What a great experience. The location was perfect and the campground was private and well maintained. Jamie was nice enough to set up a disc golf basket for our group and we really enjoyed creating some skill shots on the land. We couldn't have asked for more, and would stay here again in a heartbeat

What a great experience. The location was perfect and the campground was private and well maintained. Jamie was nice enough to set up a disc golf basket for our group and we really enjoyed creating some skill shots on the land. We couldn't have asked for more, and would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Enjoyed our stay at The Dark Forest. Excellent information from Jamie, making it easy to know where we were going and feel comfortable. We enjoyed the privacy, listening to the birds, and having a fire. Slept comfortably amongst the trees, despite the heavy overnight rain. Thanks for the stay!

We had a great experience! The location and camp site were easy to find. Jamie had everything waiting for us and was super welcoming. The environment was peaceful and quiet. We also liked that we were able to pop back into town within 10 minutes.

The trails were nice, host does a nice job helping campers with the toilet paper and water and wood ($5 bundle). Beautiful land great idea with the wild berries and exploring the land. I love the fact my dog could be off leash and we enjoyed our time very much.

This was a beautiful camp site! There was a picnic table, two fire pits, and a toilet. The location felt very safe, but still private from the main house on the property. We got to listen to owls and birds in the evening. Great place to stay! The host, Jamie, was also accommodating and a great communicator.

Beautiful campsite and Jamie is an awesome host. Everything was ready for me when I got there. Jamie would text to see if I needed anything but otherwise was not noticed.

Jamie has an excellent setup for tent camping, and the trails are really enjoyable to walk! Very secluded and private from the house. I will definitely be back at some point!

This was a lovely campsite to stay at! We stayed at the hippie campground which was very spacious and had benches, a picnic table, and a fire pit. The host, Jamie, was super kind and provided our group with water and toilet paper. Wish we could’ve stayed longer!

I throughly enjoy my forest retreat. Most memorable was 2 squirrel playing tag that came right into the site. Makes you appreciate the wonders of nature. Will definitely be back,

Very private site! We were two young women traveling who sometimes get nervous about hipcamping, but this was a very nice, secluded site, totally hidden from the house. Plus, Jamie was very nice and made us feel very comfortable. Provided firewood and clean water, and offered to get us more firewood after the first morning (we only stayed two days). Nice trails on the property, and Jamie was very passionate about explaining the features of the land to us. Great experience!

We loved staying on Jamie’s land! It was a beautiful place to unwind. We enjoyed walking the various trails, and indulging in the berries, apples, and plums along the way.

My partner and I usually disperse camp in National Forests when we travel throughout the US, so Hipcamp was a new experience for us. It was difficult to find reasonable camping driving through central Wisconsin.
Jamie's campsite was simply wonderful to stay at. A gorgeously cut spot, deeper into the woods, made for a relaxing and quiet sleep in our tent. We certainly would equate the experience to the dispersed camping seclusion we enjoy. Plenty of area to explore on foot too - not to mention the abundance of botanical life!
Jamie had excellent communication for our arrival and was keen to reply to messages. We couldn't have asked for a better host; a fantastic person to happen upon for our single night stay.
I recommend staying here for any camper who enjoys peaceful days, or nights, in the forest. My partner couldn't have had a better first experience using Hipcamp. We wish Jamie all the success in the world - he absolutely desrves it!

Hippie Campground was a fantastic place to stay! Incredibly private and had a magical feel with the great pine forest, butterfly farm, and the clearing in the woods where our fire roared. My family and I stayed last-minute and slept under the great sky of stars! The outhouse was clean and cute, too! Our host was communicative and friendly via the Hipcamp app, and left us to ourselves throughout the visit. We plan to book again next summer! Next time we plan to try the Jamestown listing.

We stayed at the Hippie camp overnight while on a road trip! It was a really pretty grass lot a little ways down the road from the main house where we parked. There was a picnic table, fire ring and Jamie brought a large jug of water down for us.
We arrived pretty late and got back on the road pretty early so we missed out on exploring some of the trails around the property, but the stars and fireflies were fantastic.
My dog liked running around the secluded meadow and because it was just us I was not worried about her joining other campsites in search of treats.

Thanks so much had an excellent stay! Jamie the host was very kind and courteous. Two sites to camp at each with its own vibe. I loved exploring the meandering trails. The wind chime in the dark forest was a nice surprise. Sumac ridge was in full bloom very impressive. Highly recommend good place to see moonrise/ sunrise. The whole place was good vibes and nice variety of scenery.

Jamie is genuinely eager to share his peaceful land with others. In this hectic world, he offers a place to experience peace, relaxation and beauty. I felt very very comfortable (myself, 2 kiddos & 2 dogs) on his land and was able to completely relax amongst the trees. There are groomed trails amongst the trees on his land and you are welcomed to taste any berries growing (in season).

The host is super friendly and they do a great job of making the area comfortable. It is a mini hike from the car, down the hill, and around the bend to the picnic table, about 350 ft. They provided jugs of water, saw dust, AND a big 5 gallon jug of water. It was really nice I did not have to lug any water down to the camping. THANK YOU.
The spot is private and away from the house. Additionally, there are great trails through the pines and around the property. The sun rise over the hills was absolutely stunning. The sounds of nature and wild life are abundant. I heard many coyotes in the distance. My only issue is the area to camp was on hill and it was lumpy. If you are sleeping on a pad this may be uncomfortable. I had a cot in my car and did not notice it.

We appreciated that experience so much. It felt like a great recharge being away from everyone. And we finally got to feel a level of seclusion that we have never had at a campground, and the peace that comes with it. The property was so beautiful and there was some amazing views of the hilly corn fields along the trails. The campsite is in this big open circular area on a hill enclosed by trees. I loved hearing the cows in the distance. Beautiful. Owner is really good vibes too.
