Our land is about 5 minutes from Batchawana Bay Provincial Park. This sandy beach park is located on Lake Superior and is perfect for families as the waters are warm and shallow. While in the area you can also try fishing and canoeing in the nearby river. Be sure to also check out
Chippewa Falls and the Edmund Fitzgerald lookout.

Just across the property, you will find
Lake Superior with the best beach around. Please note that quiet time is from 11 pm to 8 am. Please no loud music or generators, no cutting down trees or bush.

Whether you are looking for a night, weekend or weekly rental we have, the off grid piece of paradise waiting for you. Conviently located right off Hwy 17 North between Goulais Bay and Batchewana bay. Although we are not located on the water we are steps from Chippewa falls, minutes to Harmony beach, Batchewana bay. Do you like to fish? A quick ride up the road mile 38 has some of the best fishing around. Travelling with a boat/kayak paddle board, ATV, cycles etc…. We have secure sea can storage for you to utilize when not on site. If hiking is your thing lots of trails nearby. Trailer has fridge, microwave, fire pit with grate for cooking if desired, no bathroom usage but outhouse on-site. Solar panels are hooked up but generator can also be provided if you choose. Fire pit and wood on site. If you love to have all of this plus total privacy as you have no neighbours on this 3 acre parcel. Lots of room for volleyball, cornhole, adventure hiking. Glamping experience on Highway 17! Minutes away from beautiful beaches! Tiny Cabin with limited power provided by a Bluetti power box. Stocked kitchenette, but bring a stove or cook over the campfire on a tripod grill. Will provide a jug of water for dishes and cooking but its from our well so please bring your own drinking water. A comfortable double bed and a screened in porch. There is an outhouse but no shower. Showers can be found close by at travel gas stations or parks.

This place is amazing! The two tents are spacious, beautifully set up, and incredibly well-equipped. Directions were clear, parking was easy, and the host was super helpful throughout.
The sleeping tent had a gorgeous bed with clean, comfy sheets, and the second tent had everything I needed — a kettle, cooktop, dining table, clean water, and more. I spent the day at a nearby beach and then relaxed by the firepit in the evening, surrounded by stunning birch trees.
I can’t recommend this place enough — a perfect mix of comfort and nature!

Ben’s lot offers the privacy of a woodland setting and is a very short walk to an amazing sandy beach with clear blue waters.
Ben offered us an extra night at no charge and we’re glad we took him up on his kind offer as we saw the most colourful sunset of the trip on our last night! We’ll definitely come back.

Easy back into site that is level.
Very little traffic and if you want an easy meal the Voyageur camp ground.

Nice campsites. Several campsites in treed areas with picnic table and campfire pit, and some cottages (did not check those out) if you want more shelter. Complete with sink for dishwashing and bathroom (shower and sink) facility with enough private stalls for all campers. Ample outhouses near your campsite and shower/dish washing station. Enjoyed my quiet stay at the place.

Overview
About
Camp along a sheltered bay where Voyageur paddlers traversed centuries ago. With 476 campsites and five yurts stretched along a three-kilometre, white-sand beach, Pancake Bay Provincial Park is a prime summertime spot with hiking loops and a plethora of wildlife. On the 3.5-kilometre Nature Trail, a boardwalk straddles a vast marshland home to bald eagles, loons, and sandhill cranes. The bike-friendly Lookout Trail (14 kilometres) features lush sugar maples and a panoramic lake view where the legendary SS Edmund Fitzgerald sank in 1975—don’t miss the sunset from Edmund Fitzgerald Lookout.
Notable campgrounds
- Best for group camping: On the west end of the campground, five beachside group sites host up to 40 people each. Water taps, vault toilets, and a comfort station are within walking distance.
- Best for panoramic lake views: Hilltop Campground is perched on a little hill above the campground and is also more private than the other campgrounds.
- Best for hiking access: Sites numbered in the 400s, on the farthest east side of the park, are near the area’s two hiking trails.
Tips for snagging a campsite
- Grab a lakefront site if they’re available—the roadside sites near Highway 17 can get noisier.
- Reservations open via Ontario Parks five months in advance of arrival. Holiday weekends fill up fast with nearby Sault Ste. Marie residents.
- Opt for a non-electrical site to improve your chances of getting a site.
When to go
This park is only open between May 7 and October 12. Spring and fall offer the best chance at fishing—it isn’t uncommon to see people casting their lines in hip-height gators. By mid-September, the sugar maples, red oak, and yellow birch are changing into a fiery tapestry, making for awesome hiking.
Know before you go
- Canoeing in the sheltered Batchawana Bay is easygoing but can become windy and unpredictable north of the bay as one paddles into Lake Superior.
- Dumping and water stations are a bit far from campsites. Be sure to pick up water on the way into the park.
- The beach has a dog area and is less crowded than most park beaches.
