Riversdale homestead is a unique farmstay experience located centrally in the beautiful, picturesque Mitta Valley, Victoria, where you can camp right on the bank of the Mitta River! Some of the activities available include fishing, swimming, bush walking, hunting and bike riding. Within the 400 acre property, you will find it home to many wild animals, including kangaroos, wombats, platypus, possums and a range of birds. The main fish in the river are trout and cod, so if you’re a keen fishermen, this is the place for you! The beautiful town of Mitta Mitta is only a five minute drive, offering the renowned Mitta Pub, Paddy’s Reserve swimming hole and playground, and an abundance of walking trails. The Mitta Brewery is only a three minute drive, offering beautiful views of Mount Bogong from their premises. Dartmouth and the largest man-made dam in the southern hemisphere, Dartmouth Dam, are only a 15 minute drive. The town of Eskdale is also only a 10 minute drive. We offer six sites on the property. Site 1 is our most popular, as it offers a touch of glamping, as it is our only site to offer a permanent caravan for your use. The caravan is unpowered, but includes a double bed, kettle, gas cooker, water source availability and battery powered lights. Surrounding the caravan is a very large area for additional caravans, vehicles and tents, so it can be still be used as a self-sufficient site. The other five sites are all open spaces on the river front with ample space for multiple vehicles, caravans, tents and camping equipment. There are dedicated campfire areas for use along the river, and fire wood will be supplied for your convenience. We welcome your pets as your guests and encourage them to explore the beautiful nature of the Mitta Valley. We look forward to greeting you upon your arrival and welcoming you to our beautiful farm.

Site 1 - Riverside Caravan

Riversdale homestead is a unique farmstay experience located centrally in the beautiful Mitta valley, Victoria, where you can camp right on the bank of the Mitta River! Site 1 offers a touch of glamping, as it is our only site to offer a permanent caravan available for your use. The caravan is unpowered, but includes a double sized bed, kettle, gas cooker, water source available and battery powered lights. It is beautifully situated directly on the bank of the Mitta River. Surrounding the caravan is a very large space for camping. The campsite extends for roughly 50 metres of riverfront and extends roughly 50 metres deep, so can cater for up to 10 vehicles or caravans and up to 50 additional campers around the caravan.. It is large enough to accommodate you and your vehicles and still maintain your own privacy. This site includes an established firepit which is available for your use, and we will provide the firewood for your convenience. There are no other amenities available (toilets, showers, kitchen), at the campsite, however, a porter loo may be available upon your request. We look forward to greeting you upon your arrival!

Site 2 - Riverside Camping

Site 2 is beautifully situated on the corner of the Mitta River. The campsite extends for roughly 50 metres of riverfront and extends roughly 50 metres deep. It is large enough to accommodate you and your vehicles and still maintain your own privacy. This site includes an established firepit which is available for your use, and we will provide the firewood for your convenience. There are no amenities available (toilets, showers, kitchen), at the campsite, however, a porterloo may be available upon your request. We look forward to greeting you upon your arrival!

Site 3 - Riverside Camping

Site 3 is beautifully situated in the centre of a paddock directly on the Mitta River. The campsite extends for roughly 100 metres of riverfront and extends roughly 50-100 metres deep. It is large enough to accommodate you and your vehicles and still maintain your own private area. This site includes an established firepit which is available for your use, and we will provide the firewood for your convenience. There are no amenities available (toilets, showers, kitchen), at the campsite, however, a porterloo may be available upon your request. We look forward to greeting you upon your arrival!

This site includes ample space to create a fire pit, and we will provide the firewood for your convenience. There are no amenities available (toilets, showers, kitchen), at the campsite, however, a porterloo may be available upon your request. We look forward to greeting you upon your arrival!

This site includes ample space to create a fire pit, and we will provide the firewood for your convenience. Site 6 is beautifully situated in a secluded area of the property, as the bank slightly dips down to offer privacy. The campsite extends for roughly 25 metres of riverfront and extends roughly 30 metres deep. It is large enough to accommodate you and your vehicles and still maintain your own privacy. This site includes ample space to create a fire pit, and we will provide the firewood for your convenience. There are no amenities available (toilets, showers, kitchen), at the campsite, however, a porterloo may be available upon your request. We look forward to greeting you upon your arrival!
