Allambie

2 sites · RVs, Tents2500 acres · Keera, NSW
Located an hour south of Inverell, our farm features beef and sheep grazing in the hills of North West Slopes of NSW. It’s an active operating farm so there’s always a lot to see going on in day to day activities. Here you will find acres and acres of rolling hills in a remote area, with spectacular views from the hill tops. So the thing to enjoy here is the fresh air, the bushwalking and the tranquility. Get off grid with no mobile service for a truly relaxing recharge and reviving break away. We have a lovely little waterfall you can walk into and spend some time at the rock pool. This is totally in a natural state. It's about enjoying the rawness of the land and its natural features. The native wildlife is abundant as are the deer and goats. Bird watching is a treat with many small species up to the majestic wedgetail. When visiting us at Allambie, you'll almost be taking a walk back in time. You will encounter a slice of life that has remained very much the same since settlement. If you’re a 4WD drive enthusiast you will enjoy camping 'out the back' on the creek. There are 2 main creeks through Allambie and both feed into the Gwydir River, we can direct you to some great fishing spots on the river for a day out. Canoeing, kayaking, boating are all popular activities on the river and we are 20 mins to Copeton Dam. Situated on a running gully/creek and within 800 metres walking distance to the main homestead, the campsite is in open view and safe for small vans, trucks and campers etc. We recommend 4WDs to access the campsite. Please message us if you’re unsure about your vehicle. We welcome self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower, and drinking water. You must have your own amenities. Campfires are permitted outside of fireban season. Surrounded by hills and a working farm there is much to see and do. Lots of wildlife fauna and flora to take in along with the domestic operations of cattle, goats, sheep and horses. If you're looking for a quiet place "Allambie's" traditional name meaning, then this is it. Off grid, no mains power, peace and quiet on a self-sustaining farm. Bush walking, bird watching, hiking, cycling if you're fit,...there's incredible views from the hill tops.
