The vibe at Angeles Crest Creamery
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
We had an amazing time camping at Angeles Crest Creamery, next to the lake in campsite 1. We woke up to beautiful sunrises and birds chirping, took a short, steep hike to a peak with an amazing view, met and petted the goats, fell asleep to a sky lit with stars and the Milky Way. But perhaps best of all, we got to eat the meals that Gloria and Christian delivered to our tents, featuring ingredients from the farm....they were so delicious. We look forward to going back!
Great place to get away too and not far from LA! Our hosts were helpful and around, but not on top of us. We were able to explore the property and set up our camp in relative seclusion. The bathroom facilities, while rustic, are super cute. It's the perfect mix between camping and farm living, and you can be as involved as you want. Will definitely go back!
This farm is super unique. There was a lot of privacy for us to pitch out tent and hang out with the kiddos. The highlight was definitely the goats and dogs and the donkey hanging out in their picture perfect barn, these animals are seriously well looked after! My daughter was super proud to be given an opportunity to milk a goat. We didn't order breakfast or food, but wish we had of, it looked delicious! The kids also LOVED the fresh milk they tried...I honestly thought they would think it too 'goaty' ;) but no, it was mild, very creamy and very delicious. The bathroom was very clean and pretty.... built from locally gathered stones it seems. No fires allowed which is the only drawback, but understandable given the location. Perfect location for a quick getaway from it all from LA! Thanks Angeles Crest Creamery!
My cousin and I had an amazing experience at Angeles Crest Creamery! Christian and Gloria could not have been more hospitable, they didn't even mind us asking way too many questions about their herd.
Also, the sauna was THE BEST! And order at least one of their ranch meals, we definitely had FOMO by not ordering breakfast to go along with our dinner order.
We plan on coming back very soon.
We stayed here for one night to watch the Perseid meteor shower in the darkness of Gloria's lovely lakeside camp site. Gloria is very kind and went above and beyond to be hospitable, driving us and our gear into the campsite as we didnt have an SUV to get down the short dirt road, inviting us to watch the goats get fed and milked and even helping us look for our cell phones ater we lost them. The campsite was clean with a badminton net and gear set up, a picnic table, and some camping chairs to relax. The compostable toilet was clean and smelled fine. At night you can hear insects and frogs, dogs barking and the occasional goat bleating. There's a great swath of sky for prime star viewing and in the daytime there are oak trees for shelter. We enjoyed ourselves and would recommend it!
We had the BEST experience here. Stayed on campsite 1 which has the most beautiful view of the property lake. A perfect mix of privacy as well as the ability to view the activities of the farm. Gloria and Christian were incredible hosts, friendly and accommodating. It's the little things... We forgot a wine opener and they delivered one right to our site! Christian shared with us his delicious pine infused water. The experience of the goats and other farm animals was out of this world. We weren't quite sure what were were getting ourselves into but wow. My personal favorite was Henry-- the super human friendly Donkey:) I really can't wait to come back!
Spent a beautiful weekend tent camping on Gloria's land with a friend and our respective kids. We loved varied native landscapes, the chance to be spend a couple of days as part of a sustainable system at work, and the clean food deliciously prepared and delivered with coffee to our tents in the morning. Our boys (6, 9 & 10) loved spending time with the goats, donkey, chickens and dogs and left begging to go come back ASAP.
This was an outstanding location and visit! We traveled with three kids, and they all had a fantastic time "herding" goats, meeting the other farm animals and hiking the local trails. We even had one goat "Mix" that would visit with our family throughout the day. It was an outstanding exposure to modern small farming.
You should know, we traveled late in the fall, and you need to plan for un-predictable weather. The days are quite nice, but it can easily drop below freezing at night.
My kids are already talking about going again - I can't recommend this fantastic location enough!
