Hazelnut Farm offers a peaceful escape with expansive campsites nestled along the Tyers River. Campers rave about the tranquil atmosphere, with nature's soundtrack of flowing water and abundant wildlife, including kookaburras and platypuses, enhancing the serene experience. Hosts Bernie and Lisa are frequently praised for their hospitality and the well-maintained grounds, making it a favorite for repeat visitors. While most reviews are overwhelmingly positive, the occasional mention of rough access roads is noted, but overall, the farm consistently delivers a relaxing retreat surrounded by nature.
Lisa & Bernie's property has amazing well kept sites. Sites are large enough for bigger groups and separate to other camp sites. Beautiful river running through the property and along each campsite. Cute farm animals and nice hazelnut orchard.
What an amazing spot. So quiet and well mowed lawns. Roads/tracks are very bumpy and need to be graded and holes filled in in spots, but apart from that we had a great stay. Boys fished and swam. Water wasn’t deep enough to SUP or kayak though which was a shame.
We had such a great night! The family of Kookaburra's were so wonderful to watch and it's such a beautiful spot. Thank you Lisa and Bernie for having us at your lovely patch of paradise. We look forward to coming out again soon!
Welcoming, friendly host. We stayed at Hervey 2, which had a beautiful large well kept lawn area. Unfortunately the river access was not easy and there are alot of blackberries surrounding and along the river. This site has the access track running through the middle and we had other campers frequently walking and driving through. The best site would be Chestnut corner as it is at the end of the track and has great river access.
Lisa & Bernie sites and location are fantastic. Lovely friendly people. Large sites to fit your whole group. Beautiful bush setting by the river and hazelnut orchard.
Beautiful scenery along the river. Big open camp areas that are well maintained. The track in is a bit rough, but we caught two trout, so I’ll let it slide
Such a fantastic spot.
Bernie was great and very responsive.
Sites are huge, clean and all accessible to the river. You also have your own fire pit.
We will definitely be back and can highly recommend.
A beautiful place to camp. Thank you for generously offering your farm as a Hipcamp, we were so grateful to have camped there. The bushland teaming with kookaburras, the river running made for a soothing soundtrack for the weekend. Bernie was a great host, thanks for having us Bernie and Lisa.
What a stunning piece of land to share with campers! Not only are you surrounded by amazing australian alpine bush but you also have tyres river right there in full glory. The property is tucked away from any major road and you feel as if youre the only person for ages. Even though youre out in the bush, you feel very secure and safe on the property. The camp areas are very well set out with each one getting better as you travel further down the property, all sites can access the water and have exceptional views of the bush, they also have great spacing so you are not too close to other campers and each sign post comes with its own kookaburra! The amount of wildlife that surrounded the property was amazing, plenty of variety of bird life, trout in the river and if youre lucky enough youll get a special moment to see the platypus and wombats. Lisa and Bernie have taken such great care and detail in ensuring you get to your site safe and sound, with specific and precise instructions that are easily followed and even though Bernie couldnt meet me on arrival he made sure I knew where to go and what to expect and then happily came over to say gday and made me feel welcome on the property. Im looking forward to booking another stay on the Hazelnut farm.
I loved this place! Bernie met me at the front and took my exactly where i was staying so it wasn’t unclear at all. the views were beautiful and i would definitely stay here in the summer! super affordable too!
There’s a reason I keep coming back to this place. Fantastic hosts, a great property, and always a peaceful escape. I think that says everything that needs to be said.
Bernie is a legend. He is a great talk and a great host. So helpful. Chilled laid back and full of life.
Location is out of paradise, great for families or mates or groups. Swimming in the stream is a must do activity for all human beings:-)
The sites are massive and quite secluded from one another. The scenery around the farm, along the Tyres River is just sublime. Peaceful is a word that comes to mind, but just doesn't do it justice. Our host, Bernie was attentive and on hand via the app when we needed more wood and quick to lend a hand. We would highly recommend Hazelnut Farm stay to anyone who enjoys the tranquillity of a rustic but absolutely beautiful spot.
