Mystic Forest is a small, family-run campground between Klamath, CA, and Crescent City. We have 50 acres of beautiful forest sprinkled with redwood trees. We have restrooms, showers, a game room, a mini golf course, horseshoes, and a half-mile trail. We are pet-friendly. At the office you can find some grocery and redwoods souvenirs. Our laundry facility will be closed indefinitely for repairs starting on August 10th.

Beautiful, flat, surrounded by trees tent site. Tent site #8 has a huge hollow redwood tree, you can walk through it. Hot showers are included. We have a game room (billiards, ping pong, foosball), a mini golf, horseshoes and a half-mile trail in the forest. We are pet-friendly, though no wood scavenging. 4 or 6 person tent will fit but bigger tent won't fit because of the roots. If you have a bigger tent, you may want to take a look at sites #7, 12, 15, 16, 21 or 22. This site is right next to #10, so if you are coming with another family or have a bigger group please ask us if #10 is available.

You have access to all amenities the campground has to offer. The site is suitable for tent camping only, not the best pick for van camping simply because of the way the site is laid out. If you want to van or car camp, then #7, 12, 15, 16 may be better picks :-)

Little, cozy site in the forest. Park right at the site. There is a fire pit, a picnic table and beautiful trees all around, including redwoods. If you have a regular size tent you'll be fine but if you have a bigger tent, you should look at sites #7, 12, 15, 16, 21 or 22. Tent site #11 is adjacent to tent site #13, something to keep in mind if you are traveling with another family or a bigger group. This site is a little cheaper than the other ones because it is smaller.

This is a cozy, smaller size tent site, under some redwood trees. The picnic table is on one end and you can pitch your tent on the other side of the site. Parking is right there at the site. The site has some trees and bushes surrounding it but is not fully secluded. 19B is a no-campfire site (we only have 2 sites that are no-campfire sites, this one and tent site #16B, all other sites you can make a campfire at unless we have a ban). Standard 4-person tents will fit in there. There is a picnic table. You can park right at the site. This site is cheaper because it's a no-campfire site and it is small.

Site is secluded, has a fire pit and a picnic table. The site is suitable for tent camping only, not the best pick for van camping simply because of the way the site is laid out. The parking space has a little grade to it so this site isn't the best for van or car camping. This is probably our smallest tent site. Puma is a 2-bedroom, 6-person RV that we rent out for onsite lodging. A/C, heat, restroom with a shower, fully stocked kitchen with stove and oven, picnic table and fire pit. All linens, sheets and towels, plus blankets are provided. The first bedroom has a queen size bed and the second bedroom has 2 bunk beds plus a pull-out sofa (2 adults + 2 kids or 4 kids could sleep in that room). Total, the Puma could comfortably have 4 adults plus 2-3 kids or 2 adults and 5 kids. 5 adults wouldn't be comfortable. Currently located in a beautiful, secluded spot in the forest. It is next to Birdie The RV, our second RV for rent, something to keep in mind if you are traveling with another family or a bigger group.

She’s an oldie but goodie, she is clean and freshly painted on the inside. Birdie is a 1996 motorhome. She has a full bathroom and a small but fully stocked kitchen with a gas-burner stove top, microwave and small gas oven. Birdie has central A/C, electrical outlets, a TV, and WiFi. She features a queen sized bed in the private back bedroom. The sofa converts to a full-sized bed and the dinette becomes another twin-sized bed. Birdie comfortably sleeps four adults or two adults and three children. All linens, sheets and towels, plus blankets are provided. If you are looking for something bigger, take a look at the Puma which is the other RV we have for rent.

Beautiful, peaceful campground amongst the trees. We really enjoyed our stay. We had the smallest site, 19C, but honestly it was just fine the 4 of us fit comfortably. The only thing to be aware of is there is only 1 bathroom for the entire campground with 2 toilet stalls and 2 showers for each side. So just be aware you may have to wait a bit. But the showers were free and bathrooms were well kept. The location was also perfect because it was right in the middle of all the state/national park areas. About 20 minute drive North/South depending on your destination for the day.

We absolutely loved this campground & will definitely be back! The bathrooms were clean & about a 5 min walk from this site. The hosts were wonderful & they had a cute little store! Game room was fun! We loved the ping pong! Dog run was also amazing for letting our pup run off some energy!! I’d love to get a few friends together and rent sites 20-22! Secluded , spacious sites in the woods!

This place is so special. I loved my little tent site, the sites on both sides were occupied but it still felt very private. The host was so incredibly kind and I had a great time chatting with her. Facilities were clean and conveniently located. Little gift shop at the front was very cute and the coffee was awesome. Make sure to pick up supplies far before you arrive (like in Crescent City if you’re coming from the north) because there are no options around for quite a while (except a tiny convenience store).

This is the second time camping here and my wife and I love it. The tent camping sites are far enough away from each other to make it private. The sites are clean and the scenery is like an old growth forest, making it look ancient and magical. The campsite is minutes from the coast and near trails and other nature sites. We will be back again.

Espresso and charm! Great spot here! Our family camped here for one night, and had a great experience. To our surprise they serve espresso in the store/check in. It was nice to have, considering there wasn't anything except basic coffee within 15 miles or so. Also when we checked in that evening, there was a woman playing beautiful songs on a piano. We look forward to coming back to Mystic!

We liked it a lot. It was close to the highway which didn’t bother us because we’re heavy sleepers. The showers were in good condition and the wifi worked well around the game room (doesn’t extend to sites). The family that runs the campground was lovely and very nice! Our site (6) was pretty small but it had a good amount of privacy and it fit us just fine. All together, very little complaints! Would come again.

I am a lover of the Mystic Forest! Patrick and his beautiful family are very welcoming and have such beautiful souls! They have built something special together! We have fallen in love with the Mystic Forest! Tent site #9 is our favorite site, and only site we've booked for 2 years now. The sites are close together but still offer great privacy. They are Spacious, clean and a short distance to bathroom/ shower/outdoor sink amenities. We took off on our own adventures, but they offer family fun on the RV sites side and trails as well. Firewood is available at the Mystic Forest store. It is located within the redwoods, near Paul Bunyan and maybe a 5 min drive to the ocean views. Further inland is just more adventure! The possibilities are endless! You do hear some road noise, but otherwise it is very quiet!! You will not be disappointed by your host, your location and the beautiful people this place attracts! Tent camping at the Mystic Forest campground went above and beyond my expectations! The owners were incredibly kind and helpful, offering local recommendations and even giving us some steel wool from their home when the store didn’t carry any. The campground has great amenities like a dishwashing station, laundry room and clean bathrooms. 10/10 would recommend!

After experiencing the space, the listing feels a bit misleading. The vibe is more RV park with tent sites stuffed into the spaces around the RVs. While it's true that there is a public bathroom, it has only 2 bathroom stalls and two showers per bathroom. It is also several minutes walk from the further tent sites, meaning it wasn't a viable option for us, especially with a toddler. Overall not impressed with the quality of the public spaces, such as the putt putt; everything felt dated and in disrepair. I did appreciate how peaceful it was (mostly, the highway traffic could get quite loud during the night, but only in bursts) and that the tent sites were so spacious. Location to hiking and tourist sites was definitely a plus.

Excellent Vibes at Mystic Forest!

We had an excellent time at the Mystic Forest Campground! Maya and Patrick have poured so much care and attention to detail into their campground: everything from fresh, fluffy towels stocked in the camper van, to excellent recommendations on what to do in the area. We loved playing horseshoes and exploring the on-site trail after a long day of hiking in the nearby state parks, before collapsing in our cozy, clean RV! A wonderful atmosphere all around!

I know I will be coming back in the near future for a longer stay. I was so happy to find a spot on the coast and didnt expect much- but I was pleasantly surprised. Our campsite was the smallest one, but even that was big enough for our car setup and tailgate tent. The other sites would be perfect for a longer stay. We had our 2 dogs with us and the site had a dog run called "The Bone Yard" that was well maintained and our girls loved it. We sat in there twice on Saturday to let them run and tire themselves out. Maya was incredibly sweet and their little gift shop had adorable locally made treasures and last minute food stuffs. Location was wonderful for checking out the northern California coastline. I would 100% recommend and come again.

Absolutely lovely place to stay with a young kid! Our campsite (#9) was spacious and surrounded by beautiful redwoods. Our camp host, Maya, was kind and charming. We greatly enjoyed chatting with her. She recommended great kid-friendly hikes. The location is perfectly situated to visit the Redwood, Crescent City, and Arcata. The showers are nice and hot, and there is even a dishwashing station. Just felt like a very easy camping trip—lots of amenities while still out in the woods. Our 3.5 year old LOVED playing on the (slightly dilapidated) mini golf course, playing on the slide, tires, and horseshoes, and learning how to play pool in the game room. We ate blackberries, found banana slugs, and climbed around on tree stumps. Can’t recommend highly enough!

The young owners of this park are fantastic I can't wait to see how the place transforms over time. Note to those who are not used to kids, make sure you campsite is away from the kids play area.
