some time to camp at Hillside, which is a remote 2000 acre working cattle property situated 23km west of MERRIWA, 17 km off the Golden Highway, adjoining the Goulburn River National Park. Most sites are in secluded area's far away from each other but at busy times people may pass by some sites to access the river. There are plenty of walking trails and for the enthusiastic bushwalker, the Bow River winds its way 7km down to the Goulburn River through the National Park with its gentle flowing stream and rock pools nestled between sandstone cliffs of caves. All sites are pet friendly, but pets must be kept on leash and cleaned up after. Campfires are allowed when there are no restrictions. Cut firewood is available on request $20 lots, cash only. 4WD and High vehicles are recommended as tracks have rocky outcrops and some areas of loose sand. Some sites can be accessed by 2WD. The Bow River area is strictly 4WD (Low Range) access ONLY as it is extremely steep with loose gravel and rocky outcrops. AWD (All wheel drive) vehicles will not get back out. For all 4WD areas please let your Tyres down to 25psi to help conserve our tracks. Outback 4WD tracks are now open for campers to explore as well as Hidden Valley. All sites have toilets, but guests will need their own shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. Phone Service is very limited in this area. Road access to site is suitable for 2WD in dry weather. It is a short, steep drop with two tight corners not suitable for large caravans and RVs. The site has a newly constructed long drop toilet, pets are allowed and bring your own firewood to ensure you have enough as it's becoming scarce around the site. Please take all rubbish with you. Please note: Kids under 12 are free to support young families wanting to experience the bush. Please still add them to the booking as they will not be charged. What is not allowed: shooters and trappers, illegal fishing, motor bikes, quad bikes and other noisy machines! Killongbutta Road runs off Freemantle Road and is 36 kms from Bathurst. It is 40 kilometres from Orange through Gowan Road that joins Lower Lewis Ponds Road. For your information, On the Stone is a podcast and publishing studio that produces a quarterly magazine for the Freemantle Road community. We have local history to share and can always provide information about our services. The Wollemi Art Farm is a 100 acre block surround by national park - so your only neighbours are trees and animals. We are only 2 kilometres from the stunning Dunns Swamp. We have several camping areas, which range from intimate to spacious, and can host up to 190 people - if you want to book out the whole place (weddings, parties, small festivals)! Walks: -Look out for the twin cairns on the north side of the public road, about 100m before you get to the main camping area. Follow the trail to the Summit. -You can also follow the private road up the hill past the main house (turn right off the public road as if you are going to the Spring campsite, then walk past the 'no tresspassing sign' - you are not tresspassing if you are a guest!). Follow this road for a few hundred metres until you see the rocky outcrop towards your right (the 'Souther Heights'). A sign points the way to a cleft that you can ascend. Two cairns mark this spot. Follow the rocky ridge up for several hundred metres. It's a fine adventure. Runs. I'm a keen distance runner. I have a range of runs mapped out. These include a 10km loop, longer runs up to 20kms, various reps, and more. The WAF is perfect for your running group getaway.

We do not have local shops or fuel stations. The London bus is suitable for children as the upper deck houses the bedroom. The lower deck houses the kitchen and bathroom with a front deck complete with barbecue and amazing views. Relax and watch the kangaroos and eagles from your private deck. Summer swimming in the crystal clear river and winter camp fires where you can toast marshmallows. The lower level has a cooktop "no oven or fridge share fridge at entrance of park", outside gas BBQ and tables. You will need to bring your own drinking water. There is a toilet and shower downstairs. The top deck has two small single beds and one double, quilts and pillows however BYO linen sheets and towels. This bus has featured on many TV shows and is often featured in travel magazines, including on Better Homes and Gardens television in 2013 and in many magazines shoots. No pets please. once again no pets including dogs.

Natural bushland consisting of 80 acres with the Crudine River along the boundary. We are part of the Sofala gold rush history (from the 1850s), sit back and imagine gold miners and their families camped along the banks. There are two campsites, Camp Crudine Kitchen and Camp Crudine Riverside. When you make your booking whether for 2 people or a group of family and friends the chosen campsite is all yours for the length of your stay. If you need supplies Sofala is just 8 km away, drop in and explore the town. Hill End is 28 km which is another Historic town to explore. Camp Crudine is great for kids and adults alike to have a go at panning for gold or try out the metal detector. All findings must be returned to the host, lol. Campfires must comply with the local fire restrictions and guideline and must be contained in the fire pits provided. Bonfires are not permitted at any time. We recommend campers bring their own firewood as campers are requested to source only small amounts of firewood along the riverbank. Under no circumstances are trees to be cut down. Firewood is available at the Sofala General Store. Campers are required to bring everything they need and take all rubbish when leaving. Dogs are welcome but they must be supervised and under control at all times. The owner has livestock on the property which must be respected at all times.

The country varies between undulating and steep land and has 7 km of double frontage Bell River running through it. The river can range from rapidly flowing to the more usual steady flowing and is most often very clear. The river has numerous swimming spots, some with a rocky base, and some with sand. The winding river and the varying countryside is incredibly peaceful and beautiful and is a perfect retreat for those looking to disconnect and relax. The river has its origin near Orange and is also fed into by many springs. Weandre Creek runs in the backcountry and winds into the Bell River. Our comfortable Hut is situated on an elevated spot looking down on the river with a graduated road leading down. It has everything you need for a relaxing, recharging stay in nature. The Hut can accommodate up to 4 people, however, you also have the option for up to 6 additional guests to set up swags, tents, or a camper trailer nearby. There is space next to the Hut, or for those with a 4WD, there are some lovely camping sites down by the river. We also offer sites for those looking for a self-contained camping site, in a beautiful location. We love the solitude, the endless bush walks, swimming, and being immersed in nature. We are confident you will too. We also have a lovely art gallery on the property, and for a small fee and prior arrangement, you are welcome to come and take a look. From our farm, it is 60 km to Orange with all its wineries, food festivals, and many attractions. Wellington is 40 km and boasts the Wellington Caves. Dubbo is 90 km and is a big inland city and boasts the Western Plains Zoo. We are so glad to let you know we have a new (but intentionally rustic) structure which houses a shower powered by gas and solar with gravity fed water. Showers need to be short because water supply is limited. In a separate space is a gas BBQ and sink. This is pictured in our latest photos. This building also looks down on the Bell river which looks sensational at the moment due to all the rain.

In the early 1970’s Mr James, the owner of 'Biara', subdivided three 25 acre blocks across the road from the original homestead. The first block was sold to his nephew, the middle block was to be purchased by the Preston family and ‘The Gateway’ was purchased by a Mr Carveth. Unfortunately, the sale of the middle block fell through then, due to family illness, 'Biara' was sold and the family moved to Blackheath. After this move, and as thank you to his son, Mr James transferred the title of the middle of the three subdivided blocks to his only son, William. Back in the late 1960’s, early 1970’s, the area was vastly different than it is today. Travelling to school entailed a car trip to Hargraves then bus to Mudgee which would have been a 2 hour round trip! The area was far more isolated as there was no power and entailed an overland phone line, which had to be regularly repaired if residents wanted to be able to communicate with the outside world. The site allows mainly for camping and relaxing although there are numerous dirt roads to explore, Mudgee wineries close by and Burrendong Dam not far away (accessible via Hill End Road near Erudgere). Hargraves is also known for it's alluvial gold deposits and fossickers still go there regularly to check out Louisa Creek. There is 15km's of dirt road which needs to be traveled to reach the property. Dependent on weather, and if it has been graded recently, this road can be in varying states of repair. In heavy rain it may be difficult to get 2WD access via the public road due to the clay content in the road . Kangaroo, wallaby, owl species, kookaburra, echidna, snakes, various lizards, including shinglebacks, are often seen on these roads and the property.

All areas have expansive rural views. We offer a basic bush site for self-contained campers and a fully-contained caravan. At Bushman's Camp we welcome self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower, and drinking water. You must have your own amenities. Campsites are accessible for 2WDs and we welcoming camping vehicles. You may need to level your vehicle for a comfortable night’s sleep. There are a few options for camping. The land is undulating with flat spots, with open grassy areas peppered with gum trees. Other parts are more heavily wooded with gums and natives. Our caravan comes complete with water, electricity, toilet, 2 double beds, dining area and kitchen. The caravan can sleep 4 guests. Next to the caravan there is room for a further tent, van, trailer or motorhome if desired, for a $35 flat fee. Please add extra guests when booking. Outside the caravan, there is a beautiful sandstone ringed fire pit, BBQ, covered picnic tables, chairs, lighting and some firewood available. You will need to bring your own bed linen and towels. Campfires are permitted at all our listings when not in fireban season so bring your marshmallows! There are lovely views of the valleys and mountains beyond, and you’ll really enjoy the sunsets. No pets please.

We are Marilyn and Peter, we own, live and run a mixed farming business from this beautiful land, located in the Central Tablelands NSW. The country varies between undulating and steep land and has 7 km of double frontage Bell River running through it. The river can range from rapidly flowing to the more usual steady flowing and is most often very clear. The river has numerous swimming spots, some with a rocky base, and some with sand. The winding river and the varying countryside is incredibly peaceful and beautiful and is a perfect retreat for those looking to disconnect and relax. The river has its origin near Orange and is also fed into by many springs. Weandre Creek runs in the backcountry and winds into the Bell River. Our comfortable Hut is situated on an elevated spot looking down on the river with a graduated road leading down. It has everything you need for a relaxing, recharging stay in nature. The Hut can accommodate up to 4 people, however, you also have the option for up to 6 additional guests to set up swags, tents, or a camper trailer nearby. There is space next to the Hut, or for those with a 4WD, there are some lovely camping sites down by the river. We also offer sites for those looking for a self-contained camping site, in a beautiful location. We love the solitude, the endless bush walks, swimming, and being immersed in nature. We are confident you will too. We also have a lovely art gallery on the property, and for a small fee and prior arrangement, you are welcome to come and take a look. From our farm, it is 60 km to Orange with all its wineries, food festivals, and many attractions. Wellington is 40 km and boasts the Wellington Caves. Dubbo is 90 km and is a big inland city and boasts the Western Plains Zoo. We are so glad to let you know we have a new (but intentionally rustic) structure which houses a shower powered by gas and solar with gravity fed water. Showers need to be short because water supply is limited. In a separate space is a gas BBQ and sink. This is pictured in our latest photos. This building also looks down on the Bell river which looks sensational at the moment due to all the rain.

In the early 1970’s Mr James, the owner of 'Biara', subdivided three 25 acre blocks across the road from the original homestead. The first block was sold to his nephew, the middle block was to be purchased by the Preston family and ‘The Gateway’ was purchased by a Mr Carveth. Unfortunately, the sale of the middle block fell through then, due to family illness, 'Biara' was sold and the family moved to Blackheath. After this move, and as thank you to his son, Mr James transferred the title of the middle of the three subdivided blocks to his only son, William. Back in the late 1960’s, early 1970’s, the area was vastly different than it is today. Travelling to school entailed a car trip to Hargraves then bus to Mudgee which would have been a 2 hour round trip! The area was far more isolated as there was no power and entailed an overland phone line, which had to be regularly repaired if residents wanted to be able to communicate with the outside world. The site allows mainly for camping and relaxing although there are numerous dirt roads to explore, Mudgee wineries close by and Burrendong Dam not far away (accessible via Hill End Road near Erudgere). Hargraves is also known for it's alluvial gold deposits and fossickers still go there regularly to check out Louisa Creek. There is 15km's of dirt road which needs to be traveled to reach the property. Dependent on weather, and if it has been graded recently, this road can be in varying states of repair. In heavy rain it may be difficult to get 2WD access via the public road due to the clay content in the road . Kangaroo, wallaby, owl species, kookaburra, echidna, snakes, various lizards, including shinglebacks, are often seen on these roads and the property.

Then property is set 600 metres back from a quiet rural road, accessed via a gravel driveway. It is nestled at the foot of Mount Knowles, and includes over 300 acres of bushland in addition to approx 30 acres of formal gardens and mown paddocks, one of which has a pretty dam. All areas have expansive rural views. We offer a basic bush site for self-contained campers and a fully-contained caravan. At Bushman's Camp we welcome self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower, and drinking water. You must have your own amenities. Campsites are accessible for 2WDs and we welcoming camping vehicles. You may need to level your vehicle for a comfortable night’s sleep. There are a few options for camping. The land is undulating with flat spots, with open grassy areas peppered with gum trees. Other parts are more heavily wooded with gums and natives. Our caravan comes complete with water, electricity, toilet, 2 double beds, dining area and kitchen. The caravan can sleep 4 guests. Next to the caravan there is room for a further tent, van, trailer or motorhome if desired, for a $35 flat fee. Please add extra guests when booking. Outside the caravan, there is a beautiful sandstone ringed fire pit, BBQ, covered picnic tables, chairs, lighting and some firewood available. You will need to bring your own bed linen and towels. Campfires are permitted at all our listings when not in fireban season so bring your marshmallows! There are lovely views of the valleys and mountains beyond, and you’ll really enjoy the sunsets. No pets please.

Clear directions were provided to the property, and David met us on arrival, showed us to our site, and took the time to talk us through things to do in the area. The property is huge, with plenty of walking trails and 4WD tracks to keep you occupied. All campsites are very well spaced, giving a great sense of privacy. Sites are flat, spacious, and private, and the portaloo toilets at each site were clean and well maintained. The location is ideal — right on the doorstep of the national park and only a short drive to town if you need supplies or feel like grabbing a pie. We’ll definitely be back.

Great bush camping with the added bonus of a toilet. Nice to cool off with a swim in the river which the dog absolutely loved. Dave was an awesome host and was super chill. He met me at the front gate and showed me to the campground. Dave also gave me a run down of the property and stopped by later to make sure everything thing was ok. Will definitely be back with the rest of the family. Great spot!

Dave is a wonderful host who has clearly put in a lot of thought and effort in creating a lovely bush camping heaven. Unfortunately the weather gods were not so kind on this visit and tried to roast us alive, but hopefully we can return and explore the walks and 4wd tracks properly. Lots of wildlife and a beautiful river plus the convenience of a loo at each well spaced out campsite.

We had a very lovely stay at Turon Gates. The place was very clean and well taken cared off. The toilets and showers are very convenient and clean. There’s a couple of sink that can be used to clean utensils with potable water. Wildlife’s great! The horses came around to greet everyone. We spotted kangaroos, sheep, kookaburras and goats. The river’s clean and a great place to have a swim. We surely will be back

Great spot here bordering Goulburn River National Park. Dave has put a huge effort into building walking trails and has created a great mud map to show you the way. We took a 4wd only campsite. Make sure you do have a good 4wd if you take this option because you definitely need it to get back out. Plenty of wildlife around. Even turtles in the river.. Plenty to explore.
