ABOUT OUR CAMPGROUND:   The Needles District of Canyonlands National Park visitors center is only 1.5 miles away.  We are approximately 1.5 hours from Arches and approximately 2 hours from Island in the Sky.  You do not need 4wd to get to our place.  Set up your own tent in one of the sites YOU CHOOSE YOUR OWN SITE UPON CHECK-IN with a beautiful wide open view of the Needles "hoodoo" rocks with the park only a stone's throw away. BATHHOUSE : There is a Bathhouse with Showers and Flush Toilets. Showers are with a Token and must be purchased during store hours. The bathhouse is shared with other campers and gets dirty. We are surrounded by red dirt. Toilets get clogged, it happens in any public bathroom. It is cleaned everyday. The bathhouse is under renovation. ABOUT THE AREA : There are several hiking trails in the area as well as bicycling & 4 wheel drive trails on BLM (public land).

This IS the Wild, Rustic, Dirty Desert, not for Everyone.  This is Camping & keep in mind this is a rugged camping experience not for the faint at heart. The desert is Hot in the summer and cold in the winter, the weather is Unpredictable and you May experience our Wild storms...Monsoon season runs from July-August which is amazing if you are into photography. Be sure to bring proper gear for the rain (if we get any).

You may hear coyotes, see spiders, experience the annoying desert gnats at certain times of the day during the hotter summer season. You will want to bring bug spray, but if you forgot we do sell it in our camp store. If you stay with us you will get the experience of desert camping, wild, raw and rugged. It is an amazing experience to be had, with beautiful views and the feeling of freedom that is hard to find in more civilized and populated locations.

The rocks nearby are kid friendly, great for climbing and taking amazing photos of our fantastic views and gorgeous sunsets.

Hipcamp messages, email, and texts are the best way to reach us.  We are off the grid with poor cell phone reception. The WRITTEN DIRECTIONS will be at the bottom of your screen

We really enjoyed our campsite! The views were spectacular and it was very easy to get to the Needles. Everything was very close and our hosts were very easily accessible and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again!

Great location, within a mile or two of the Needles Canyonlands park entrance. Camp bathrooms were clean and stocked with TP. Most of the sites are spread out enough to give you some privacy. Amber was cool to deal with and very responsive. TIP: It is remote, about 45 minutes away from the closest town, so check your supplies before you drive all the way in.

Staying at the Needles Outpost campground far exceeded my expectations. Not only were we staying about a quarter mile from the park entrance, but the site upkeep was impeccable and had all the amenities we could possibly need (bathrooms, $3 hot showers, fire pits, picnic tables, general store with snacks and drinks, ice, firewood, and clean campsites). The view from the campground is of the Needles district on one side, and beautiful red rocks on the other. I could have stayed for a month.

There is no cell service at the campground, so plan accordingly. However, the hosts do offer 24-hour wifi from the outpost general store for a few bucks a day. Amber and her husband were extremely helpful, welcoming, and kind, and do a great job at making sure your stay is comfortable.

We can't wait to go back for longer!

Due to car trouble I didn't make it to the sight. Amber was so helpful and even offered places to go for help. Wish we could have stayed at this beautiful sight.

Staying at the Needles Outpost was a great experience. Being right on the outskirts of Canyonlands, the view was amazing but the location was conveniently right by the highway. The campground was very clean and well kept and the owners were extremely friendly, helping us with directions and anything we needed. The campsites weren't as far apart, and the area wasn't as big as expected but still could not complain. Very quiet and peaceful with a beautiful view of the desert. Thank you!

Beautiful location. So close to the entrance of the national park - super convenient for going in and out of the park. Kids loved all the rocks to climb on during our stay. Hosts were very accommodating. Bathrooms were clean.

Really nice spot just outside Canyonlands NP. Good views, decent facilities with super-hot shower. Chill, quiet, respectful campers (except for the woman ignoring the sign asking people not to wash their dishes in the bathroom sink). We'd stay here again, definitely.

My husband and I enjoyed our time at this campsite. Amber was super helpful and very friendly. Needles Outpost is quiet, calm, and has all the necessary things that one needs for camping (i.e., fire pit, picnic table). I was also amazed at how close this site is to the entrance of Canyonlands NP.

Great experience! The store is great and the hosts are kind and gracious. Make sure you keep your trash under control as the ravens will make quick work of it! Location is terrific!!
