Description

There is a lot to be fired up about at Nevada’s oldest and largest state park. At the Valley of Fire State Park we’re talking blazing red rocks, petrified wood, petroglyphs, hiking, and the eye popping beauty of the southwestern desert. You are going to want to bring your camera and you are going to want to spend a night or more here. At the Atlatl Rock Campground you can set up home base easily, and then get out and explore til sundown. Afterwards, kick back and look up for a spectacular starry sky to lull you to sleep. This is much better than the lights of Vegas if you ask us.

A beautiful campsite that fills up really fast, so make sure to get there early.
First campground i've been to that has wifi available, and access to water at the individual sites

Wonderful hikes and so many different types of landscapes in such a small area. It was the perfect 3-day weekend.

Wonderful welcome, calm and with everything I needed. Went there with my bicycle in summer 2017.

Love the rock formations all around (and in!) this campground. Picnic tables at every site with shade covering. Easy to walk around and scramble up on rocks. We had no problem finding a first-come, first-served site on a Sunday afternoon.

Absolutely love this campground. Drive through for the best spots hidden up in the rock formations. This park is beautiful and there are many places to scramble among the rocks and take some beautiful photos. Nice showers available at the other campground in the park as well.
