It is very much a party campground, but it has some nice secluded sites that I would love to use again. The staff inside the bar were super friendly and it was very easy to get checked in. Highly recommend!!

Great but flooding, noise possible
Booking was easy with great communication and flexibility. It's across the parking lot from a local/popular Reggae marina bar/restaurant so a very short drive, bike ride, or decent walk to downtown Red Wing. Very nice staff and shower behind the bar/up some stairs in back was nice. Can also fill up water in laundry tub.
As other reviewers noted there aren't really designated sites. There were 4-5 longer-term trailer/RVs away from the water so there was really just one viable spot though it had a beautiful view right on the water. The shoreline was 10 ft more inland due to heavy rains. Not the site/owner's fault - just check ahead. There are more potential spots further in but you could get blocked in. Fine if you have two groups.
The noise at night can be quite loud as they love their music - it's not obnoxious but bring plugs just in case. The train also goes right past the other side of the river and BLASTS the horn multiple times - felt like hourly through the night.
If you want a spot next to a cool bar/restaurant and don't mind a little noise, it's a great deal. If you are dreaming of a more serene camping site, it may not be for you.

I got to hear a great blues band the evening I camped here, sound really carries on the river. A nice spot on the river to relax and watch the boats go by!

Campsites were not defined, a dried mudpit took up most of the general designated area, or you had to be right next to the bar’s parking lot. Multiple times people from the bar or different sites wandered into our campsite at night as the bar closed (even though we chose a location as out of the way as we could) one even trying to flirt with the women at our site which was very uncomfortable for them. Nearby houseboats played music and were loud until midnight. Because the sites were not dedicated, no campfire pits easily available (we found one in the morning that a different tent had claimed). Overall uncomfortable and unexpectedly unenjoyable.

Great location on the Mississippi River with a large bar and grill next store. Many places to pitch a tent in the shade. The only drawback is the train across the river. It comes many times, day and night, and blows a loud horn.

Campsites are not maintained well. States bathrooms and showers are available but had to ask several people for the location.
Noisy at night with fireworks and music.
Ad states the tent space is set with wood chips. They are not. Most are on dry cracked mud.
Ad states there are six tent sites. There are no labels.
I was in a schedule pinch to take my grandson camping.

The campground itself was very nice but it was very loud. Very very loud. Also the sinks in the bathroom were broken! Perhaps better instructions on how to get to the actual campsite would be beneficial too.

Did not have a good experience and ended up leaving and not even staying. Was thankful that I got refunded. Not ideal for tents. Very wet & uneven land that didn’t have room to park your vehicle near your tent. The bathrooms were disgusting. The tables and chairs were also disgusting. Would not recommend especially for $40 for two people. I wish I could attach photos to my review.

Good setting, and good options for setting up a tent. Felt like there was privacy. Also nearby lots of good spots during the day. Like others mentioned, there is a train. Also, there were mosquitos, but with some bug spray and earplugs (if needed) it’s a great spot

OK spot on the river for a cheap night. If you are looking for solitude this is not your place. No assigned spots. No tables. No meet and greet. Never saw the host. Friendly bar and good bar food. Camping area is best for tents. If you have a van you will sleep in the marina parking lot. As others have said it’s noisy here with bar and marina guests but it didn’t matter to me. Bring ear plugs or stay up late and party.

The property was really nice and I was excited to explore it, but I did find that the specific site I booked wasn't available, and that no one on site was really able to help me get settled. A bartender just waved me in a general direction and said "Anywhere over there is fine." I'm still not entirely sure if I setup my tent in the right place, and I never found out where the bathrooms were, if there were showers, or if I was supposed to be able to connect to the wifi. But the bar was hosting a reggae fest with food trucks so I can't fault them too much for being busy. I enjoyed the free outdoor concert on the water!
There were also trains going by throughout the night with horns, I'm a heavy sleeper so I didn't mind but others might.

Enjoyable camping experience. The camping was fun the views are beautiful. The train is right by the sites but really wasn’t too bad. We had fun fishing and having dirty bananas. The reggae fest could be so fun if they had better bands and set the mood a little more like decorate the stage a bit maybe. I think reaching out to some younger people in the music scene and getting suggestions for bands and vibes could make this event very successful. This spot is great and the festivals have so much potential to evolve. Also more food trucks for the event might be a good idea. We were hungry and the chicken was always out when we tried to get some.

The river has a great view and this was really nice. My campsite was shaded with the trees and could even put my hammock up. Unfortunately there aren’t designated spots and I ended up with a group of party campers around midnight behind my space. I ended up leaving in the middle of the night to find a quiet side street in town to catch some sleep and returned in the morning to pack up and hit the road. For the future I’ll review camper policies to see if there are designated quiet hours and ensure there are spaces assigned to avoid this in the future. I was able to contact the host and he worked with me to resolve the situation.

If you can claim it first, this has a beautiful, pull-in by car spot at the edge of the river, wonderful harbor bar with food drinks and toilets and showers you may need. It is near a well serviced railroad so keep that in mind when booking, but the beaver near my site and the hospitality is the best there is! Loved learning the immense history of this place too!! Enjoy!

Great spot in a beautiful area. If noise bothers you, look elsewhere: there are frequent trains and truck traffic from the grain elevator across the river. Also, weekends brought bikers in for outdoor music, as well as some loud parties spilling from the bar onto a few of the houseboats moored in the marina.
For me, it was completely perfect. Picturesque Red Wing right across the river, epic views all around, and a good-sized and well-shaded site for my tent.
I had a burger at the Harbor Bar, and it was fantastic. The fries were particularly good, and came with a delicious honey mayo dip.

Was a good location for the price. Had to drive around a bit to find a private camp area away from people. Bar was nice and had good outdoor seating by the dock. Would not consider it family friendly, look up nearby events if you don’t want to get stuck at a motorcycle rally for Trump.
