Welcome to our little campground at the edge of Ashford, WA, near the base of Mt. Rainier and only 6 miles from the national park entrance!  This is a great basecamp from which to enjoy Mt. Rainier National Park, or just come and relax for a mountain getaway!

We have 5 lovely camping spots located in the pasture of our property, which we call the "Ashford Lodge", an old 1917 bed and breakfast that we're in the process of restoring (yes, we also have cabin-style rooms for rent!)

The campsites, located in our 1.5 acre pasture, all feature sturdy picnic tables and are surrounded by giant fir, cherry, and alder trees.  Site 2 is the shadiest (right under the cherry tree!), Sites 1 and 5 have partial shade, and Sites 3 and 4 have full sun for most of the day.  Please understand that HipCamp doesn't allow us to easily switch sites after you book, so please take a look at the photos w/ captions and property map before booking to decide which site is right for you! We're located right off the main road, so there will be some traffic noise, but it's still quite peaceful, especially in mornings and evenings. All sites have partial views of the hills across the valley, and there is a large grassy common area for playing with your dogs or kids.  There is also an outhouse on site.

Our location at the edge of town means you can easily walk to Ashford Grocery or your morning coffee at Rise and Grind or Whittaker Bunkhouse Cafe. It's also an easy walk to BaseCamp Grill, right next door, for burgers, pizza and beer! The entrance to our campground is a bit narrow, so we recommend keeping the total vehicle length to 30 ft.  Campers with trailers, especially, should use caution to avoid the ditch at the entrance (although we've had quite a few happy campers bring their trailers in without trouble!)We hope you enjoy your stay, and please let us know if you have any questions!

We were bike camping and and we arrived at twilight. Scott came out and introduced himself which I thought was great of the host to do. Also nicely located adjacent to the outdoor bar and grill. Would return anytime!

I couldn't get a campsite in Mount Rainier, so I booked this one. It's at a good location and not too bad for just camping out for one evening. There's a BaseCamp beer and grill within walking distance, so you could get some food and use more decent bathroom there. The campsite itself is clean.

The ground isn't flat, and it took me a few minutes to scout around my camp site to get an okay spot to set up the tent. The setup is very basic, so it's not for everyone.

I have mixed feeling about the site being right off the main road. I was tired enough to sleep through most of the night, but it's definitely not for light sleepers.

Great site, good separation from other sites and looks like they're installing pretty nice washrooms. Picnic tables at site were clean and fairly new. Cool that you can walk to town as well.

It is a standard campground type of feeling not something extremely special in any way but the location is good if you're looking to explore not rainier It has food nearby plenty of places for coffee the drive-thru coffee spot is very nice but there is also a sit-in cafe and food and walking distance so overall I would recommend I've heard from other people who visited not rainier that some locations are very middle of nowhere without many amenities nearby.
