Inundated by the area’s sixty-seven-acre Lake Absegami, soundtracked by the lake’s reproductive waterfowl, Bass River State Forest is a biotic gem amongst the state’s outlining smoke stacks. Directly south of it’s northern campground cousin, this southern stretch of campsites are located within a strong cast of the area’s alluring body of water. And, rippled with healthy populations of game fish, South Shore Campground is baited for the angling savvy among us.

If you arrive after 4pm - the office will be closed, go straight to your campsite and register in the morning.

My husband, pitbull pup and I stumbled upon Bass River State Forest last year and have already made it an annual must! The sites are both beautiful and quiet and you're only steps to hiking and the water. South Shore Campground
