If you are feeling adventurous, explore the thick 16-acre cedar, fir, maple and alder forest beyond the meadow, or spread out into the hundreds of open acres that surround Grey Owl Hollow. Black-tailed Columbian deer are regular visitors, and we play host to mountain beavers, 'possum, and even the occasional black-bear as well!

We are firm believers in the value of time in the woods as a balm for physical, psychological, and emotional distress.  Seth, your host, is a certified Forest and Nature Therapy guide, and two hour guided walks are available as an extra with your booking.

We are within easy driving distance of a number of state and national parks, and are about 45 minutes from the front gate of the Olympic National Park - one of the most beautiful and famous in the country.

Grey Owl Hollow is actively working on habitat restoration, forest health, and fire resiliency.  We are committed to helping these 20 acres thrive and heal from decades of exploitation.

These hosts have gone above and beyond in preparing this site for campers. Not only is it a peaceful sanctuary to stay at for the night, its large and inviting enough for larger groups of friends to join in as well. The layout of the camping sites are perfect, and resemble a higher quality State/National Park campground, with more amenities and cleaner surroundings. I couldn't recommend this campsite enough, it was truly refreshing.

Starting the campfire for dinner. The trees in the forest are the perfect type for setting up a hammock between. The barn located on the property. The open field, great for roaming around. Mt. Rainier can be seen from it on a clear day!

We were the first official Hipcampers at Grey Owl Hollow. We experienced a very relaxing and quiet stay. Camp host, Seth was great with communication and keeps his special campground in wonderful shape. We enjoyed bike riding on the Willipa Hills Trail near by.

What a hidden gem! Seth’s campsites were everything described and more! The bathrooms were very clean and convienient there are multiple picnic tables and even a sink nearby to wash dishes. The two kids in our party loved the swings. We were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves this weekend, and enjoyed the peace and quiet while walking the labyrinth. Hope to return next summer!

The campsite was very well maintained. Trash & recycling available on site. The bathroom & sink were in great condition. We enjoyed taking walks in his field. We loved the laterns at night. The location was remote enough it was very quite at night but about 15 minutes from town where you can catch a good meal if you do not want to cook. Mima falls trail is about 30 minutes away for a day hike. Would recommend to anyone who is staying in the area!

Seth and Yvonne were beyond amazing hosts and Grey Owl Hollow is a beautiful work of love and labor. I just came home from three nights in the Narnia campsite with me, my husband, our 10 month old daughter, and two other couples with one other toddler. It was my first time using HipCamp and I was really nervous about what to expect because 1) pictures can be deceiving and 2) the world is a scary place right now and driving to some random person’s property to spend the night was kind of intimidating. But any hesitation faded when we drove in and met our hosts. If you’ve been feeling the way I have, I really recommend Grey Owl Hollow.

Getting to the specifics, the campsite was big and well maintained with a picnic table and fire pit. There were also citronella lanterns on trees throughout the campground to ward of mosquitoes. Which was necessary because there were a few. There was potable water through a sink and hose in the central area of the campground and the bathrooms were a short walk up a small hill. The bathrooms were above expectations as they were flushing and there was a sink with running water to wash hands. The “privy” has a shower and is made entirely out of cedar. Everything felt very safe and clean during COVID-times. We were easily able to social distance with other campers.

The property itself is gorgeous with Seth and Yvonne doing a ton of work into restoring clear cut land by invasive plant removal and intentional planting of native plants. The orchard was perfect for the little ones to run around in and not get lost. We had plans to leave the property to do things in the surrounding area but we actually ended up spending more time just relaxing in up under the apple trees and around the campfire. The long weekend went by way too fast and we wish we were still there.

Also! We quickly learned why it’s called Grey Owl Hollow. There’s a big barn up the hill that’s home to a few owls you can hear hooting. Along with the owl, there’s sounds of the bull frogs and a donkey Seth and Yvonne adopted. Yvonne brought their goat down to meet our kiddos at one point, too, so definitely a treat for little ones who like animals!

Thanks again to our hosts. We’ll be back soon!

Seth’s camp was awesome. This was our first hipcamp experience and I’m glad we got to have it there. Very clean, the bathroom is great. We were the only ones there that night so it was very quiet and private for us. We didn’t meet Seth the night but we arrived, but he had come down and lit the lamps for us. He came down to the camp the next morning to say hello. Seth is an awesome guy and we wish we had more time to chat with him. I would highly recommend staying here!

Interesting place. Would come again. Seth made the sites look professional and clean. It was loaded with amenities which other camping spots don't have, like a shower and sink. The little details add up to your comfort and cozy experience. I love the swing!

I want to leave 100’s 5-star reviews for Seth’s place!! BEST hipcamp we’ve ever stayed at, hands down. Arrive country-side to a clean, well-lit and very thoughtful campsite. Seth is a real artist who has made thoughtful touches everywhere including bathrooms, a shower with HOT water & fire pits. This location is just right, wooded with lots of places to explore right on the property. Absolutely recommend.
