Has power and lighting, fresh drinking water, toilet, hot and cold shower and plenty of cover. With a fire pit just outside for toasting of marshmallows this makes for the best camping spot in the region. Elouera Vale is a working farm located just outside Mittagong NSW. We breed and train camels for sale, especially into the Southern Highlands. Camels are excellent for weed control and co-grazing with cattle. 'Elouera Vale' also breeds Belted Galloway cattle, Dorper and Wiltipol sheep and donkeys. Our property covers over 140 acres, 80 acres cleared and pasture improved and the rest consisting of forest. The Chain O Ponds creek runs through the property and makes for a lovely walk. You will probably get to see kangaroo, wallaby, wombats, echidnas, koalas and lots of bird life. The lush green hills abound with walking and cycling trails. You can head to the spectacular Nattai Gorge via the Box Vale Mine walking track, an easy 4.4km circular walk that follows an old railway line through a tunnel to breath-taking views. Enjoy a picnic in the magnificent Lake Alexandra Reserve or hike up extinct volcanic peak Mount Gibraltar. The closest shops are approximately a 15 minute drive to the Mittagong Town Centre where you will find all the shops, cafes and restaurants for your needs. It is well worth a visit to ‘The Shaggy Cow’ cafe, one of our favourite foodie spots (don’t forget to mention Elouera Vale). While you're here please try the Cool Climate wines. The region’s rich soil and high altitude are ideal for cool-climate wine growing. Visit cellar doors in the hills and valleys around Mittagong, including Centennial Vineyards. Enjoy a pleasant wine tasting experience at Centennial (don’t forget to mention us). The Camel Cottage offers a luxe off-the-grid escape for couples just one hour from Sydney but feels like "miles from anywhere". The Gums Cottage is a fully contained, off-grid modern getaway, surrounded by the magnificent white gum trees that are its namesake. Our property covers over 140 acres, 80 acres cleared and pasture improved and the rest consisting of forest. The Chain O Ponds creek runs through the property and makes for a lovely walk. You will probably get to see kangaroo, wallaby, wombats, echidnas, koalas and lots of bird life. The lush green hills abound with walking and cycling trails. You can head to the spectacular Nattai Gorge via the Box Vale Mine walking track, an easy 4.4km circular walk that follows an old railway line through a tunnel to breath-taking views. Enjoy a picnic in the magnificent Lake Alexandra Reserve or hike up extinct volcanic peak Mount Gibraltar. The closest shops are approximately a 15 minute drive to the Mittagong Town Centre where you will find all the shops, cafes and restaurants for your needs. It is well worth a visit to ‘The Shaggy Cow’ cafe, one of our favourite foodie spots (don’t forget to mention Elouera Vale). While you're here please try the Cool Climate wines. La Estancia Hideaway was the perfect place for a 3 night break away. It's spacious, surrounded by trees, quiet and very, very comfortable. A fresh and clean bathroom, huge amenities shed and even an open air bath. Our host, Magali, was welcoming and communicative. Highly recommended and we'll be back.

this place is so amazing along with the host - it’s an absolute hidden treasure that once you know you will return - it’s in a great spot for exploring the Jervis Bay Area - it has the best communal area and an outdoor bath in the forest that is private to your booking - I almost don’t want to review this because I want to make sure I get to revisit !! But Magali and her place need a shout out as she has poured so much love into creating a beautiful camping experience :)

Great spot! The BBQ area was a great facility and put on entertainment and food on offer for NYE. The shower and toilet block was always very clean and tidy and had plenty of hot water. Nice spread out space to set up camp and not feel too close to others, even though it was a busy time. Very friendly staff in the office too.

For first time campers we loved every part of our stay from the very welcoming receptionists , who made check in a breeze . Clean amenities which were easily accessible to the amazing beach views and the friendly hopping neighbours (kangaroos) we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would most definitely return. Jervis Bay National Park

No trip is complete without a visit to Hyams Beach, the main highlight of Jervis Bay National Park. In addition, the White Sands Walk and interconnected Scribbly Gum Track loop through the park, taking you along the coast and through forest and woodland. Stop along the walking track to go snorkelling or picnic at a secluded beach, and look out for native sugar gliders and birdlife including New Holland honeyeaters, eastern spinebills, eastern rosellas, and crimson rosellas. From an elevated viewing platform, Bull Hole Lookout offers fantastic views over the coast and surrounding dunes, all covered in swamp oak, banksias, and wattle trees. Booderee National Park

See the ruins of the Cape St. George Lighthouse perched on the edge of a cliff in nearby Booderee National Park. The park has great camping areas and is home to Australia’s only Indigenous-owned and managed botanic gardens. The area’s beaches include family-favourite Green Patch, Scottish Rocks, Bristol Point, Hole in the Wall, and Murrays Beach, a great place to watch sunrise over Bowen Island. Cave Beach is another popular highlight, known for surfing and offering the chance to see native kangaroos and wallabies.

Currambene Creek

Explore the tranquil Currambene Creek and its mangrove forests during a safari or sunset cruise aboard the iconic Husky Ferry. You might see wildlife like soldier crabs, sea eagles, and stingrays. The ferry also operates between Myola and Huskisson on weekends.

Huskisson

Just north of Huskisson, Moona Moona Beach is ideal for swimming and picnics, thanks to its shallow water, barbecue facilities, and outdoor showers. While you’re there, catch a flick at Huskisson Pictures, housed in a former community hall built in 1913, or try some local ales and a bite from a food truck at Jervis Bay Brewing Co.
