We absolutely loved this mini motel experience! Samantha was very responsive the entire time, and Dave, one of the caretakers who met us there, was friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable about the area!
The mini motel room is small but perfect for a single or couple. The room was clean and cool when we checked in, and we loved having the covered patio in front so we could be outside the room without having to be in the sun. The chairs *outside the room* weren’t in great shape, but the adorable community area right next to the motel has picnic tables, chairs and barbecues for public use, and we spent a good deal of time there. It’s shaded for the daytime, and well-lit for the nighttime.
The property is located in a neighborhood in the town of Meadview, but even with the neighbors around, another guest, and Dave on the property, we had plenty of space and privacy when we wanted it. The main road is paved, and the dirt road to the property is well-maintained.
We highly recommend checking out the nearby coves for a lovely water and nature experience too! We saw a ton of wildlife down there, and the water was perfect for swimming. Grand Canyon West is also very conveniently located about a 30min drive away.

We had a great time at this little gem. Samantha was very responsive prior to booking, she answered all of my questions I had. This place a real authentic motel feel. Wish I could post the pictures I was able to get. The stars a night we’re incredible, we were able to see the Milky Way with the naked eye. What made our stay very unique and special was Scarlett. She was so willing to help us and took us off roading, site seeing, and showed us her horses. Very unique and special experience.

While on a roadtrip to CA from TX, my initial plans to camp out turned out to be a bad idea due to an excessive heat warning. Last minute, I booked with Samantha. She was very communicative and answered all my questions that made me feel safe and secure to stay in the Gypsy trailer. The only feedback I'd give was that it was weird to be told the key to the trailer was "stolen", so I was a little anxious going to bed, but overall it went well. I do wish the name of the trailer could change though since the term gypsy is offensive to many people. But the stay itself, and my interactions with Samantha were both great. I would book again, and it was really cool waking up and being able to see the Grand Canyon in the distance.

Samantha, her daughter, and Dave were fabulous hosts. Their vintage motel is the perfect desert getaway! Staying here was a great experience and I even caught my first bass at the lake!

The trip to Happy Trails was enjoyable. The hosts were very friendly and outgoing; they offered plenty of amenities for a camper’s needs. The individual site descriptions appears to be generic to the entire property, which consists of several camp trailers (Glampers) and a few minutes-motel rooms. The glampers and motel rooms offer different amenities, which I found confusing when reading through my reservation description (e.g. glampers have kitchen utensils, motel rooms do not). Overall a pleasant location and would stay again, if I were in the area.

Thank you for the review Joe. Glad you had a nice time. It was great to have you. I looked at the far option to see where I made it confusing and updated things so it's more clear.. thank you for pointing that out.! Happy Trails on your other travels.! Samantha and Family

We had a wonderful stay and felt very welcomed! The desert was so beautiful and it is off the beaten path, so it was great to go for some peace and quiet. The lake is only a 15 minute drive away. There is a great outdoor area with barbecues, so we made an awesome dinner and looked at the stars. The room was so cute and comfortable. We will definitely be back!
