Llama Meadows Farm is a sixteen acre organic fruit and vegetable farm. We're a family peace farm. We have quiet time from 11 pm until 7 am. We have several games- bocce ball, badminton, frisbee, and a soccer ball.
The Hipcamp driveway is just south of our house, with a white Hipcamp sign directing you down the hill. Go slow through the trees and follow the road to the left, passing the Welcome Station, to access the sites
We don't mind a social drink or two, but we do not tolerate loud and drunken behavior. We ask all of our Campers to respect our sacred land and each other.
We have a beautiful bonfire patio with about 15 chairs. We also have a sink in our Welcome Station. For drinking or brushing teeth. Dishes are still washed in the dishwashing station. We have an instant hot water station as well as a charging station to charge your phones.
We have our pup Jazzy Bear on the site, who's the Hostess with the Mostest.
When the campsite is full, we do a group bonfire where everyone is invited to get to know each other.
We also have an artsy outhouse.
Located in Beautiful Benzie Country, in Northwestern Lower Michigan. We are one mile south of Crystal Lake and six miles east of Lake Michigan. Our-house is super insulated and passive solar. We had llamas for their wool and manure.
We retired from raising llamas, we had 12 they got old and moved on. We have around 50 fruit trees. The fruit we grow includes apples, pears, figs and paw paws. We also grow grapes, and kiwis, we also put in filberts, walnuts and pecans. We have a beautiful labyrinth peace garden.
We don't want barbecue pits on the ground it burns the grass

Purple Palace Tiny Tree House
100%

Treehouse · Sleeps 2 · 1 bed · 1 toilet
Before You book reading this is mandatory. Newly Renovated and Insulated The Campground is 250 ft away from the Treehouse with intertwining art trails and The Artisy Outhouse has a pit toilet, with peat moss to use to cover solids and baking soda to sprinkle in to help with oder, there is also an essential oil defuser to add a flowery essence. The Campfire has a Grate Grill and a wire brush for you to clean after each use, when cooking your Food on it. There is a 6 ft table to use for preparing your food on. We have a large Outdoor Shower with Hot Water and five hooks behind the door for your clothes, towels and and a mirror. The treehouse is 8 x 8 ( tiny ) cute comfortable and cosy. Our Guests enjoy sleeping in the full size bed and waking up with the sound of bird songs. The north and south windows open and are screened in. The south window looks out to the flower and vegtable gardens and we welcome our guests to stroll through them at their leisure. We also have a Labyrinth Peace Garden and at the entry of the labrynth is a info box to read about it and flat rocks and markers to write a positive affirmation or art work that you can place in one of the 7 flower beds as you walk with your intention and prayer along the way. The Purple Palace Tiny Treehouse is much more then a full size comfy bed. Marty built a beautiful sturdy staircase with 13 steps leading up to the treehouse that is built in two Blue Spruce trees and it moves and sways with the trees in the wind and the breeze. The Treehouse can squeaks and creak from branches moving with the wind which is common. In the summer of 2023 we renovated the treehouse. WE took every thing out, added 3.5 inches of insulation, wall board that we stained funky purple an added a vinyl flooring. Moved everything back in, hung tapestries. and then we added glow in the dark stars. Nothing like sleeping under the Stars. Marty built a lovely incredible staircase to the Purple Palace Tiny Treehouse, so we have been allowing ONE well behaved small or medium size dog for a extra fee of $10.00 a night pet fee that you are responsible to clean up after your dog does it's job after each time using doggie bags. It has been working out [xxxxxxxx] is a purple trash can on the deck under the treehouse besides a glider bench, clothes line and a purple hammock, there is a purple picnic table near to eat on. The Treehouse is super comfortable cozy and cute though It is teeny tiny 8 x 8 and the full size bed takes up most of the room. Because it's up in the trees you hear birds and other animals out in the woods. Also because it's in the trees, there are different kind of bugs that that could sneak in like tiny black beetles, flies, crickets, mosquitoes, spiders, monarch butterflies, ladybugs, fireflies and other insects around that is possible for any of them to sneak in. There are fly swatters to use if you need one. The Treehouse is a Glamping experience and a huge upgrade from tent camping. with lights, a small fan or heater (only to be used when you are in the treehouse) with a instant teapot, cups a tea and a small table for your stuff and storage under the bed. We welcome all who have read this, and look forward to the peace you will feel here. Love and Blessings to You Betty, Marty and Jazzy Bear Our Farm Dog (the hostess with the mostest).
Betty's campsite offers a welcoming and peaceful retreat for campers. Visitors are consistently impressed by the thoughtfulness and warmth of the hosts, Betty and Marty, who create a friendly and inviting environment. Guests appreciate the well-maintained amenities like the communal fire pit, outdoor shower, and clean facilities. However, there was one mention of a slightly awkward interaction regarding campfire rules, but overall, campers find the experience delightful and rejuvenating.
My dog and I had a wonderful weekend on the farm! Betty was so welcoming and friendly, I felt right at home. They have a gorgeous piece of land and really good vibes! It was peaceful and quiet. I can’t wait to go back and spend more time next time!
We had a lovely stay at Llama Meadows. The hosts greeted us on arrival. We stayed in the RV part of the camp. It was easy to hook up our camper and water was available right at our site. The setting was beautiful and we went home with freshly picked apples and pears. Highly recommend this campground. We will definitely be back!
Beautiful little campground that’s quiet, peaceful, and a great place to relax and unwind. The host is very friendly, welcoming, and always helpful if you need anything during your stay.
This was our second time staying here, and we enjoyed it just as much as the first. We’ll definitely book again the next time we’re in the area. Highly recommend this campground if you’re looking for a peaceful and relaxing place to stay!
Great site and close to plenty of trails and rivers to explore. Rented site #4 for a group of guys to salmon fish the Betsie river less than 5 minutes away and even though it rained most of the time we had a blast. Betty is an awesome host!
This is a magical place. Betty and Marty were fantastic hosts and so welcoming. The grounds are decorated with amazing art made by their son, and the gardens and orchards are some of the best I've ever seen. I would recommend staying here to anyone and everyone.
Betty’s land was the perfect cozy get away. Betty was very welcoming upon arrival and a ray of sunshine. I enjoyed walking through the prairie in the morning and the peace garden in the evening and ending the night at the communal fire pit. 10/10!
Site 1,2,3 are great. Shady sites all day make for a great morning wake up. Nice and cool. The toilet and teeth brushing station was nice and close. The family is kind.
I did have a weird interaction where I asked a question because i was confused about wording, and got met with “did you read about us, and asked if we were partiers”. All because I asked about a clarifying question regarding the campfire situation. That was off putting, assuming and left a nasty taste in my mouth. But overall, it was a nice stay.
We had a great time at Betty’s place. We tent camped. I appreciated a separate area for people in tents. We had easy access to water. I appreciated access to a hot shower and hot water for washing dishes as well. We enjoyed the communal fire pit. The kids enjoyed running around and swinging on the swings. It was a great experience for our family.
Very welcoming and peaceful setting! Betty was a gracious host to me and my kids. The site has everything you need. Groceries are 5 min away if needed. Recommend for a quiet camping experience.
A beautiful, friendly farm for all. Everything is given so much thought. From the spacing of the campsites to the community fire (w/ homemade popcorn from Betty), to a gorgeous zen garden to walk within. Betty and her family were super welcoming. We hope to be back—to camp or to rent their fabulous apartment that sleeps 6! Highly recommend!
We loved camping on Betty’s beautiful farm. The amenities are great and the location is great and most importantly the energy was just amazing. They’ve created a very special place that feels welcoming to all kinds of folks. Kindness is in the air :) Loved sitting around the campfire getting to know our neighbors and walking the paths in the meadow.
The land, garden, animals and humans are all so lovely, peaceful, heart-opening. Felt like being with family. I will be back and bring others, so incredibly grateful to have found this piece of home to visit and find respite. I stayed in the purple treehouse and tent-camped and both were lovely.
Betty’s campsite is incredible. All the amenities are perfect for groups that want a camping experience with a bit of “glam,” the site was gorgeous and all the people were incredibly friendly. I would absolutely return and I seriously recommend this site to everyone who stumbled upon it!!
This was the perfect place to relax and recharge. The land is beautiful and surrounded by all of what makes Michigan amazing. The campground is incredibly well thought out and cared for. The artsy outhouse was incredibly comfortable and we loved the heated shower after a day at the beach.
Best of all though, were the hosts--they were some of the most lovely, welcoming people we've ever met, and being able to enjoy fresh produce from their garden was such a gift.
I know we will be back and couldn't recommend staying here more.
Betty is the best. Like ever. She is loving-kindness embodied. Her family is amazing and this spot is magical. Honestly. Of all the Hipcamp spots we’ve tried, this is number 1. We will be visiting again for sure!
We had such a lovely week camping near our job site. It really helped us de-stress at the end of each workday. Their amenities are perfect and I loved our basket of farm fresh greens - best snap peas I've ever tasted in my life!! Nice quiet area and the owner has a beautiful, kind, strong spirit whom I loved talking with. Thank you so much!
Betty is so proud and caring about her land and her farm. She and Marty are so welcoming you feel like family. She provides so many amenities, from the well appointed outdoor shower to the outhouse. Providing yummy well
Water and a sink to wash up. So has a beautiful fire pit gathering for travelers to commune. Her son creates and storybook “ tree house” which is inspired by children’s books with a swing set for the children. She has an amazing garden and a peaceful labyrinth. All in all the best Hipcamp run by the most peaceful and joyful souls I have ever met.
Betty’s eco farm is nestled into a little valley that is full of creativity, love, and positive energy. We enjoyed walking around the garden and the many artistic drawings around the property. We enjoyed exploring the area that has so much charm!
Just spent three nights camping at Llama Meadows Farm and cannot recommend it enough. The land is incredibly beautiful, peaceful, and meticulously clean. The host is absolutely amazing and has created a truly special organic sanctuary (the labyrinth peace garden and fruit trees are stunning). If you want a serene, clean, and welcoming getaway in Benzie County, this is it. I will absolutely be back!
We had such a lovely time at the farm. Betty was immediately there to help us and show us around. Our spot was perfect - the lush green grass was an added bonus! This property has an awesome outdoor shower and a very clean outdoor bathroom. We had enough room to spread out and put our badminton net up. We hope to get back here next time we are in Michigan!
This property is close to a grocery store, mini golf + delicious ice cream, Lake Michigan, and Crystal Lake is a MUST! We can’t say enough good things about Betty’s hospitality and her property. ♥️
Absolutely an amazing stay with Betty and Marty! They are truly some of the kindest people on Earth and made us feel so welcomed to their space and the area. I couldn’t recommend them enough and would absolutely love to come back. Jazzybear is a huge bonus too such a sweet dog! :) Thanks Betty <3
We absolutely loved camping with Ms Betty and her great family for the two nights we were here. The sites were clean ansd spaced out enough but not to far from the outhouse and common area. The out house was clean and colorful! The hot water shower was a great pluels at the end of the day. We loved the communal fire pit we met several neighbors and friends the first night that gave us great stories and tips to explore the area. The second night no one else was booked so it was quiet. We did need an extra blanket or 2 it got chilly at nigh. THe screech owl was cool sounding. This is a great location to dunes and we spent an evening checking out the cute little boutiques of crystal lake and other attractions. We definitely will be back to camp!
Had a lovely stay at the purple palace! The treehouse is so cute and comfy, and the land is gorgeous. There were many amenities, and Betty was a fabulous host. Great location with nearby hikes, beaches & grub :)
