If you like to fly by the seat of your pants when it comes to finding a place to pitch your tent, Lewis Lake Campground may have a late day first-come, first-served spot still waiting for ya! The early bird may get the worm, but the late Lewis Lake camper get’s the moose, this area has some of the best viewing of these giant guys along the shores of the lake. Not only that but you can pop your canoe or kayak in the water and paddle your little heart out all the way to Shoshone Lake...just remember you gotta paddle back! Bring yourself plenty of grub for the fire pit and a water source if you’re coming in the fall. The rest at Lewis Lake is fly by the seat of your pants fun!

I really enjoyed this campsite. It is close enough to the Tetons to take a day trip over to that park and also close enough to Grant Village for a shower if you would like to take out. I loved the tent campsites because you were far enough from your neighbors to have privacy. One note is that non of the campsites are right off of the lake but they are all walking distance and it is worth watching the sunset at night.
