Your camp site is 5 acres in size, and it sits in the middle of a 60 acre meadow surrounded by forest. There is a year round creek. The water is some of the tastiest you'll ever drink. My kids and friends have drunk this water since 2009 and never gotten sick from it. The meadow site has a platform for setting up tents. And for gazing at billions of stars at night.

The Shasta View Meadow is awesome! We stayed here over the 4th of July weekend and it was a great hideout from the holiday business in town/more traditional campgrounds. The water right out of the creek was delicious and cool, and a calming sound to fall asleep to. Plenty of firewood, level wooden platforms, and provided chairs made the stay especially hospitable. As the campsite is rather large, and partially wooded, views of the mountain are best when out in the meadow. Don't forget to check out the amazing view from the hammock or Adirondack chairs!

Magical! We loved our stay at Shasta View meadow. We were camping with our two boys, 2 and 5, and it was the perfect spot for us. We had the place to ourselves. We played in and around tbe pristine stream, went for a walk around the property, and watched the thunder heads roll in. There is a composting toilet which was great, my boys enjoyed the experience. The water was delicious. I can't say enough. I highly recommend this place! Oh, and Gary was very friendly and helpful. Overall wonderful experience.

Our family had a lovely stay at Shasta View Meadow. The view truly doesn't disappoint. A short walk down the lane, and you have an entire vista of Shasta mountain. At the campsite, the babbling brook is refreshing to the body and mind, creating a loop of natural background music to our campsite. We were visited by deer several times and got to observe them in the meadow, yards away. Its a bit off the beaten path - literally, the roads are unpaved. Even though you're 10 minutes from the highway, you'd never know it. Thank you, Gary for sharing your spot with Hipcampers.

I had such a great stay at Shasta View! It's an awesome hidden gem that's far enough from town to be peaceful but close enough to get supplies or explore the nearby areas. It's only about 30 minutes from some of the best hiking trails as well as the base of Mr. Shasta in the area. The decks are great to set up your tent on and the tree house is even more amazing! There's a ravine that flows through the camp that is great to dip into and even clean enough to drink from.

I did have a little trouble getting there at first as the GPS directions had taken me to a closed street but after reaching Gary, he referred me to the original direction he had written on his page which eventually helped me get there. I recommend sticking to the directions he had given on the confirmation. The dirt road to the camp is little rocky so take it slow if you don't have a AWD/4WD. Also, when you pass the brown house on your left and think that is it, keep driving down the road until it becomes rocky then turn left on the next road and you'll eventually see the campsite on your left.

I would highly recommend giving Shasta View a go!

Waking up on the meadow view tent deck! Wow.Mt. Shasta in the early morning from the meadows.Path back to the tree house in the meadows. You can see Mt. Shasta in the background. Pano view of the meadow view deck in the early morning.

This campsite is fantastic! Beautiful views, peaceful, quiet, and well-equipped with firewood, outhouse, platform deck, trash receptacle, etc. We had a fantastic stay and plan to go back to spend more than 1 night next time around! Thanks, Gary, for allowing us to stay on your property and for being so communicative leading up to it!

Shasta View Meadow proved to be a perfect getaway camp spot for the weekend. The view of Mt. Shasta from the meadow area provides an upclosed, unblocked view of the mountain--perfect for both sunrise and sunset. Make sure to bring shoes you don't mind getting wet if you're camping out at the platform. While there is a defined path, the meadow can sometimes be a bit moist.

Really enjoyed our night at Shasta view meadow. The directions were easy to follow to this magical hideaway in the woods. Loved the fire pit, deck and stream all right there to enjoy. I will definitely be coming back in the future. Thank you so much for sharing this amazing spot.

Beautiful view! The road was a bit hard to get down in our honda civic, and it was tricky to find the campsite itself (there are two on the property). But, once settled we loved the view and the gorgeous meadow!
