Zig Zag Farms is such a beautiful and peaceful place. The property is full of natural beauty, with lovely gardens, a small creek, and a trail that loops around the grounds. The trail is an easy, relaxing walk that people of all ages can enjoy. The playground is awesome and was a big hit with the kids. Our yurt was clean, comfortable, and had power. The staff were genuinely friendly, kind, and welcoming. It is a wonderful place to slow down, spend time together, and enjoy being outdoors. One helpful tip: bring plenty of bug spray!

The property itself carries a beautiful, peaceful vibe, but the host’s complete lack of communication turned what should have been a great trip into a safety hazard.
We used Instant Book for a party of four (with kids). Afterward, I made multiple attempts to contact the host via both Hipcamp messages and phone calls to confirm the details. Zero response.
When we arrived, we discovered the yurts require a door code to enter, a code that was never included in the post-booking instructions. To make matters worse, the check-in policy states that if you arrive after 10:00 PM, you are completely on your own. Because the host went radio silent and locked us out without the code, we were left entirely stranded in the middle of the night with young children.
Fortunately, a motel just a few minutes away had a last-minute opening and saved our night. Despite leaving us with nowhere to sleep, the host flat-out refuses to issue a refund or even to communicate or check on us next morning. That is why I am leaving this review.
It’s a shame because the location has so much potential, but a host this unresponsive and unforgiving is a massive liability. Save yourself the stress and the money, look elsewhere for a host who actually answers their phone and cares about their guests' safety.

Cute little area, nice set up. Tent sites are more like walkin but they do have wagons to cart your items to your site. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Very lovely property with welcoming staff. Excellent signage throughout to help you navigate the area. We loved the mix of yurt and tent sites. The city bus converted into a communal kitchen was well-equipped! There are a ton of hiking trails that easily accessible and for a variety of skill-level. The playground equipment, firepit, and tree swing were great for our toddler to enjoy. We will definitely be coming back here again in the future.

We really enjoyed our stay at Zigzag Meadow Farm. We have a 6 year old and a toddler, as well as a dog terrified of fireworks (it was July 4th weekend). The staff was welcoming and helpful, and there are a lot of fun amenities (play structure, dining bus, real toilets, guides for nearby hikes, property cats that want to say hi, a bunny to feed dandelion leaves to). We could still hear some big booms, but nothing too terrible. The kids had an incredible time and our oldest felt confident navigating the camp by himself, and was sad to leave. Definitely a lot of kids and dogs, so maybe avoid if that's not your scene. Really beautiful, easy and fun.

Amazing place to stay. We loved the Yurt a lot but what stood out about this place was the community. We wish we had more days here to chat w neighbors around the campfire. The community kitchen bus is an amazing way to meet people. We had so much fun exploring he grounds, especially the garden area. We will be back!

The area is just so chill and peaceful. The land itself is beautiful and private if you’d like it to be but communal if you’re in search for a combine good time. The workers are so friendly, and made everything work so smoothly. I would rec this place to literally anyone. It’s got all the perks of camping but also a main house if you’d could need anything. We are most definitely coming back and staying longer than one night!!!

This was an awesome place!
It is dispersed camp sites, so it’s not guaranteed how close or far you’ll be to others until the end of the night. We found a great spot in the forest and had a great experience, it did look crowded on the other side though.
Clean bathrooms and the cooking bus was super cool.
The fire pit was a highlight for us because we got to chat with some new friends, but if privacy and quiet is what you’re after this may not be the spot for you.

We loved Zigzag! We ended up extending our stay for 7 nts in our tent. So pretty & the campers' kitchen in a converted city bus was the cherry on top along with the nice bath/shower house. Short drive to Mount Hood. Thank you ZigZag staff for being the best hosts. We will def be back & will hopefully see Harold again.😉

We really enjoyed staying here! They took such good care of us and made us feel welcome. The place has all of the facilities and amenities that you would need. We were far enough away from other campers that it felt private. It was so clutch that they had a stocked kitchen! That saved us a few times when we realized we forgot something we needed at home, and when we needed to wash our dishes. The communal firepit was nice, we met some other campers and enjoyed their company and the ambiance. And you could see the stars so clearly from our campsite! There are trails in the forests all around the campsite to explore, and so many beautiful hiking spots in the area. We would absolutely stay here again.

This place was not for us. Great for families but it had no privacy and you couldnt camp anywhere near your car. We didnt end up staying. Do not recommend for anyone who isnt traveling with kids.

We loved staying in the yurt at Zigzag farm! It was sooo cozy on a rainy night and the propane heater was powerful! Tobias was so friendly and helpful with giving us directions and even directing us to the nearby farmers market that was happening the next day. We loved cooking in the bus-kitchen! Also recommend you bring your own dishes, utensils, and supplies, such as cooking oil and spices, just as you would to a campsite. The mile loop trail in the mossy forest was a perfect morning walk. So peaceful. We will definitely camp here again!

What an absolutely fabulous find. We were greeted by the host, Tobias, and shown around the property where we were able to choose between many forested and meadow camping spots. There were several bathrooms and showers, all with hot water and very clean. There were several places to lounge or interact with other guests if you choose, including a two patios, the bus converted into a camp kitchen, and fire pit. Otherwise, the camp sites are spaced far enough away from one another to have plenty of privacy. There is dedicated parking spots that are not necessarily right next to your camping spot depending on which spot you choose, however it’s not more than a 2-3 minute walk. I would absolutely stay here again next time I am visiting.

Absolutely amazing. Everything here is tended with such care and mindfulness, my kids are already asking when we can go back to the bus in the woods! The walking trails are perfection too, enough challenge that the kids paid close attention to everything around them, but with ample wide areas that they could run and scream, too. Peaceful, beautiful, open and secluded. We feel so honored to have shared space in such a sanctuary. And the moon and stars here were to die for! I will be telling everyone I know and bringing my little goblins back for forest romps in the future. Thank you so much, Zigzag Mountain Farm! ❤️

Yurt was very cozy for a winter trip. Convenient location for Mt Hood ski access. The campground is charming - we enjoyed using the converted bus kitchen. This was our second stay, and we would book again.

There was plenty of space to pitch a tent and park. The price was affordable for what was available. By no means did we expect a private campsite, but the other campers or residents of the farm were unreasonably loud the first night of our stay and that kept us up past 1:30am and our sleep suffered. Also, we chose not to use certain amenities that attracted us to this listing, such as the shower or the sink, as there was information posted that the water source was contaminated with trace amounts of e. coli, which can make you sick if it gets in your mouth, eyes, or open wounds.

The property is really nice and had many thoughtful touches. We loved sitting on the deck and being able to camp all by ourselves in the north forest but still have easy access to real bathrooms! We didn't make use of the kitchen bus but it was very cool to see. I appreciated the thorough tour from staff and lists of local restaurants and trails. The sweet pet rabbits were the perfect finishing touch!

We were in Forest Camp--a big, quiet site. We wheelbarrowed everything into camp the first night as instructed, only to find out, on our last day, that we could have parked the car 15 paces from camp -(which worked out well as serious rain showers hit, lol.) Staff very helpful and fun. Shout out to Danny! Enjoyed hikes around area. Beautiful setting. Will definitely return!

I had a wonderful experience in the North Forest area doing tent camping. I happened to be the only one in this area for the duration of my stay and had a truly peaceful and cozy stay. I was thrilled to have almost too many spots to set up a hammock and the 1 mile loop trail was fun and pretty! Wonderful staff and well maintained overall; North Forest area had clear trails that even a rolling cooler could get through and lots of cleared spots that allow for cool tent setup options. I would definitely come again!
