This campground isn’t very secluded considering it’s right by a town. Granted, that town is the park’s ‘prairie dog town,’ and thus the town folk are adorable, but we figured we should let you know anyway. It’s pretty far removed from any human town, but you’re still not deep in the wilderness. In fact, there is an oil pump within earshot of the campsites. Most people notice the rhythmic noise it makes but aren’t bothered by it, however if you’re looking to completely escape from the world of man then this might be a deal breaker for you. Otherwise, the sites have good amenities (picnic tables, restroom access, water access, and optional electric hookup), are broad and flat, and even include equestrian sites with a corral and covered stalls. It’s a great campground for families and RV’s, just don’t let the nearby town raid your picnic.
