Ready? Set? Grab your camera and head to Chaco Culture National Historical Park for a perfect shot and lesson in history! First shot is for definitely Canyon Loop Road where you’ll see the massively impressive dwelling of the Pueblo people. Explore all six sites, Una Vida, Hungo Pavi, Pueblo Bonito, Chetro Ketl, Pueblo del Arroyo, and Casa Rinconada, up close and personal, or take in an depth ranger led talk at Pueblo Bonito. Not far off is the a trail of ancient petroglyphs, or you can hike out into the backcountry until sunset to see the stunning valley along with remote Chacoan sites. You’ll want to set up camp before dark though, because that’s when the real show begins! Only one of four in country, Chaco is a designated Night Sky Park aka the most ballin’ place to see the cosmos! Chaco Culture, the park, and the night sky are so surreal here, you just might forget to use that camera.
