Be near the park, but feel that complete privacy. These sites are very spaced out from each other and are large. No need to cram together! Explore the mines and hang out on our Groveland, California ranch! We have 824 acres on a beautiful cattle ranch with two small ponds. On our property, you'll find frogs, turtles, oak trees, pine trees and stunning views of Yosemite. We have several campsites to choose from including RV camping, tent camping, and a glamping tent. Pets are welcome. Campfires are permitted as long as there is no fire ban. Potable water and toilet are available onsite. There's a golf course less than a mile away. We are also very close to town. In just a few minutes, you can drive to our local grocery store and pizza parlour. We are a 10-minute drive to Pine Mountain Lake. Beautiful Pine Mountain Lake offers golfing, dining, horseback riding, water sports and an airport. When you come to the ranch it feels like you are hundreds of miles away from civilization, but still close to everything you need. It is incredibly peaceful! This is a great place for someone who wants to escape city life and enjoy the tranquillity of nature. Much of the ranch is open wilderness for you to explore, and it's not uncommon to see deer, frogs, turtles, quail, turkeys, or other countless species of birds. Diamond Gulch Camp is the perfect place to relax if you’re a photographer, artist, family or a group of friends looking for a place to camp near Yosemite. A small portion of the property was used as a gold mine years ago, and you may find remnants of old home sites if you go exploring. Welcome to our beautiful 824-acre cattle ranch with two small ponds! The Canvas Bell Tent brings traditional camping to another level. We are located just outside the small town of Groveland and are just 30 miles from the gate of Yosemite. The Bell tent sits on an elevated platform inside an 4 acre fenced area away from the cattle. Your tent comes with a queen bed and bedding, carpeting, and bedside tables. There's running water at the site, which you can use to fill up your water bottles or use for cooking. We also have two rocking chairs on the tent platform where you can sip on a beverage and take in the beauty around you. When exploring our property you'll find frogs, turtles, oak trees, pine trees and stunning views of Yosemite. We're not far from town either -- in just a few minutes you can drive to our local grocery store and pizza parlour. When you come to the ranch it feels like you are hundreds of miles away from civilization and it's really quiet. Everything was great about the campsite, location, firewood, and experience. On a pasture so a bunch of cows around but they're chill. Only downside is they had those blue water portapottys that splash back on your booty. Would have been nice to have the large hole in the ground style. I don't know about you but give me a shovel and a hole any day over those things. Luckily Groveland is right there.

We had a really good experience at Walter’s Mining Camp and would definitely recommend it. The camp host was super friendly, helpful, and accommodating throughout our stay. One of the biggest positives was the amount of amenities around the campground. There are propane showers in multiple locations, plenty of porta-potties, and outdoor sinks for washing up. Everything was stocked and kept clean and well maintained. There’s plenty of shade, fire pits throughout the campground, and what felt like an endless supply of firewood, which was a huge plus. The setting is really cool too. Having cows and turkeys wandering around definitely adds to the experience, especially if you’re camping with kids. This was our four-year-old’s first camping trip, and it ended up being a great place for her. The only real downside was that there were quite a few people staying there, and not every group was particularly courteous. Obviously that’s going to vary depending on who happens to be camping that weekend, so I wouldn’t really hold that against the campground itself. Location-wise, it’s a good option if you want to explore the Groveland and Yosemite area while still being relatively close to town. The Yosemite Welcome Center is about an hour and 20 minutes away, so I wouldn’t necessarily call it close, but it could still work well as a base camp if you don’t mind the drive. Mar-Val’s grocery store is also right down the road, which was really convenient for anything we needed during the trip

The campsite is at a beautiful dpot on a small hill and has beautiful old trees providing shadow. There are stacks of firewood for every site to use. Toilets are basic as advertused but in sufficuebt numbers and clean. We used this campsite as basecamp for visiting yosemite NP which is a little short of an hour away. Groveland is very close by and has a nice general store. Nights are dark with lots of stars. We had a great time here.

Willie’s Place

This space is amazing on so many levels and the care and location of the property are unrivaled. This is just far enough from civilization to feel remote and still 5 minutes from restaurants and a grocery store and not far from Yosemite and other atteactions!! Getting a front row to the cows is so special. The icing on the cake here is FIREWOOD IS PROVIDED and the cherry on top is the host...warm, knowledgeable, and responsive. So grateful!! We will be back!

Great spot! Surprisingly cool even at the end of July due to shady trees and breeze. Quiet and beautiful with cows and other animals wandering around (cows are gated off). Close to Yosemite! Potable water and shower worked great, although porta potty’s weren’t what I’d like, they were clean just full. Super pretty!

Great place outside of Yosemite to camp. About 30-45mins to the Big Oak Flat entrance, and another 45-55mins to Yosemite Valley (1 hour and 20-30mins total). Three shower facilities are outdoors, with hot water from a propane tank. Large old oak trees provide shade at every site. Outdoor sink with running water to wash dishes/hands, free firewood, and a fire pit. Only thing about here that we didn’t really like was the proximity to other campers/the sound travels very easily. Beautiful view of the stars with a pretty dark sky. I would advise to bring earplugs or headphones to sleep so the leaves that fall, cows that mop, and other loud campers, don’t keep you up at night. Overall I would camp here again if going to Yosemite or surrounding parks.

Really good spot, we went for 4th of July and arrow end early on the 2nd and it was just us and other camper. For the busy day on 4th the space was almost full booked but still felt good vibes and all the amenities of the place kept and maintained. I’ll book again if I’m around the area.

Great camping experience! My husband, dog and I stayed here for July 4th weekend. It was pretty crowded (as one might expect) but still enjoyable! The main reason for staying here was the closeness to Rainbow Pool which is our absolute favorite place to get in some creek time for our pup. The site is well signed and easy to find. One of the biggest perks was having ample firewood for the weekend! John was very kind and was around the site a few times a day to check through the site. Thanks for hosting us , John!

We loved our camp site on top of the hill. Gave us the ability to enjoy the cool breezes, look down the hill one way to see the other sites from afar and look the other way to enjoy the view of the valley. All the wood you could use is there with good fire pits. Potable water and portable toilets were on site. We really enjoyed our time and will go back!

Great and convenient spot close to town. I’ve stayed here before in October when it was quite quiet. The showers are fantastic and I love them!! The potties could be serviced more frequently since it’s busier as there are more people staying. That said the host is responsive and delivered TP to all the potties when I let him now in the evening. The land is pretty and lots of spots to choose from. We had lots of turkeys and their chicks pass through which was so fun. So overall, love it - just a bit of improvement would make it amazing.

What a beautiful place to stay! We loved our accommodations at Willie’s. 2 adults and a 5 year old fit just fine. The outdoor showers were a perfect way to end the day. Water was nice and hot. There was even wood for a little fire before bed. The stargazing was fantastic! We will definitely stay there again next time we are in the area.
