The farm you’re camping on is one of the last family farms remaining in Columbia County and is named Glenn Farm after DV Glenn who married Hettie Lou Niblack in the 1930’s. Over the last 150 years it has been farmed by some of the county’s oldest families such as the Niblack and Ellis families. When DV Glenn came to Florida from his farm in Cairo, GA he took over the portion of the Niblack farm that was inherited by his wife Hettie Lou. At that time he was running native Florida cattle on over 6000 acres. Unfortunately, In 1951 he was killed in a hunting accident leaving his wife with the farm and 4 children (ages 4-11). In order to survive, Hettie Lou Niblack Glenn was forced to sell 5000 acres at $25 an acre. Holding a bachelors degree from Florida State College for Women, she was able to secure a job at the University of Florida as a secretary and with the money from the land sale she was able to raise her four children. Of the original farm, 600 acres remain intact and the Glenn family is trying to keep the farm as an agricultural operation. Your campsite is 1 of 4 spots (Arrowhead Sink, Dunagan’s Meadow, North Hall Pasture or Magnolia Sink). We also have a 1 bedroom Tiny home that used to be the farm office. Dunagan’s meadow is a pasture behind the old farmhouse (built in 1824), Magnolia sink and The North Hall Pasture are also on the main farm while Arrowhead Sink is on the edge of a hayfield about a mile down a dirt road. Glenn Farm is a place to come relax and experience a world that is rapidly disappearing. It is not a commercial campground.

The Magnolia sink site is on the edge of an amphitheater type sink with a flat bottom and lots of trees. Located in the hayfield next to Dunagan’s meadow it’s a good site for tents or hammocks. It’s shady and large. It can accommodate a large group of people. It’s basic and quiet with a fire ring, a picnic table and a trash can. There are a lot of blue jays, cardinals, hawks, crows and a bald eagle who visits every month or so. We are only 4.5 miles (as the crow flies) from Gilchrist Blue Springs and Ichetucknee Springs so it’s a great place to relax after a day at the springs or on the river. (There is an ATT/ T-Mobile Cell Tower in the field about 1/4 of a mile away so there is good connectivity for those carriers.) This site is not located near Arrowhead sink.

The Arrowhead Campsite is open and you will have access to 20 acres of pasture and woods. While there is still a little debris left, we have been able to remove the big trees blown down by hurricane Helene and the sink is accessible. The site is limited to people over the age of 18 and it is not located near our animals. Our cows and sheep are located at Dunagan’s meadow and Magnolia Sink a little over a mile away from Arrowhead Sink. Sometime before the end of the Civil War, a man named Peter Jones was directed by his personal physician to move to a warm area with a humid climate in order to facilitate his “consumption”. He moved here, built a house and lived 1 year before he died of the malady. )It turns out he should have move to Arizona.) For the next hundred years this land was farmed by some of the county’s oldest families such as the Niblack family and the Ellis family. Your campsite is 1 of three spots (Arrowhead Sink, Dunagan’s Meadow or Walter’s Landing). Arrowhead Sink is on the edge of hayfield about a mile down a dirt road from the main farm where Dunagan’s Meadow or Magnolia sink are located. You are camping on the edge of a perennial peanut hay field about 50 yards from Arrowhead Sink (cave/cenoté). Swimming in the sink is permitted but the water is very cold and the bottom is very deep🙂.  All of the roads around here are unpaved (sand). There is have to the historic Bellamy road so it is well suited for riding horses and mountain bikes. River rise state park offers many trails for horseback riding. However we don’t currently have facilities for horses. Temperatures in the Spring, Fall and Winters here are perfect for a night by the fire. Summer is hot and humid. We speak English, French and a little Spanish and love to talk about the history of the Sink and our family’s involvement in farming this area since the mid 1800’s.  The local area holds quite a few state parks. Oleno is only a few miles away as the crow flies, Ichetucknee Springs offers tubing in the crystal clear waters of the Ichetucknee river, and Gilchrist Blue Springs state park is only a 15 minute drive away. It is a primitive campsite. Water is from a hose about 150 yards from the site and there is no electricity.

Dunagan’s Meadow

Dunagan’s Meadow is on the edge of a 35 acre pasture. Right now you will share the pasture with 18 cows and almost 100 sheep. We have fuzzy eared friendly Scottish Highlanders who will eat out of your hand, 5 miniature Aberdeens who are also quite tame and one beautiful Dexter. The pasture sits behind a house that is nearing 200 years old and belonged to my grandmother Hettie Lou Niblack Glenn whose mother was Montine Dunagan.  If you want to build a fire, you will have no difficulty finding deadfall all along the fence lines. In fact we appreciate people picking it up and burning it. If you need a bonfire let us know a little in advance and we can build a head high bonfire that will last a couple of days.  We do not have a RV hook-up just 4, 110 volt outlets per the picture and this site is not located near Arrowhead Sink.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Tom and Judy’s Hipcamp and this place is something special. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how beautiful the property is. The wide open field is peaceful and scenic, surrounded by tall, broad oak trees that give just the right mix of shade and sun. It’s the kind of place where you immediately relax and slow down. The animals were a huge highlight to include friendly sheep, curious donkeys, and gentle cows roaming nearby added so much character and made the experience feel unique and memorable (especially if you’re bringing kids or just enjoy being around animals). Everything was very well maintained. The campsite itself was clean and thoughtfully set up, and even the outhouse was spotless, which honestly says a lot about the care Tom and Judy put into their property. On top of that, the location is perfect. There are several incredible springs nearby, and we spent our days kayaking, snorkeling, and swimming in crystal-clear water. It’s hard to beat that combination of peaceful camping and easy access to outdoor adventure. Tom and Judy were wonderful hosts. Both friendly, welcoming, and clearly passionate about the family farm. We’ll absolutely be back. If you’re looking for a relaxing, scenic, and genuinely enjoyable camping experience, this is it.

This is the 2nd time staying at Glenn's Farm. First we stayed 2 yrs ago at the Magnolia site and this time we stayed at Dunnigans Meadow. Tom and Judy are more than accommodating and always willing to share stories about the history of their family farm. I've taken my niece there twice and she enjoys the interactions with the sheep, mules and cows and learning about life on a family farm. This is such a fantastic option to avoid crowded campgrounds and related noise. Enjoy the beautiful sunsets, livestock visits, great hosts, quiet nature and dark skies for star gazing!!!! They are located only 5 to twenty minutes from multiple beautiful springs and parks that are an economical option for enjoying hikes and time in and on the water. And River Rise State Park attached to Olena State Park, has a single stall shower you can grab a shower in if you're a state park member. Just use the secluded entrance found under River Rise State Park on the map, not the Olena State Park entrance. In terms of springs/parks, I'd recommend almost all of them, except Ginnie Springs is too pricey for the experience and Ruth B. Kirby Gilchrist Blue Springs State Park is currently closed for renovations. We plan to be back again for this amazing camping experience!

Started coming here years ago wouldn’t dream of camping anywhere else in Florida. As a big family this place is perfect peaceful and a great getaway where the kids can just roam. 10/10 must try. The owners as well are some of the best people and they aren’t built like that anymore. Love love love

Nice peaceful and private primitive camping site, fire ring, picnic table, composting toilet and all the firewood you want( just bring a handsaw or small chainsaw) that is still close drive to gas stations, stores ect. There is homes in the area and a state road that creates some noise in the weekday mornings a bit intrusive but nothing host can do about that especially with the nonstop Florida growth. Would definitely camp there again .

Tom and Judy were amazing hosts, very kind and helpful. The property was beautiful. Our large group enjoyed exploring and spending time with cows, sheep, and donkeys (especially the kids). At night, the stars dominated the sky, like a cloak studded with sparkling diamonds. I highly recommend this property.

It is a beautiful farm to hang out and have a nice evening and feel safe overnight. Highly recommend for a camper or RV. I would also highly recommend it for car campers ortenters but you need to be OK walking a bit to have a pee.

John and Judy are excellent, attentive hosts, who made us feel right at home on their beautiful farm. Exploring and spending time on the land felt like a gift, and we enjoyed learning about the farm and its history through John's enthusiastic stories. My friend and I absolutely hope to go back!

This place is just what you need for mental health camping. Whether with a group or solo it’s a great place to go. The cave is really cool but the water is really cold. Only went in to my calves. The host, Judy, was really nice and accommodating. Definitely going back with or without friends.

What a cool spot! We did the pasture on the first night and "The Sink" on the 2nd night. Both were really cool. The meadow by the sink is where I saw all the deer, really neat. "The Sink" itself is really neat- very cold and refreshing, you should definitely take a dip! Again, Tom and Judy were outstanding hosts, we'll back!
