We have a 7 acre developing hobby farm currently with fruit trees, a garden, a king shepherd named Jack and a cat named Lulu. You may see some of our neighbour's ducks walking around and hear their rooster in the morning. Please note; our driveway is an uphill, switchback driveway so long trailers are not a fit for our location. Front wheel or 4 wheel is a plus but typically all vehicles can make it up our driveway. We have 2 swimming holes near and backing our property. At the back of the property is Hayward Lake/Hairsine Creek which is great for swimming. Inflatable paddle boards are the way to go if you wish to paddle board in the lake since it would be difficult portaging a rigid paddle board down the Crown Land trail. On the front is the Stave River Runoff. This has trails and is ideal if you have smaller children as the water is a bit warmer and has shallow areas. There are hiking trails in the area and a beach area a short drive from the sites.

Site 6 is located at the top of our property, behind the stables. It is fairly private and is next to the trail that leads down to Hayward Lake. Once section of the trail is fairly steep, so be careful. There is no sandy beach; it is a forested access to the lake. Once you are in the water…it’s great! Site 6 is next to Site 5 and is therefore a good spot for multiple families if both spots are available for booking! You can fit 3 smaller tents on this site (if needed) and you can move the picnic table to make the site suit your needs.

Site 5 -Adults/Group/Family

Site 5 is located behind our stables, next to Site 6 and near the entrance to the trail to the lake. It is perfect for two tents and two vehicles. Sites 5 and 6 are next to each other and are good spots to book if you have a larger party. Note that the neighbour's home is within view through the trees, however it is still fairly private and we have had excellent reviews of this site. Note that there is a fairly steep part of the trail down to the lake, so take care when hiking down. The lake access itself is a forest access. There is no sandy beach area here. If you have young children you can take them across the street to the Stave River where there is more of a gradual water entry.

This site is located about halfway up our 3/4 km driveway. It is a nice flat pullout spot on one of the hairpin corners on the driveway. It is perfect for a couple tents or a vehicle with a roof tent. You have views of the Stave River and amazing sunsets. Easy access to the Stave River by walking down the driveway and crossing the street to the trail. Expect the occasional car to drive by. Nearest other site is about 300 ft away. Has composting toilet. Access to the lake is a 5 minute walk up the driveway and then a 3 minute walk down the trail to the lake. PLEASE NOTE; We do not recommend this site for children. Site 5 and 6 are better suited for them.

Site 1 is located nearer the bottom of our driveway on the deep flat corner. There are spectacular views and sunsets. This site is not recommended for children given the steep slopes nearby. It is a short walk down the driveway where you can access the river which is perfect for kayaking and paddle boarding. The next closest campsite is about 500 feet away. Given that this site is on our driveway, please expect the occasional car to drive by. PLEASE NOTE; Site 5 and 6 are better suited for children.

This is our smallest site and is good for two adults. PLEASE NOTE: This particular site is a very small site, good for 1 tent and a car, or a vehicle with a roof top tent. Good for two adults.  THIS SITE IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR CHILDREN AS THERE IS A STEEP SLOPE ON THE ONE SIDE. The site is located near the top of our 3/4 km driveway in a forest setting; across from our pump house.  Please expect occasional vehicles passing by as the Site is on our driveway, however this is not excessive. The next nearest site is about 400 feet away. Arrangements can be made for you to park your vehicle elsewhere to give you more space.

Large site on the deep lawn area of our house and is fenced in. Has some privacy but the main house is in view. Close to garden and farm animals. Cedar Picnic Table and composting toilet tent. The favorite spot of many campers who have young kids as the area is fenced in. Access to the trail for the lake is a 1 minute walk away (just behind the stables). Note there are no hookups. It is best to bring your own drinking water Can hold a group of up to 10 people, however additional guests of over 4 adults is $12 per guest per night. Also $10 per night for each vehicle over 2 vehicles No dogs allowed on this site.

NEW Glamp Site - Summer 2025!! Site for up to 2 adults only. (We have made exceptions for parents and teens or small families. Please contact us for these adjustments.) Situated at the top of our property, this site backs up against a small hill and trees with a view of our field and old chicken coop. The field is quite flat with tall grass. Young apple and cherry trees are situated along the outside edge of the area, which leads to other camp sites. This site includes a large canvas bell tent (with covering fly), placed on a 20x26 deck, which has a queen sized bed, 2 coffee chairs, a wicker dresser filled with activities/books/spare sheets/towels, a couch and fun paper lanterns fitted with fairy lights . On the deck you will find an outdoor storage unit which includes cooking supplies, a basic first aid kit, bug spray, propane burner and a sink. We have supplied coffee/tea, powdered milk and sugar. There is also a picnic table, composting toilet outhouse, 2 fire pits (traditional plus a propane ring), camping chairs, a foam cooler, propane fridge, garbage bin and recycling bin. At night time solar lights will provide a dimly lit area for you. There is no power hookup and no plumbed water on site. ALTHOUGH, we do have a solar charger to use upon request. We also provide a full 5 gallon water container for you, which is from a local artesian spring which comes off a hillside. Water can be replenished by simply sending us a text. Hayward Lake is a 5 minute hike down a forest / animal trail through Crown land. On the Hayward Street side is the Stave River where you can swim, paddle boarding or kayak. Just a 1 minutes drive from the property is a public parking lot that leads to a beach area with a designated swimming area in Hayward Lake. Just be certain to get there early! There are many amenities within 3 minutes from the property, including 4 gas stations (cheap gas), beer and wine store, Starbucks, Triple O's, Subway and Fresh Slice Pizza. Mission City is only 10 minutes away should you need to go shopping. We have a Walmart, Superstore, Save On Foods and a Freshco to name a few. Simply bring your food and toiletries and you are good to go! Coffee and tea are provided.

The property is beautiful with an amazing forest and stunning lake. Brent was very helpful (never met Sherri). I definitely wouldn't have booked the site if I knew it was up a steep driveway with about 3 switchbacks. I was driving a fully loaded old camper van pulling a small motorcycle trailer (also loaded with motorcycle and totes) and it was hard on the van, also had to back up and jackknife the trailer on a couple of the switchbacks. One suggestion I have (and already mentioned to Brent) is if they mark clearly on their main bio of the land that their driveway is not recommended for any kind of bigger units. Also if its wet, 4x4 would be better. Luckily it was dry when we arrived. I read through their page and didn't notice the one smaller spot they mention about the driveway. Brent was very helpful and also offered to pull my trailer down the driveway the next morning for us and that felt very supportive so he definitely made up for it! Haha. Thank you so much Brent for your kindness.

I loved tent camping here, the walk down to the lake is quite short, and not too complicated for anyone who’s used to walking in forests. it was super calm at night, very relaxing. directions were clear and brent and sherri were very welcoming :)

Sherri and Brent are such great hosts, always so friendly and welcoming. We've been coming to Hayward to camp for years and they're always making improvements to the sites. We were so excited to check out their new glamping option this year and it did not disappoint. Everything you need and so cozy. Can't wait to visit again soon!

We were supposed to spend our stay at site 6 yet Brent and Sherri were kind enough to upgrade us to the “Glamping” site. The site was so much fun and the farm was beautiful. I’d recommend Brent and Sherri’s farm as an amazing getaway and will hopefully be back soon!

The lake was so incredibly beautiful and such a good place for my first time camping, I would recommend this place to everyone!! The hosts were so sweet and friendly to my group as well as through hipcamp. We will be back next year for sure.

Private access to lake shared with the public, gets busier on the lake in hotter summer months during the day and into late morning, spacious camping spots on private property, iconic old growth forest leading to the water (the hike down is steep in areas, but the view is very picturesque and heard many birds occupying the space), there are chickens, roosters, and bunnies in the nearby yard that belong to a homeowner (love all the animals!), there are many ways to connect with nature here (living off the land/more off-grid approach, stargazing on the water, hiking along the trail, birdwatching and listening, swimming in the lake, and reconnecting with nature with plenty of greenery to go around). The drawbridge that connects from both land points on the water is NOT connected, so proceed with caution, but upon further evaluation, will be up and running hopefully very soon. Overall, what a lovely experience to have in Canada, as I will be back to relive it all over again in the future!!

Great little spot! Private and large. Little walk to the lake and there was a massive swim dock and hardly any people. Site 6 had no afternoon shade but site 5 looked like it had plenty. Trains and planes all day and all night. Outhouse was clean and close by. Enjoyed our weekend!! Thanks so much.

The camp site was pretty great, it was located on the side of a road heading to the property so we would have cars passing by every now and again but it didn’t take away from the experience. It’s so close to so many good places to explore.

Beautiful property, excellent views, attentive host and hostess. Hayward Farms was a great spot during a two month road trip from Michigan to the Pacific Coast from southern California to British Columbia . We stayed 5 nights at 3 different campsites here, toured waterfalls and hikes and sites nearby and visited friends in Burnaby. Hipcamp has been a great alternative when traveling and you need a campsite on short notice . Brent and Sherri accommodated us famously.

A rejuvenating place to relax both in your campsite and at the nearly private area of Hayward Lake that you can reach in less than five minutes by foot. Warmly welcomed by both Sherri and Brett , making sure we were, as well as our dogs, comfortable. Look forward to coming back for more days to relax and unwind.

Kind host, isolated campsite with good distance to other ones (30m+), decent outdoor eco washroom, access to amazing lake, koyark pad board and life vests available, 10 minutes driving to gas station and Tim Hortons.... What else do you need? Oh, no need to rush in to book like for public campsite. I will come back every year.

My son and his friend had such a fantastic time staying at Brent and Sherri’s campsite! From the very start, Sherri and Brent were incredibly helpful, friendly, and extremely accommodating. Their communication was amazing — always quick to respond and willing to answer any questions. They truly went above and beyond to make the stay enjoyable. The boys especially loved having kayaks available to rent, which became one of the highlights of their trip. They had so much fun out on the water. I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out, and my son couldn’t stop talking about how great it was. I would 100% recommend staying at Hayward Farms, we will definitely be booking with them again. Thanks again for everything !

Site 2 had a great view I had a van and it was a bit dodgy, making the turns in order to position myself on the side maybe that’s my lack of driving expertise, but I found it challenging Something probably should’ve been mentioned about the bears and I wonder at the garbage rules as there were open garbage cans maybe requiring campers to keep all their garbage and food in the vehicle as it is bear country. Other than that, the host were welcoming responsive invited me to pick berries in the garden and it was in a convenient location for going to the BC Hydro, Visitor Center, Rowley Lake and the other lake. Composting toilet was not really a toilet, but that’s camping!

Nice and simple, easy to find with the instructions the host sent. It was a bit noisy (trains, vehicles) but we slept well anyways :) They provide a 5 gallon water jog which was much appreciated!

The site is small and should only be booked for small tents or maybe a camper van. It is Great value for the area but unfortunately was too small for our large glamping lodge tent. We ended up pushing further into the lower mainland, but Brent reached out immediately and to see what he could do for us and offered us a complimentary night in the overflow our next stay. Great people who really care about their guests. Just if you have a big tent or require space contact the hosts first to find out what site would best suit your needs.
