South Abutment Recreation Area and Campground

Hit the trail or set sail at South Abutment! This charming campground abuts the south shore of Lake Arkabutla (hence its name!). Tent-dwellers and RV-residents can camp amongst the forested rolling hills. There’s several hiking and interpretive nature trails that wind around the lake, providing both exercise and education! And for you boating buffs, there’s some of the best sailing east of the Mississippi on Coldwater River.
