The yurt is a perfect escape. The bed is Queen sized and comfortable and the place was well stocked and clean. The yurt is larger than it looks in the pictures. I highly recommend this site. We would love to return another time.

The coziest little hobbit door welcomed us to the most perfect yurt I've ever stayed in. My girlfriend quickly fell asleep in the comfy cozy bed as I dozed off to the sounds of the wind. We woke up to coffee and then a refreshing shower in an outdoor shower house. It was the most wild and adventurous experience and we loved it! We left with the most amazing parting gift, a sweet CD to listen to on our 5 hour journey home to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. As we were parting from the yurt, we went to take some photos and the handsome huckle, appeared out of nowhere with a ear to ear grin to wish us a fair well. He only requested we toss a few sticks for him before part for adventure.

The yurt was cozy, even though it was cool for April, thanks to an easy to use heater. The unique hand-built features of the yurt add a great feel to the place. The hand-hewn rafters were so much more beautiful than machine made ones. Richard provided easy to follow directions and helpful tips. The short drive into White Salmon is scenic, with great views of both Mt. Adams and Mt. Hood (the top of which you can see from the yurt as well). The three of us enjoyed our stay at the yurt, and enjoyed listening to the music of our hosts Tova and Richard too!

When we accidentally pulled into Richard’s driveway, not the Yurt’s, long past sunset, he pointed us in the right direction with a smile. We loved our short stay in the Yurt. It is the perfect cozy place to stay! Clean, comfortable, and charming.

Fun location—pretty close to White Salmon but you’re still out in the country, nice yurt with comfortable accommodations, cute and user-friendly outhouse situation, lots of fun animal noises at night but nothing earplugs couldn’t handle (which are stocked in a cabinet in the yurt).

This was a perfect, cozy location while we explored the White Salmon, Hood River, Gifford Pinchot area! The yurt was warm with the heater on a night that got down to 50 and I imagine it would be warm at even colder temps - plus, the bedding is fluffy and warm. Well-equipped with cooking supplies and everything was clean - or a 5ish min drive to downtown restaurants. The host was super friendly and helpful. The stars are beautiful at night! Make sure to download directions before going, as I had no cell service with Verizon. There are outlets and electricity. There are so many fun things to do nearby!

A VERY nice yurt with everything one may need to have for a comfortable stay: fan for hotter nights, heater for cooler (I believe, the yurt could be also used in winter when there is plenty of snow around). There is a comping kitchen stove and plenty of dishes and pots to use (don't need to bring your own).
Great people own it and are available to address any problems one might have. Although they live in house that is on the same property, the yurt remains very private for your use.
I loved my and my 12-year old twin girls stay there.

My sister and I loved our stay in Richard’s yurt! He was very kind and we felt well taken care of. It was a bonus that we got to see Richard and his wife perform some live music in town! Highly recommend his yurt for a cozy stay close to White Salmon and lots of hikes!

Very sweet and well-appointed little place to stay. It was very comfortable even in high winds and slightly chilly temps, the outdoor amenities were clear and pleasant to use.

This was such a peaceful place to stay at. The ride across the bridge to and up the mountain to the yurt was absolutely beautiful. There is a $2 toll. Great views with the sun setting driving in. Hood river was a fun town for the evening! Lots of fruit stands in white salmon. I stayed warm in the yurt with no extra heating. You will fall asleep to the sounds of nature and wake up to a rooster. I loved it, but Richard provided ear plugs for those that don't. I was travelling as a solo female and I felt safe. It was a lovely night and morning. Highly recommend (:

Richard was a great host and helped us locate the yurt (very easy to find in the daylight) at night. The yurt was great in July, not too hot surprisingly, the surrounding trees help shade the area. I loved being able to take a warm shower and hang out on the porch surrounding the yurt. Huckle is an amazing dog and was one of the highlights of my stay!

Beautiful location. Quiet. The rooster mentioned in other reviews was not an issue. Other birdsong was louder. Nice view of Mt. Adams from the deck. Could improve ventilation, and make hot water easier. Clearing weeds to see and drive over driveway would have improved our experience . Repair door handle, a piece of the door latch frame came off. Minor improvements to path steps to bathroom would make it much easier to walk around the yurt and bath building.

Lovely yurt is a nice wooded spot. Bed was comfy. Compost toilet/bathroom gets an A+. The drive to town for a delicious meal is easy to do. And when we got a flat tire on our way out Richard was kind enough to take the time to help us out with getting the tire changed. Yes there is a rooster on a neighbor’s property so just bring your ear plugs or noise canceling headphones and you’ll sleep just fine. I highly recommend!

Close to town but feels like you’re in the woods! This yurt is such a cute spot and has so many helpful amenities. The bathhouse is awesome and the yurt is equipped with everything you need. We had a great stay, would love to go back for longer!

We enjoyed our one night in the snowden yurt! We booked last minute and Richard was very communicative with us. Previous reviews are right about the rooster vocalizing early in the morning, and the adjacent intersection had active drivers even very late at night. We still slept soundly and had a cozy time. Highly recommended!

Awesome adorable little yurt. Has all the amenities. Easy to find. The neighbors property has roosters that cockadoodledoo at the wee hours of the night. It made it tough to sleep.

We enjoyed our one-night stay at this cute yurt. The lodging was cozy and had everything we needed. We appreciated being able to warm up with the wood stove and electric heater, as it was a chilly night. Communication with the host (Richard) was great; he was very helpful and responsive.

The Yurt in the fir trees was a fantastic experience. The host has truly put a lot of thought and effort into creating an amazing experience. The yurt was warm, inviting, comfortable. The host leaves detailed information and made the experience truly magical. Sitting on the platform watching the sunset and having a view of the top of Mt. Hood was phenomenal. I could not recommend this yurt more. Thank you!

Yurt In the Fir Trees was such a great experience. Richard was such a great host. The Yurt was clean and super comfortable. It was way up in the mountains. Loved staying there would easily have stayed a week. The bathroom was so great too! Thanks Richard for such a great experience. We will be back!
