We are a private destination resort specializing in providing guests with an authentic San Juan Islands getaway. We have been an Orcas Island lodging and hotel destination since 1938. Stay in our fully-equipped beachfront cabins on our world class walk-out, west-facing, sand/pebble beach and watch the sunset as you relive the day’s adventures from your private beach fire pit. Camping in the San Juan Islands is a spectacular experience. Guests have been enjoying camping at West Beach Resort since the 1930s. Our walk-in campsites will have you enjoying the natural beauty of the San Juans while having access to all of the West Beach Resort amenities. Choose a site that is open and sunny, private and shady, or a mixture of both. All sites have a picnic table, firepit with grill, and WiFi. A cheerful, clean shower house with free showers nearby, and it's only a short walk to the beach, West Beach Cafe and Store, and marina. Shower house is closed mid November through early March with an outhouse available during these times. Sites are rated for three with a maximum occupancy of six. We face due west for spectacular sunsets, and our beach is a world class, walk-out, sand and pebble beach. Enjoy a complimentary beach bonfire on request during our off-season and daily from mid June through mid September. Our on-site cafe features gourmet Caffe Vita espresso, oven baked pizza made-to-order, Lopez Island Creamery ice cream and shakes, shave ice, local draft beer and cider in chilled WBR pint glasses, and full grocery offerings including cold beer/pop, wine, toiletries, bait, ice, and more! West Beach Resort deluxe Tent Cabins are comfortable, cozy units designed to allow you to enjoy the benefits of camping without the need to bring and set up your own equipment! Each Tent Cabin is a spacious 14x16 feet with a private deck and flower boxes. The canvas structure is elevated on a deck platform and has a queen bed, futon, table and chairs, park-style bbq grill with utensils, firepit, and picnic table. We also include linens, towels, basic toiletries, a bundle of firewood, and matches. There is plenty of grassy space off the front patio for your use. Enjoy an evening of BBQing, then settle down in the cedar Adirondack chairs and make that perfect S’more you’ve been talking about all year long! Non-view units have no power or water. A central light and flashlight are included as part of your arrival kit. Pets allowed in certain units. Our Tent Cabins are a short (30 second) walk to the shower house for toilets, free showers, and a dishwashing sink. All Tent Cabins are rated for 2 but can sleep up to 4.

West Beach Resort is amazing! So many things to do (kayaking, ping-pong, sunsets, bonfire, etc). And free hot showers - luxurious! The cafe serves excellent coffee (with oat milk if you want) and snacks. My only feedback is that the hot tub wasn't hot, and most of the campsites are close together without much shade or privacy. But I'm definitely coming back!

West Beach Resort was the perfect getaway! If you need an all inclusive spot to camp (or cabin) this is THE place. Easy access to a (hot!) shower and WiFi made this the most luxurious camp spot. Super clean, super friendly and super beautiful views. Can’t wait to go back!

Loved our weekend camping here! Had everything you could want for a campsite, plus amenities! The little cafe and store had great food and drink, plus any extras you might forget. Literally only piece of feedback is that I wish it were easier to tip the staff who prepared our food. They were so sweet; but you have to tell them how much you want to tip them while they’re ringing up your order. Suuuuuuuper awkward, not the best way to ensure the team working on site and helping crate atmosphere is taken care of. Otherwise, truly amazing place! We will be back.

I loved my stay at west beach resort. I stayed in a tent camp site. The camp site was clean and also quiet at the edge of the property but only a short walk to the beach. There is also parking by the beach for those who prefer not to walk. The bathrooms were clean and a short walk away from the camp site and the porta potty that was even closer to the campsite was also very clean. The camp store was cute and had food, drinks, and other items such as firewood and other camping supplies. The staff was very friendly. The only thing I will note is that the potable water was kind of weird-tasting so I opted to go to town to buy gallon jugs of water. The campground is a short 9 minute drive to the town of East Sound. I would definitely stay here again and plan to come back next year.

Great camping spot. Has everything you need from free showers to little store/ cafe. The pier is so relaxing to walk on then sit and enjoy the beautiful view. Very dog friendly. Lots of fun activities to do. Would definitely recommend this place with only one caveat, the ferry cost was ridiculous. So Check before you go over with a trailer.

Camping was really fun and made the the jump back in to camping really easy. Staff was really nice and helpful, with an easy going, laid back vibe, which really sets the tone for the place. They thought of just about everything. Coffee shop / Cafe, small store with the necessities. Bonfires at sunset, Laid back island vibe music playing at the cabana all day. The list goes on and on. The bathrooms were always clean with warm/hot showers. The access to the beach and dock was a really nice. You really could get by with just a tent and sleeping bag, they had everything else. My family definitely wants to go back again!

It was great experience to have a camping here. Their store has delicious coffee and Lopez ice cream plus awesome draft BEER! The bathroom was clean and well maintained. Their description shows the shower room is operated by coin but I think they updated their shower so you don't need a coin. You will just need to push the button. The store also sells a firewood with reasonable price, so you can enjoy camp fire every night. There is also a small playground for kids and only 2-3 minutes walk for beach. It was great for weekend+holiday getaway.

I love when wonderful sites are found and unexpected! We hadn’t researched the place because we like the surprise - lovely property, clean and safe. Great jump off point for hiking and exploring the island. Wonderful staff and gorgeous views at sunset! We already want to go back and bring the family and kayaks too!

West Beach Resort was a perfect camping getaway... providing small luxuries (a hot tub), necessities (nicely stocked and reasonably priced store), a friendly greeting upon arrival, and glorious sunset water views at days end. We loved the nightly frog chorus and morning bird-song. Our stay was quiet and since it was the shoulder season, we had much of the camping area to ourselves. The other accommodations (canvas tent glamping and cottages) have caught our attention and we hope to return to West Beach someday! Cheers! Chris & Kim (from NM & WA)

Amazing camp ground. We stayed in one of the tent sites for one night. Every employee was helpful and kind, the facilities were well maintained, and the area was beautiful. Definitely coming back! Please stock more stickers and we'll buy some!

The people working there are extremely welcoming and helpful. The RV sites are well maintained and spaced out. We really loved it and will be back for sure !

RV - Resort View 30 Amp
It’s a lovely little resort, especially if you stay in one of the cabins. I was in an RV spot, which are pretty close together. There was hardly anyone there though, so the size of the sites wasn’t an issue. I was in a tiny teardrop and the advertised shower house was one of the reasons I picked this location. Unfortunately, it’s closed during the winter. That would have been good to know beforehand. I’d recommend either booking directly or messaging to make sure the description on Hipcamp matches the reality.

Site 9 - Campsite - walk-in, 2 mins to beach
I had an exceptional experience tent camping at the West End Beach resort. On top of the great amenities, super friendly customer service, and perfect location on the water and close to town, there were so many activities to do, such as a nightly bonfire, boats for rent, and a hot tub! I am hoping to get to stay here again, and would recommend it to anyone :-)

The camp site was family friendly and well maintained. We arrived in the dark and followed the map to our site. The map was unclear and the site was quite difficult to find in the dark so I would recommend showing up before dark. The sites are very close together so if you are looking for a private campsite, I would look elsewhere.

Site 3 - Camping - drive-in, 2 min to beach!
I thought this place was just on someone's private property and didn't realize it's a whole camping resort. It worked out just fine because as a single solo traveler, I felt incredibly safe. Loved the grounds. There are places to go enjoy the water, sunset, nature and just relax. Easy location and just minutes to all island activities. Next time I visit, I'll try one of the cabins directly on the water. But the tent sites on the grass were great and not on top of each other.

Great resort, bathrooms and showers were clean. The store was charming and the coffee stand was delicious. I see why people return year after year. The campsites are in an open field so not a ton of privacy, but the proximity to the water, and great atmosphere make it worth it!

Site 3 - Camping - drive-in, 2 min to beach!
This was a luxurious place to camp! We stayed here for a couple nights between camping in the Cascades and Olympics and it was the perfect reset. Bathrooms/showers are great and access to the hot tub/canteen/beach all felt like staying at a resort without paying too much money.
