It is situated in a peaceful rural setting with, clean, crisp mountain air. The elevation is approximately 1293 metres and in winter there are frosts and the occasional snowfall.
The camping area is grassed, level, and spacious, and has access to power, rainwater, and toilet. Campfires are permitted when conditions allow, and we're also pet-friendly!

This cattle and sheep property in New Valley, half an hour south of Inverell, is raw and beautiful, with New Valley Creek running through it, swimming holes, and waterfalls. Newly laid trails make exploring the property easy, from valleys to hilltops. If you are looking for a natural wonderland, where you can enjoy Australian bush camping at its absolute best, this is it. The property is so spectacular, that parts of it have even been featured on TV's Farmer Wants a Wife.
The terrain is rugged and hilly, but the host has created easy access to several excellent, grassy camping sites some exclusive to one group at a time, others around the large dam but still with plenty of space. They all have good road access for even 2WD, provided they have good clearance.
The creek and rocks are stunning and will provide hours of fun. Fishing tours are run on the property at an extra cost, it is strictly catch and release and must discuss it beforehand with the host. We do not permit hunting as we want our guests to have and enjoy the tranquility and space.
Please note, that our Farmer Wants a Wife site has a long-drop toilet and designated fire ring, however, our other sites are for completely self-contained campers only.
If you are visiting during the shearing season, you are welcome to come and check it out for an insight into farm life!
Pet friendly, but only small breeds, and must be kept on a lead at all times. Please discuss bringing your dog with the host before booking.
Campfires are ok provided you BYO firepit, and they are kept small and manageable. There is plenty of fallen timber you are welcome to collect for firewood. Strictly no cutting down of trees. No campfires during fire bans, or when conditions are not favourable.
Whilst fishing tours are possible on the property, you must discuss your interest with the host prior as there are important rules around this and is , it's strictly catch-and-release only. We do not allow hunting of any description so that our visitors can have a quiet and relaxing stay without interruptions.
Just five minutes up the road is Green Valley Fun Park with a huge playground, jumping pillow, animal walkabout, museum and 18 hole mini putt. So plenty to keep kids entertained both on and off the property!

Anywhere around the dam
You have an option to camp at the shed where there is a generator for power (lighting) and toilet amenities. This area is generally flat and can accommodate any type of camping vehicle.
There is a shed to provide shelter for your food prep etc. There is a sink under the awning but you will need to carry water in a container to wash dishes. Outside there is wood-burning BBQ the camping paddock is fully fenced in .
For 4WD enthusiasts, there are good camping spots at the top of the mountain ridge however need to be self contained eg toilet.
You will need to bring your own fresh drinking water supply and unleaded fuel to run the water pump and generator.
We have secure cattle yards as a holding space if holidaying with your horses (please see Extras for horse facility fees).
Enjoy scenic horse rides around the valley and relax in front of the campfire by night. Dogs on leashes are welcome.
There is no phone reception on site
There is a pub in Bundarra where meals hospitality and spending time with the locals and a corner store 25km away at Bundarra, and all shops and amenities are available 75km at Inverell.

Hosts resposive & check in on you unobtrusively.
We stayed 2 nights in our pop top caravan.
Facilities excellent.
View down the valley offers good sunset lighting & morning fogs.
Camp area is well cleared & grassy, horses come in close & cattle, a bit wary, were standing back.
No hesitation in recommending this camp, easy days drive from Brisbane or Sunshine coast.
Hope to return to explore the region more.

We had a great stay with friends at New Valley Dreaming choosing the site at the Dams. We choose to stay at the bigger dam. There was heaps of room for us and it was so peaceful. There is one tree on the site that provides afternoon shade, and we just popped our car awning up for other times. 4WD run to the creeks, and the ability to really explore around the area was great. Kay and her hubby called in twice during our stay, just as they were heading out to do some sheep work, just to check in and make sure we were happy. Kay was really great with communication prior to our arrival also. Recommend if you want to switch off and just chill!

Scenic camp site with nice, clean facilities for all your needs. We were just stopping over for the night camping beside our vehicle. Hosts helped us out massively in a pinch as a storm rolled through and went out of their way to allow us to camp under the shed. Can't thank them enough and will definitely be recommending Kai Iwi Estate in future.

This Hipcamp honestly took our breath away. The view alone is incredible, and the beautiful white flowers around the property made the whole place feel extra special the moment we arrived.
It was really easy to find and access, and the location itself was peaceful and quiet — exactly what we were hoping for. When we pulled in, we saw a little kid feeding the horses and it was honestly the cutest, most wholesome welcome ever.
The horses were gorgeous, and the amenities were spotless. The hot shower was perfect, and having a laundry available felt like such a luxury while camping.
Our dog had the best time exploring the space, and we’d definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a calm, scenic getaway. Would absolutely stay again.

We didn’t actually get to stay long at Briarfield as something came up and we had to leave early but I can say that it is an awesome place and Robert and Julia are great hosts who were more than understanding when our circumstances changed and we had to leave early and they actually refunded our money which we didn’t ask for or expect but it was much appreciated and it just shows the type of people that they are.
We can’t wait to get back and enjoy their awesome property.

Amazing experience camping at New Valley, Kay was so helpful to arrange the stay for our group of 3 families, tent, swags and a caravan. Freedom to pretty much do what we wanted, collect wood, fire, music etc. grassy area made it easy for camping especially with a baby. Kay and her husband were happy to show us around and let us explore the waterfall and rock pools on the property too. Would stay again for sure.

The dam site is nice a good view down the valley. We were serenaded by the frogs (but they cut out by bedtime) we saw wallabys black and pretty faced, kangaroos a couple of deer and lots of birds. There was plenty of camp fire wood also . It's in the property a bit but a good gravel track . Kay met us on the road and lead us there nice hosts.

This spot was perfect for us. Kay and Steve were absolutely amazing with communication and ensured everything was okay for our stay.
The river was great to spend time by and loved just watching the wild goats traversing the rocky ravines.
The stay was thoroughly relaxing and peaceful to just be out in hills with nature and escape everyday busy life for a while.
Would highly recommend this spot to anyone who loves the solitude when camping or even as a group that just wants a private space to spend together.
We certainly plan to return.

A love warm welcome by Kay, and a heap of interaction before arrival, to ensure a successful check in. We got an upgrade to a beautifully stunning and very secluded spot, and Kay gave us a personal escort to the site. Definitely recommend a 4WD and off road trailer to get the the farmer wants a wife site if your booking there (the dam site, not quite as essential). So very worth it, though and sad to only have it as a stopover on the way to our final destination. Highly recommend if you are keen to get completely off the grid, away from any human noise and get back to nature.

We recently stayed at Kai Iwi Estate in Glencoe, just a short 15 min drive south of Glen Innes, and it was nothing short of magical. Perched on top of a scenic hill, the campsite offered breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. The flat, level grassy area beside the shed was perfect for setting up our 22foot van, complete with access to power and potable water. The modern ensuite facilities were a standout immaculately clean with a hot shower, toilet, washing machine, and large clothesline, making our stay incredibly comfortable. For just $5 a day we had access to firewood, and the large fire pit. Our dogs had the time of their lives, exploring the open spaces and making friends with the curious friendly horses that often came to the fence for a pat. Annabelle is friendly and welcoming host, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Her hospitality added a personal touch that made our stay even more special.
Thank you, Annabelle, for sharing your beautiful farm with us. We loved every moment and are already looking forward to our next visit.
