The site was as expected, near city with traffic noise but good location to downtown Milwaukee. the fire wood was green and not split so i had no luck with campfire

After the rain I was impossible to drive to camp site with out getting stuck.it was very difficult to even walk around the slippery mess.

We drove past this place the first time because you are lead to an address with a house overflowing with junk. There is no sign by the road indicating there are campsites available. We finally followed the directions of pulling into the driveway and driving past the junk to locate our site in the woods with their junk. Didn’t feel safe.
Upon arrival we located our site. There was a shirtless guy with no shoes onthat came up a trail and told us we could take a bigger site and had given us firewood. He was friendly, but said he was not the owner. It was nice to get more space, but the firewood we purchased from here was wet and would not burn. It was also large logs and not slices of wood so burning it was very challenging. We messaged and asked about water and bathroom locations and did not get a response. We did locate a toilet but it was full of poop. We had to go buy water from a gas station and go to McDonald’s to use the restroom. There were trails throughout the property, but toilet paper and other random items were randomly found in the woods since no toilet. Glass bottles at our site, and empty cigarette containers at our site. Would have appreciated communication from our host. Disappointed in this experience. It was our first time using Hipcamp and probably our last.

About a hour away from downtown/lakefront area via bike. Decently size spots for a tent, car, etc. Decent price for what u get. They have a outdoor outhouse type bathroom & a microwave u can use. No showers. No electric hook-up except for one site. But, I heard the owners want to change that. Overall if u don't mind no shower or about a hour bike ride to the downtown/lakefront area (faster via car of course) it's a nice place.

The host was so great! He was friendly, accommodating, and helpful. The land was so awesome. His sweet little girl even took us on a tour of the paths and and all the cool things to see on the property. Would definitely recommend!

Overall it was an okay experience. We didn’t have much privacy as the campsites were much closer together than I expected and the bathroom situation felt uncomfortable as two young traveling women; our neighboring campsite told us they felt it was a bit sketchy as well as you had to go inside the house through the back door. There is a lot of junk around the property as well that made it feel less like a legitimate campsite and more like a strewn together situation. I would not suggest going here as a solo female traveler as we were just so close to each other and had no privacy. It is also not easily marked as it is in a residential community in a wooded backyard. Overall we got what we paid for but I would not stay there again.

There is no signage indicating where the camp is located that was the first issue. The grounds weren't the neatest but understandable as a family is living there, no one really spoke to us about the bathroom situation if we were on the correct site anything. The bathroom is located inside their home, and it's very awkward to just walk in to use them. There was some sort of argument fight or something coming from the house after midnight resulting in an ambulance with its lights flashing for quite sometime after 2am keeping my son and I awake. The idea and potential for this property is awesome and has great potential but I don't feel they are ready to host and upkeep for the public the way they should. We were informed the son recently took over- withing a few years give or take? The sites were nice- overall just didnt get a good vibe here, not sure I would return. The benefit was cheaper than a hotel while we traveled for our sons baseball tournament and being able to be outdoors camping as we like to do in the summertime. I feel some changes could make this place more enjoyable.. as well as better advertisement about use of the facilities... and sinage for travelers to k ow the proper location. More communication from the host would be nice as well.

Pretty trees, off roadway, but near highway, and toilet and shower are not outside but in a house that is occupied and the facilities are used by residents.

Great time. Chris had friends there looking after the places and they were awesome. Really helpful and welcoming. My kids loved the zip line. It’s definitely a unique camping experience within the city limits. Could use a few upgrades but otherwise an enjoyable time.

This site became a haven in a winter storm, here in the midst of a Wisconsin winter. I was able to light a significant fire, with the help of Alex who I believe is going to become the property manager at some point. Chris as always was sincerely magnanimous, and giving. I always enjoy camping at his property. I plan on returning after the first day of spring this year. Chris's daughter is growing up so fast. And she and I had a late night discussion about what successful camping looks like.

Green Site
The green site is one of my favorite sites out by Chris. I actually ended up transferring to the purple site, which is a little bit more secluded. I always love camping out by Chris.
I may be going out there again in about 10 days. I need to try out a new tent that I have. And Chris's property is the perfect, Serene, quiet space in the woods just on the outskirts of the city.

The site wasn’t marked “blue” that I could see. But I appreciated the tarp being down for my tent. Maybe that’s what made it blue site? Lots of bugs but was adequate for the few hours I was there.

The mosquitos were awful and the site is not far from a few highways, so fairly loud with traffic. For the same price you can camp at a KOA with electric and showers, and that’s what I’d do next time.
