Description

If the glamping wonderland of nearby Lake Hasty threatens to drive you batty, the Point Campground is a Spartan alternative with spectacular views of the surrounding reservoir. Generally used as an overflow campground, it offers little aside from vault toilets and that gorgeous unbroken panorama of water and sky. But for some, that’s bound to be just the ticket. A word to the wise: BYOW (bring your own water) and BYOS (bring your own shade).

Visited Memorial Day 2020 in our tents and it was rough. The wind was incessant and merciless. Glad we had our covid masks so we didn't have to eat sand all the time. Ruined 2 of our tents - must have been 40 mile hour winds at night. First time I've left a campsite early. No shelter, no trees on the point, just dust, sand and tumble weeds. Seemed like Lake Hasty over the bridge might have been a little better on the wind. Might be ok in an RV, but not a place to bring tents. Not if it's windy.
