This campsite by the river offers a serene and tranquil environment, perfect for those looking to unwind. Guests have appreciated the peaceful setting, highlighted by the soothing sounds of birds and the occasional sighting of kangaroos at dusk. Many visitors enjoyed fishing, with some catching bream and mud crabs. However, a few found the site hard to locate initially, and there were some issues with site maintenance during earthworks, which affected the peaceful atmosphere for a short period.
I had two lovely nights camping next to the river. It was quiet and the only sounds were the birdsong and the occasional motor boat on the river. I wanted to relax and enjoy the water view perfect two days.
A wonderful quiet retreat .. lots of options to set up camp throughout the area.. loved seeing the kangaroos come in at dusk.
Found it difficult to find but was able to contact Michael who set us on the right path though I think clear / specific signage would have been great as we had driven past it a few times .. however it was worth the wait.. we loved our 3 days staying at the site. Can recommend the Burrum Tavern for Sunday lunch and listening to the band .. a wonderful way to spend a Sunday arvo
Nice and relaxing spot on the river. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed waking up with the kookarurras. Naomi and Michael were very helpul and responsives. Highly recommend if you are after beautiful and peaceful views
Our first time Camping along the river it was Beautiful and The wild life. Micheal and Naomi such great host they went above and beyond to make our stay a memorable one Definitely recommend won't be disappointed
Sadly my car spat the dummy 40 minutes out which required limping back to gympie for temporary fix then limping home.
I sent 2 msgs to host apprising him of problem but did not receive a reply or offer of refund, or even a new booking. Given the situation was entirely beyond my control, I am disappointed at the lack of response
Beautiful quiet n peaceful and close to town. We loved it n would definitely go back. Michael, the host was easily contactable n wood delivered to our camp site was a plus.
Beautiful property, plenty of room to camp, was pretty quiet, good fishing, caught a couple of undersized muddies, plenty of wildlife. Would definitely go back.
Camped by the river and it was quiet and the scenery and animals were very enjoyable, had no dramas finding it but gate code and description was different and to advice recieved so it took us an hour to confirm and access the property.
Nice quite camp ground if you can sit around and do not much.
We think you’d do alright with crab pots, but didn’t have any luck fishing.
Lots of nice open areas reasonably flat.
Didn’t see the owner
The photos of the river are not accurate and we couldn’t find the swing that is in the primary photo. Only 2 spots we could see to fish off (that are easily blocked if someone sets up in front of them - as they were when we first arrived)
Quite a steep drop that seems to difficult to access the water.
You would be able to swim in the dam.
We did think it was quite expensive also, however we booked there due to not much else being available last minute for Easter and the pics looked great with the swing etc,
We payed for 3 nights and only stayed for 1.
We are set up to be completely off grid. And usually stay in national parks.
We loved camping on this property. It was easy accessible with a AWLD, beautiful spot on the Mary River and with close river views from your site. There is also a beautiful fresh water dam on the property which he had a swim in.
It was a very clean camp area with lots of spacious room between campers. It was also a bonus that pets are allowed.
Michael was very humble and accommodating.
He also had great offers on fire wood, gas bbq hire, portable toilet hire with lots more.
We had a great time camping at Burgowan mine 11. Michaels property is really well maintained and so peaceful. Loved listening to the kookaburras in the morning. Would recommend highly and we will go back for sure.
