Discover the most magical spots to pitch your tent or park your rig on your next Harrison's Rocks adventure.
Amid the patchwork farmlands and leafy valleys of the High Weald AONB, the sandstone crags of Harrison's Rocks are one of the region's most notable natural landmarks. Managed by the British Mountaineering Council (BMC), it's a popular destination for rock climbing, and there are options for all levels, from first-time climbers to experienced mountaineers. Choose from a variety of top-roped climbing routes, and admire spectacular views from the clifftops. If you don't fancy climbing, there's a scenic circular walk from Broadwater Warren that provides views of the rocks, and campers can also pitch their tent on-site.
The main climbing season at Harrison's Rocks is from April through October, when weather conditions are most favourable. Out-of-season climbing is still possible, but you'll be at the mercy of the weather—wet weather or frost means you'll need to postpone. The camping area is well-shaded during summer, but it can get cold at night in spring and autumn, so come prepared.
