We're bounded by the Big Branch Wildlife Reserve to the south and a Rails to Trails bike path on the north. Overall, the land feels primordial and pristine. We are a designated Monarch Waystation and in the spring and fall see many migrating butterflies. We cultivate a lot of flowers so almost year round you can see butterflies in profusion. We are part of the USDAs Conservation Stewardship Program, concentrating on protecting and increasing habitat for animals and pollinators. Pets are welcome but please leash them. Campfires are allowed except on rare occasions. You can hunt for deadfalls in the woods on the farm, or we can provide firewood for a small fee. Our honey, fresh eggs, and homemade sourdough can be purchased as well. This is a rustic situation: think dry camping, outdoor (heated) shower, and outhouses. We have a tiny treehouse, an A-frame, a glamping tent, and several places to pitch a tent. The farm is pretty secure--someone is on-site most of the time, it's gated, and there are security cameras at access points. This place had the best of southeast Louisiana and truly is a hidden gem. We are still in the clearing process so there are alot of projects going on but we definitely have some cool spots to pitch a tent. Host is on property in shipping container and willing to make accommodations as needed as we have electricity but are pretty much off the grid.. do not have an outdoor bathroom but could set something up with little effort. Have running water for solar shower or creek bath if you'd rather. Since we are still rebuilding there are some piles of lumber and things that may be unsafe for small children and animals. I loved my stay at Kat’s little oasis in such a prime location, she went above and beyond during my stay. I am grateful for the time we got to chat, I found her easy to talk to, appreciated her knowledge on the area, local insight and community mindset. Being at the 8 month mark of living in a camper, I can’t describe how incredible it was to have access to all the amenities! Not to mention, she has a dog- what more could you ask for? This was a mildly difficult space to get into as a truck and camper, granted- it was dark and I was by myself- but absolutely doable, and worth it.

We had a magnificent stay! We booked at the very last second because our previous reservation fell through suddenly - and it was a blessing in disguise! This property is so big and full of adventures and projects to look at. Special shout-out to the fishing pond!! My friends and I barely know anything about fishing and we discovered a lifelong hobby!!! The hosts were also incredibly kind & patient & generous with their time/care. From the moment we arrived it felt warm & comfortable. Also the farm dogs are so so so so lovable. We actually miss them - Mo will play fetch for hours and bring you cool trinkets ❤️

Ms. Erica even helped us out with some extra sleeping bags when the night time temps dropped lower than expected. Such a great time! Alicia was a great host. Her husband CJ was friendly from the start and answered our questions. Lovely campground area. Sites are far away enough to feel private but close enough if we needed anything. Bathroom is convenient. Quiet and peaceful, we didn’t mind the early rooster crow and it’s probably not heard unless you’re closer to the animals. We didn’t want to leave. Looking forward to next time! :)

5 nights at Magic River Campground

It has several sites that are good size to the right as you go in. Sign says park yourself and let them know which site. There are 5 sites to the left that are tight. As no one was there we parked in one of those sites. Gravel site was very unlevel but electric, water and sewer worked well. Was quiet where we were. Note: last site does not have sewer.

We absolutely enjoyed our time in the bayou at the Glockner's place!!! The sunsets were amazing. Fishing and crabbing was a lot of fun. Thanks Ron and Amy for your wonderful hospitality. We'll be back. Thank you 😊

They're small but nice bathroom facility worked well for somebody without a bathroom in their camper. It was clean and rarely used. A real bonus in this kind of Campground. Very reasonable!

7 nights at Pelican Gardens

Mark has cultivated a true gem of a space in Algier's Point. I stayed at the tent site for two weeks. It was most days only a 10 minute drive across the bridge for work in the NOLA CBD. I was surrounded by a living garden and it was fantastic. Mark is a lovely human, and it's reflected in his intentional community space. There was also a hot shower and a kitchen I could use. I could not have stumbled upon a better place to be. Thank you, Mark. I'll be back.

Weekend Trip to Opal Springs Nature Haven

Good little piece of property with many options for Tent, Vehicle or rooftop camping. Host is cool, offered to cut some limbs if necessary but wasn’t needed… quiet and peaceful. Good stargazing spot!. Camping creekside next time.

Great spot! The garden is beautyfull & peaceful, especially for being so close to everything. The shower was better than a lot of houses I've stayed in, so yay for that. Definitely a great experience. My favorite was hearing the boat horns & a marching band practicing at the coast guard campus nearby. Love being right on the levee/river.... Thnx!
