Issues with wildlife are very rare; any concerns will immediately be handled by host.
Your Camp Host, Chef Üdø, is onsite most days and evenings, and has 30 years' experience in the catering and private chef biz, and as a camp host. He's happy to coordinate hot meals for you and your companions! No more need to go into town to get a pizza or some icky fast food! We will make you a homemade pizza, dry-aged steak, brined chicken, smoked Wagyu burger, or lasagna...all in-house. Vegan, vegetarian, kosher, low-sodium, and most other dietary restrictions are no problem! Our completely remodeled cabin is located in “Old Ruidoso”. It’s walking distance to Midtown and a short drive to Grindstone Lake, Ski Apache and Ruidoso Downs Race Track. We have a grill on our back deck with seating area and an hot tub in the back yard. Our front deck has a 2 person porch swing where you can enjoy a morning cup of coffee or an afternoon glass of wine. As frequent Airbnb guests we feel we have provided a great place for you to stay.

House:
We look forward to sharing our cabin, The Treehouse with you. We purchased and renovated this cabin as a full-time vacation rental and as a place for my husband and me to stay when we visit our daughter and her family. We have been coming to Ruidoso several times a year since they moved here. We love the beauty of the mountains and wildlife and look forward to sharing that with you.
Outside:
We have 2 seating areas outside, 1 on the front deck and another on the back deck in addition to a gas grill and a hot tub.
Parking:
There are 2 parking spots in the driveway.
Sleeping Areas:
The house sleeps up to 4 people, a queen bed in the bedroom and a sleeper couch in the living room. We also have a pack-and-play upon request. There is a small 4-drawer dresser and a closet with plenty of hangers to store your belongings. In addition to the mini-split heater in the living room there are 2 space heaters for the bedroom and the bathroom for the cooler months. For the warmer months the mini-split also has and air conditioner setting and there is a ceiling fan in the bedroom. We provide all pillows and bed linens.
Bathroom:
We have a full sized bathroom with a bathtub and shower. We provide towels, soap, lotion and toilet paper plus a blow dryer, iron, ironing board and luggage rack located in the closet which is also in the bathroom.
Living room:
Sink into our comfy couch or chair while watching tv or reading a book. We provide a phone charging station on the side table next to the couch. There are a variety of games which you can find on the side table by back door.
Kitchen:
The kitchen is fully equipped for you to cook

We have a nest camera installed in the front of the cabin that can not only see anything in the front, but can also pick up your conversation.

Our completely remodeled cabin is located in “Old Ruidoso”. It’s walking distance to Midtown and a short drive to Grindstone Lake, Ski Apache and Ruidoso Downs Race Track. We have a grill on our back deck with seating area and an hot tub in the back yard. Our front deck has a 2 person porch swing where you can enjoy a morning cup of coffee or an afternoon glass of wine. As frequent Airbnb guests we feel we have provided a great place for you to stay.
The space
House:
We look forward to sharing our cabin, The Treehouse with you. We purchased and renovated this cabin as a full-time vacation rental and as a place for my husband and me to stay when we visit our daughter and her family. We have been coming to Ruidoso several times a year since they moved here. We love the beauty of the mountains and wildlife and look forward to sharing that with you.
Outside:
We have 2 seating areas outside, 1 on the front deck and another on the back deck in addition to a gas grill and a hot tub.
Parking:
There are 2 parking spots in the driveway.
Sleeping Areas:
The house sleeps up to 4 people, a queen bed in the bedroom and a sleeper couch in the living room. We also have a pack-and-play upon request. There is a small 4-drawer dresser and a closet with plenty of hangers to store your belongings. In addition to the mini-split heater in the living room there are 2 space heaters for the bedroom and the bathroom for the cooler months. For the warmer months the mini-split also has and air conditioner setting and there is a ceiling fan in the bedroom. We provide all pillows and bed linens.
Bathroom:
We have a full sized bathroom with a bathtub and shower. We provide towels, soap, lotion and toilet paper plus a blow dryer, iron, ironing board and luggage rack located in the closet which is also in the bathroom.
Living room:
Sink into our comfy couch or chair while watching tv or reading a book. We provide a phone charging station on the side table next to the couch. There are a variety of games which you can find on the side table by back door.
Kitchen:
The kitchen is fully equipped for you to cook
Camera:
We have a nest camera installed in the front of the cabin that can not only see anything in the front, but can also pick up your conversation.

4 nights at Midtown Mountain Campground and RV
Spent 4 nights here. Great for one minimilast. Or two very close minimalists. Very well insulated. Cool during day, warm most of night in late march. Almost light proof for sleeping in. Good heater if needed.
Seemed like the most private site at the RV park with well placed privacy walls. Away from the road. However the trucks driving up the street here are definitely loud at times, including late.
The campground is fantastic. Small and somewhat tight, great location. Strict quiet hours and rules about barking dogs help create a respectful and mostly quiet campground.

Chef Udo was very communicative from the very beginning and one of the most hospitable Hipcamp I’ve ever had. I would definitely recommend anyone who’s looking for a cozy stay with an incredible view. Also, he’s an amazing chef and worth every penny as we rolled into camp after sunset and had a meal brought to us with happy tummies and a restful evening in a nice size tent for my family. Thank you Chef!

2 nights at El Campo Glamping LLC
We had a great stay at El Campo Glamping. The yurt is huge and very cozy with a heater, table and chairs, coffee, games, and lots of extra blankets. There’s also a BBQ, cooler, and three really nice outdoor seating areas to enjoy the space. The bathroom next door has a toilet, shower, and running water which made the stay very comfortable. The hosts were quick to respond and helpful.
Tip: I wouldn’t recommend arriving after dark — it’s much easier to find and settle in during daylight.

Fabulous. Super cozy, has everything you need. Neighbors totally get the chill vibe — no noise, no drama. Really private, clean, well-equipped, and just 20 minutes out on a smooth road to the nearest town. Views are insane. 10/10 would stay again.

Weekend Trip to Southern Rockies Camp & Cabins
We had a lovely stay on the property! The owners were amazing and waited up for us. We did get lost. GPS took us on a different route so whatever you do… follow the directions the host sends you and type the address directly into the gps. And we are pretty experienced off roaders and adventurers so we thought eeeeeeeh we will be fine after dark. We got there but if you can get there before dark I highly recommend it! We can’t wait to go back and spend more time on the property! Thank you!!!

1 night at White Sands Smokehouse
Chef Üdø’s site was a perfect spot for us as we stopped near White Sands NP during a longer camping roadtrip throughout the Southwest! The bell tent was super clean and fresh on a raised platform to keep away the mud and bugs. We enjoyed beautiful views of the Sandia Mountains / Dog Canyon while we ate a most scrumptious meal and woke up to a vibrant sunrise. I highly recommend Chef Udo’s food!! We had the world famous brined chicken, which came with a sweet potato mash and roasted asparagus - expertly seasoned and truly delicious. Udo was super communicative and helpful, reaching out well in advance to coordinate and he provided really useful tips about the area. Don’t skip the cookies! 🍪😋

A great stay at this little cabin. Our third time staying at Karen's place. Her communication is excellent and the cabin has all the little amenities needed. We love having the fenced in backyard for our 2 small dogs. Location is also great being walkable to shops and restaurants. Saw lots of elk this visit meandering through the neighborhood. Great place.

Oliver Lee Memorial State Park Campground
The camp sites were super nice, but the facilities were underwhelming. The showers in the women’s room were awful, one didn’t work at all and the other was almost rusted shut and just barely trickled. Then for the men’s room there was no soap, let alone a soap dispenser, you could tell where it once was but it needs to be replaced. Overall nice sites but the facilities were very underwhelming.

Stayed at Oliver Lee on a photo scouting mission in February this year, and we loved staying here! The sun shelters at most tent sites were super helpful against the windy nights, and the facilities were kept clean and quite. Highly recommend. And we'll be back.

The best place to hang out and explore the Tularosa Basin! 44 campsites include 7 that are reservable. 18 sites have water and electric hook ups, the rest are dry sites. The campground has showers in the middle easy to get to from all sites. Some sites have shelters. The visitor center has a nice small museum with info about the area. The park has a nice nature trail and access to the Dog Canyon Trail which rises up 3,100 feet in 5.5 miles. Supplies are available in Alamogordo 12 miles away.
