Welcome to this remote piece of paradise! Rhapsody is located in Gingkin,, which is not far from Oberon NSW, about 3 hours west of Sydney.
Campsites are hidden in a remote valley direct frontage to the pristine Hollanders River, adjoining the Kanangra-Boyd National Park. There are two private campsites on grassy river flats surrounded by eucalyptus forest. The sites are very secluded so you will see lots of wildlife and you're guaranteed not to see any other people! Only one group can stay at each campsite and campsites are on different parts of the river so privacy is guaranteed.
In dry conditions 2WD is fine for Wallaby flat but in wet weather, 4WD is required. Platypus flat is 4wd only. You can always park at the top of the hill and walk down first if you're not sure.
Dog friendly. Campfires permitted in a designated area when restrictions aren't in place. Gather your own wood from fallen timber on the way in or BYO wood. Not much firewood available on site. Both campsites can get quite cool as they are low in the valley.
This is a wild and remote area. Guided remote bushwalks also available for those who are fit and adventurous.
Both campsites have a pit toilets, cold shower, spring water on tap, picnic tables.. Water is sourced from a distant spring in the mountain and is gravity fed to the site by above ground pipe which heats the water during the day.
There is a small area where you can get Telstra mobile reception at the cattle grid on the way into the property, but very limited mobile reception in this area. If you are on Optus or other networks you won't get any reception. There is no mobile reception at camp - perfect for disconnecting and reconnecting with nature!

Located in the beautiful Wiarborough Valley, Forestvale Farm sits on the border of Gundungurra and Wiradjuri Country with the Blue Mountains National Park, Mares Forest National Park and Wombeyan Caves at your doorstep, plus conveniently located on the Bicentennial National Trail, come and escape to the peace and quiet of the country, but with the convenience of great coffee and restaurants only minutes away.
We look forward to meeting you on arrival and showing you to your campsite on our working property depending on your vehicle and camp setup, weather and location of stock. A limited number of sites are 2WD/AWD accessible via gravel or dirt road, but most sites require a capable 4WD particularly if you are towing a camper. All sites have lovely views.
Campers are required to be self sufficient with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure.
Fill your days swimming in the creek, exploring the property on foot, on mountain-bike, set up yabbie traps in the dams, or sit back and relax listening to the abundant birdlife that calls Forestvale home and keep your binoculars and camera handy for the visiting wildlife including wombats and kangaroos.
Forestvale Farm is a working farm and you are welcome to view whatever activities are happening during your visit, or head out beyond the farm gate to visit the Taralga Zoo, stock up on fresh organic produce grown by our neighbours, dine on hearty pub dinners in town, or fish for trout on the Abercrombie River just up the road.
Campfires are permitted (subject to prevailing bushfire risk conditions) but please speak to your hosts before lighting one. They must be kept contained and at a reasonable size.
Pets are welcome but must be kept restrained at all times to protect stock and wildlife. Guests will be asked to leave if their dog is not restrained.
Please note mobile reception is limited in the Wiarborough Valley. What a great opportunity to switch off and enjoy your holiday.

Wallaby is a very beautiful spot, with everything that you need. Like other campers we saw plenty of wildlife including wallabies , echidnas wombats, kangaroos and lyrebird. The river is nearby the campsite, and crystal clear. It was great to have a toilet, cold shower, running water to camp, and chairs and tables. We had no problems with access, we had 4wds and the directions were easy to follow.

Wallaby flat was awesome.
So quiet and peaceful. A great place to disconnect from technology and read and rest.
The river was so clear and clean perfect for a quick paddle or to just gaze at in the hammock.

We had a wonderful 2-night stay at Wallaby Flat and highly recommend it. If you want a spot that is truly secluded, private, and beautiful, this is it. The property is bordered by Kanangra-Boyd National Park, making it feel incredibly peaceful.
The river is very nice and was warm enough to soak in - the perfect way to cool down in the afternoon heat. While the river wasn’t as deep as usual during our stay, there were still spots deep enough to swim in. Hiking trails are available nearby, though we spent most of our time relaxing. There is also plenty of shade to help avoid the direct sun.
We spotted trout swimming by, and while we didn’t see the reclusive platypus or wombat, we saw many curious wallabies, birds, and rabbits.
For future campers: be sure to download offline maps before heading out, as there is no reception nearby. Danny’s directions and maps are excellent, but try to arrive during daylight to make finding the site easier.
Danny was an exceptional host - extremely friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the land and local wildlife. We had an outstanding time and are already looking forward to visiting again.

Danny’s place was absolutely incredible — the perfect combination of peaceful nature, fresh mountain air, and genuine hospitality. From the moment we arrived, Danny made us feel welcome and well-looked-after. The land is stunning, quiet, and full of beautiful spots to explore and relax.
We came for a short getaway and left completely recharged. The scenery, the clean fresh water, the tranquillity of the bush, and the feeling of privacy made our stay unforgettable. Danny was always helpful, answered all our questions, and guided us with everything we needed. You can truly feel how much care and effort he puts into maintaining such a unique place.

We loved camping at Wallaby Flat! The location is beautiful. Lovely shallow creek adjacent to the campground, with some deeper swimming spots nearby. Great for a large group - we had around 20 people - and there was still lots of space for cricket & frisbee :) Appreciated the toilet and sink facilities too - just made it all very easy. We loved our long weekend getaway, and will be back! Thanks Danny!

What stood out most about Nadine’s land were the stunning views and the warm, welcoming hosts. The property is spacious and peaceful, and we were given plenty of freedom to explore, which made the experience feel even more special. When our car wouldn’t start, the owners went out of their way to help us out — genuinely lovely people. Would totally recommend staying here!

I stayed at Forestvale for 2 nights in mid-July. It stunning land and the camp sit is on the top of the hill. It was so cold at night but I brought sleeping bag (recommend for winter) Nadine also prepared a campfire for us and there are a lot of firewood that I can grab around the site.

One word: Outstanding.
Communication with Nadine was awesome from day one, she is super responsive, her manner and personality is bubbly and kind, her directions were really thoughtful and very clear and Nadine even gave us a map and a tour of their gorgeous property when we arrived!
We also got to meet their two beautiful dogs, and they are such good natured floofs, our own dog fell in love right away!
They truly love their home, and they really enjoy having campers appreciate their home as much as they do.
We were lucky enough to see snow and because the ground was a bit soggy, Nadine and her partner even came out to help guide us city folk with the best route to avoid any accidental bogged cars!
We would love to go back and camp here again, we couldn't have had a better time. We are very grateful to have had the opportunity to enjoy ourselves as much as we did - Thank you again!

The printery is the most perfect place to stay if you are exploring the northern beaches. The bed is so big and comfy, easy parking and the manly dam at the end of the street, it’s a perfect little nature getaway!
And the best part is the outdoor shower, a real little tropical oasis and you can have a piping hot shower under the stars ✨

What a stunning place to camp! It was a great place to enjoy nature and wildlife. The road in is a little rough, which worried some in our group, but even after 2 days of rain, they were fine getting out. It felt lovely and remote, but was not too far from Oberon when we wanted to go out.
Danny was an awesome host, very thoughtful and helpful.

Couldn’t recommend Wallaby flat enough. Very secluded, felt like the last people left on earth. Large, flat grassy area right on the bank of Hollanders River complete with resident wombat and so many native birds. Kanangra Boyd NP is just across the river. Drop toilets, showers and fire pit, this place has it all. Danny was super friendly and helpful, we’ll be back to this pace for sure.

Perfect place in nature. We loved it. The river was beautiful and Danny was there all the time to give us a hand. One of the best camping spots I've been in this area. 100% recommended, and Danny is an absolute legend.
The only thing I'd flag is don't go there on a 2wd car, unless you are a skilled driver. The last bit of the road is full of holes. People got flat tires and had difficulties to access to the property. I personally drived my 2wd car and I didn't have many issues to go down, but I struggle a lot to get out of there as my car was packed with a lot of weight.
Still, I'd repeat the experience 100%, it was an incredible spot.

Wallaby Flat was a fantastic site to camp for the weekend. The surroundings and river was amazing. Directions to camp were spot on and much needed (so worth paying attention to them).
