I enjoyed my stay on Kathy’s land. The guard dogs are exceedingly friendly creatures. I slept on the ground in a screened bivy tent and during the night when I looked around, the three dogs had positioned themselves around me. I felt very safe lol! You should be aware that the camping area is in the enclosure for the herd of male llamas. They did not bother me at all while I was sleeping however, the most overly friendly one of them did nip my arm when I first arrived. I just made a point of shooing him away after that and there was no further issue.
This was a one night stop for me. I did not use the provided fire pit as it was too hot but noted it was well laid out. The potty is located in a repurposed horse trailer which is open air and I could not find a way to close the door. This was not a problem for me as it faced an open field and was therefore private.
The land is semi-rural and although I did not see neighbors I did hear them and their 80’s jams. Also the camping is right next to a road with intermittent traffic. 8-10 vehicles drove by in the 10 hours I was there…some late at night.
I would return for a one night stop-over should I ever be in the area needing a place to sleep and some serious doggy hugging. I would not return to stay multiple nights. Not private enough for my taste.

My and two friends loved staying at Kathy’s Alpaca Farm! Being animal and outdoors lovers, being surrounded by so many friendly and charactered animals made this stop an emotional recharge on our way across country! The property is very pretty and not too far out of town where we got Mexican food per our host’s recommendation. The road in is dirt and it had been raining quite a bit before we got there which I imagine could be an issue for less 4-wheel drive capable cars but our Subaru made it fine and we saw a Toyota Carola uber come down the road so it can’t be too bad. 10/10 would recommend. Woke up to the alpacas sleeping in a circle around our tent.

Such a sweet and private location. They made me a fire for when I arrived. The 3 pyranese dogs kept me company! The alpacas are many!!! Good times! Campfire after a long day of driving makes it all worth it.

We had a lovely evening at the alpaca farm. The hosts were very kind and hospitable. We learned tons about alpacas and alpaca fiber, and we got a tour of their little showroom. I even bought some yarn spun from the wool of the resident alpacas. The little porta-potty was totally sufficient and clean. We’re big dog fans so it was fun to have them there and to watch them work (they’re bigger than our six yo, tho, so keep that in mind if traveling with kids). A fun evening!

We had a great time here!! Firewood was provided and Steve even offered to get it started for us! The animals were so friendly and so good with our three young boys. Would recommend to anyone 100%!

The host was very helpful and gave me some lighter fluid when I was having trouble starting my fire. The animals were very friendly and would slowly approach or keep their distance. My only complaint is that they have 3 dogs who were a little too friendly, it was hard to get any done with 3 fluffy dogs constantly wanting to be pet. Still 5 stars

Camping on Kathy’s land was so fun! They were super hospitable and made sure we had all the information we needed for a successful stay. It was so cool to be around her animals while we camped!

Wonderful experience! We are pretty amateur campers, but we had a great time. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset and had a great time meeting some of the animals on the farm. Kathy and Steve are so kind!

We had so much fun camping here! The hosts were so nice and helpful. We appreciated that there was firewood provided as well as a toilet. We loved watching the alpacas and hanging out with the dogs, and we even saw the kitty a couple of times too. Great stay!

Kathy and Steve were great host! We used the bell tent and enjoyed a great sunset. Macbeth the lama will come right up to you, they also have a mom dad and baby peacock, a sweet orange kitty, and chickens. But our favorite were their dogs. Perfectly behaved, so so sweet.

I took my kids and grandbaby to camp with the alpacas and they absolutely loved it! Kathy's husband Steve was there to greet us when we arrived and was very friendly. He helped us with some wasps that really liked the wooden spools that made up a table and chair set. He helped get a couple of the alpacas back in their enclosure when my future son-in-law accidentally let them out without making us feel bad in the least (they are sneaky and faster than he thought). He even lent us his extension cord to make it easier for us to air up our mattresses. We would definitely stay again and really enjoyed their dogs and cat as well. My kids had a blast!

What a wonderful place to camp. We had no idea we would actually be camping in the pasture with the alpacas. How fun! The livestock guardian dogs were a hoot. This place is what makes camping fun again!

Well, alpacas are now my new favorite Andean ungulate -- they are crazy cute! And the Pyrenees dogs took care of US as well as the flock. We had a good quiet night. No problems.

It was a lot of fun hanging out with Kathy’s dogs and alpacas. The dogs were super friendly to us. The night view of the sky was spectacular. Free firewood was provided which was a very nice bonus. This is a primitive campsite, but there are gas stations, a grocery store, and dining a short drive away.

We had so much fun here! We did one night and will definitely be back - we did not have the pleasure of meeting Kathy, but Steve was so friendly and we could have chatted with him forever! The dogs are very friendly and the alpacas were adorable, bathroom was very clean, coffee was lovely, and I loved that there was firewood included as well 🫶🏻 Highly recommended!

This property was exactly what our family needed to unwind and get away from the hustle and bustle. Kathy and Steve were fabulous hosts, and went over and above with my kids. I could not recommend this place more!!!!

We absolutely loved our stay! We took our son and his three friends out to stay with the alpacas for his 8th birthday. They loved getting up close and personal with the alpacas, as well as the sweet dogs! We were really impressed with the dogs "herding" of the alpacas and staying close in protecting both them and the kiddos. Wish we could have stayed longer!
