I grew up at West Branch. Literally. (town of Wayland on that map) The campgrounds are pretty basic, but the lake and surrounding area are lovely. There are horseback riding trails, and when I was a kid there were ATV trails as well (don't know whether there still are) and a ton of hiking trails. Wildlife is abundant - coyotes, blue herons, deer etc. When I was a kid - as long as you weren't bathing the horses with soap, you could swim the horses in the lake! We would also go fishing, swimming, waterskiing, etc. Just went hiking there with my dad the last time I visited.
