Great little remote spot!! Super fun time. We went when it was POURING rain but it was still a great time with no complaints. I would definitely recommend staying here if you’re visiting Door County and want a little get away!

Great secluded property on the river. It’s wonderfully quiet, except for all the birds chirping. Woke up to deer grazing and took an evening paddle on the river. I highly recommend staying here. About 20 minutes from Sturgeon Bay and easy access to go north and explore Door county.

The campsite was great. There was plenty of room for our group of 11. It was quiet. Most of the land is sloped but there are a few flat spots that work great for a tent. It was great to have the river running right by the camp. We brought some kayaks and had some fun. I have already recommended it to some friends within 2 days. Great spot.

A private, picturesque gem. This site is a MUST rebook for us! The wooded section of this camp site was perfect to escape the morning sun and cozy in the evenings. This location had two fire pits that allow for great flexibility. If both are lit they cast lots of warm campfire light at night. As for the night sky, stars for days. We felt safe and secure at Canopee on the Ahnapee. Our one regret was not getting an opportunity to use the provided kayaks! Next time for sure.
It is perfectly positioned to get us to so many attractions in Door County quickly. We could not have asked for more. David and Jess were responsive and helpful. Hats off!!

My wife and the two dogs loved the property. It was quiet and peaceful. No complaints would stay there again.

Very nice site. Great being right on the water, but is more of an incline to the water than I expected. Also didn’t realize how far the tent spots were from the main fire pit area. Made it a bit inconvenient when the dogs and little ones were ready for bed, but the rest of us weren’t yet.
If you road walk in the area, be aware there are large dogs further down the road that will likely run to the edge of their property. They did not cross the property line, however, even with my dogs barking back.
Overall, very nice site and we had a great time even with a day of rain.

Honestly, the best site in Wisconsin. It’s like the condo of campsites. Very spacious. More than enough space to set up. Beautiful campfire hangout. We brought a large telescope, bocce ball, cornhole, lawn jarts, fishing poles and kayaks and didn’t do any of it in the same spot. Very quiet. Almost like your own island. Perfect.

We loved the site. So many spots to put the tent. Really awesome piece of land. Brought kayaks and paddle boards and it was easy to swim and get in and out of the boats. Super convenient to have the picnics table - we hope to be back! Kiddos had a blast!

The best aspect of the Canopee campsite is the private, wooded setting. Leveling the rv was not difficult. The site had been mowed in all the right places, leaving us free to walk and drive safely. I loved the camp site under the cedars and enjoyed a nice fire there on a cool evening. The location is great for quick site seeing trips and activities in Door County. I like easy access to walking or biking trails, and even though there are none here, the roads are lightly traveled in the early morning and relatively safe. I passed several properties with large aggressive dogs that were unleashed; luckily they must have had an electric fence. I also walked past a large cattle farm nearby that you can smell from the campsite when the wind is right. I saw that cattle farms are pretty common in Wisconsin, so no surprise to find one nearby.

Great spot and hope to return. The Forestville spillage is refilled the scenery is beautiful. Very quiet at night other than the occasional yip of a coyote or some geese taking flight in the morning. During the day other than normal distant sounds of working farms. The description is accurate and there is a house just on the other side of the campground but rest assured it is almost invisible (even in November with less foliage) and we were not bothered by it at all. Amazing night skies, great sunrises, decent sunsets. Definitely recommend.

We had a great time camping here with our pup! You can see the neighbors house through the trees as you drive in but you truly feel like you’re in your own space. Beautiful cedar grove and river views. We will definitely be back!

We had a great time. Beautiful shaded campsite right on the river. It was 90 degrees the weekend we were there, but in the shade of the cedar grove, we were perfectly comfortable. We were able to back in our pop up camper under the tree canopy, perfect fit. We're looking forward to coming back soon. Thank you!

What an awesome spot! This was our first time using Hip Camp, so we weren't sure what to expect. But we had such a positive experience! It was easy to follow the directions to find the spot.
We opted to set up our tent right next to the parking area, overlooking a beautiful view of the river through the trees. Our pups were in heaven, and there was a nice spot to attach their long leads to so they could explore both the grassy area and a bit of the piney area.
We were pleased to have internet signal there (yay!). The only bummer was that it rained nonstop the second day we were there, and apparently the waterproofing on our tent needs to be reinforced, because we wound up being rained out and left a night early. Because of the rain, we didn't explore the property as much as we'd hoped to, but really enjoyed when we got breaks in the rain so we could explore it.
My only critique is that it wasn't super obvious (at least to us) where the property lines were, and there are houses on either side, so we wanted to make sure we stayed where we were supposed to.
Overall, a really cool spot for some solitude and a break from the bumpin' Door County crowds.

We had a lovely time operating on the Hipcamp site as our base camp for our trips into door County. Very spacious area with an awesome fire pit location. View of the river was there but unfortunately the river wasn’t. Possibly due to drought or that there was some construction upstream. Plenty of space for many campsites. Thanks for letting us stay.
