The Glendale Farm

We love this place! It has the perfect ‘local’ vibe - warm, friendly, helpful, and gracious people on a beautiful working farm. There is community and privacy in a nice balance, and is perfect for our tent camping- which I like to do to save money when in the area. Even on a stormy weekend (in late October!) I was able to make it work with Seth’s help, and I was very grateful. Yes it is a work in progress, but isn’t everything in life? I feel safe and at home here when I stay. It is our second visit, and it will not be our last.

We had such an excellent experience! Seth is a wonderful host - super accommodating, helpful, and just has a lovely vibe. The farm is interesting and spacious and a close walk to Finn River. If you’re looking for a unique and reasonably priced place to stay, this is well worth consideration.

It’s Important for people looking for a Hipcamp site to know that this is a working farm. We loved it for that reason! It’s a beautiful property and our campsite was near the turkeys and geese. Once again. We loved this and purchased fresh eggs. we camped during pumpkin season and it was really cool to camp right by the pumpkin fields.. Seth is an amazing host. He’s a nice guy who is working to make this property nice for visitors. Everyone staying or working on the property were really nice. The location is walking distance to Finn River Cidery. This was a bonus! I highly recommend this place to people who are not looking for glamping. Thanks Seth. We will be back.

Great Stay!! Highly Recommend!!

Only had a chance to stay 1 night as I was just passing through the area with my Golden Retriever Charlie. Arrived later than expected but the folks there helped me find the spot to setup. Great experience and loved the goats and horses!! Will definitely stay there again if I find myself back in the area!!

This was a great place for us to stay overnight. Very close to Port Townsend. The host was very welcoming and did a thorough job at getting us orientated to the area and the farm. We would definitely stay here again!

This site was exactly as listed. Maybe indicate that music, morning coffee and sammies arenonluniffered during certain times of the year. Place was quiet and close to Finnriver Cidery.

Peaceful, pleasant evening at the f

I had the entire place to myself; it was very peaceful! I enjoyed walking around and through the old barn, looking over a lifetime of accumulated oddities, and the various poultry made an interesting variety of calls throughout the evening (they quieted down after dark.) The portapotty was clean, the gazebo was comfy, and the location was perfect for a overnight while fishing the local salt. Seth was a helpful and pleasant host. Would definitely stay again!

No toilet and hard to work with

Site was littered with trash porta potty hadn’t been serviced in months to the point there ws no fluid in it just a mountain of poop with live mice crawling in and out of it no toilet paper and the host was no help at all not delivering or providing more tp or another restroom until way late into the night I’m talking midnight host was difficult to get ahold of and to work with

Small Bell Tent II

My friend and I had a short but good overnight trip staying on Seth's working farm. Seth was there to greet us when we arrived. Seth is a lovely human and was welcoming and helpful. The farm location is great! Close to Finn River Cidery, the Chimacum Corner Store, and Chimacum Cafe. It is true to the pictures and description online. This is a basic campsite but has some nice perks like a covered gazebo with table and chairs for meals. I also appreciated the hand washing station next to the portable toilet (which was cleaned and regularly serviced) as opposed to only providing hand sanitizer. I hope to be back soon and for a longer trip to do more exploring. It would make for a great base camp to explore the area.

First HipCamp experience. Good location if you have day trips planned but not really a site I want to hang out at all day. Both sites are not level more than enough for a tent. We have a camper and pretty much slept on the side of the road. Minimal road traffic but you are on the side of the road. The campsites are no closer than any USFS campground but it would be cozy of both sites are occupied. Seth was easy to communicate with. 3 stars..

Ole Turkleson Camp Aka Fairy Forest

Amazing time at Ole Turkleson Camp we call the Fairy Forest. There are fairies dressed as hummingbirds that appear on the pocket of sunshine thru the forest canopy. Deer meander above the campsite as red hawk sings and prepares for another flight out over the beautiful organic crops of Glendale. Thank you so much Seth for sharing your heart and soul thru creating community. There is beautiful blanket of wood sorrel also known as nw shamrock which is delicious and bursts with flavor. It grows along the drive so we took care not to run it over.

Overall the grounds has a large amount of garbage and debris that you navigate through without guidance. It’s a beautiful location and proximity with a lot of potential to be a great spot nestled in ag but its current state could use some clean up.

Small Bell Tent

We enjoyed the location, right across the street from Finn River Cidery, and a short drive to Port Townsend. We do not think the word glamping should be used in describing the tent we stayed in or the field we were camping on. The tent was shaped like a yurt but was definitely a tent that had a lot of what seemed like mold on the outside cover and showed through on the inside. The sky and surrounding fields were scenic beautiful farmlands, but the campsite was next to a row of old broken down RV’s and across from a fenced area of birds which included at least one rooster that woke us at 4 am. The gazebo was dilapidated and had upholstered chairs that none of us felt safe to sit on. I feel like I spent way too much money for the experience and would have preferred a more accurate description of the situation. I have never left a bad review and feel guilty doing so, I don’t want to hurt someone’s business. But I also don’t want anyone else to show up expecting glamping and experiencing what we did. I did not meet the host so could not relay this to them in person. I would think twice about using hip camp again, as I feel I was definitely overcharged, oversold and over- promised

We stayed at the silo Simply magical with Miss Owl in the silo and the full moon we got to bathe in. Beautiful memories watching red tail hawk soar in the air. Seth has been an amazing host. We feel welcome and cared for as guests on this sweet organic farm. I wish our puppy was more socialized he could have played with the sweet dog in residence l at the farm. A nice wind blows across the valley, all sorts of birds play and twitter around.

This review is a tough one for me to write, because I can see the effort and potential in the space—but ultimately, our experience didn’t quite match the listing. The location itself was decent and offered a key advantage: enough room for our group and dogs to spread out and make some noise without disturbing anyone. We really appreciated being able to let the dogs roam a bit (while leashed), which isn't something we take for granted. The host was responsive over the phone, which we appreciated, though we never met in person. Communication was generally smooth. That said, the space did not reflect what was advertised. It felt unfinished and in need of significant updates—details that weren’t obvious in the listing photos or description. While I understand that not every place needs to be polished or perfect, the overall condition left us feeling like the price point was just too high for what was actually offered. That said, one of the biggest highlights was the location. Being within walking distance of Finn River Cidery and the Chimacum Farmers Market—and just a short drive from Port Townsend—added a lot of value to the trip. Having such easy access to local food, cider, and the charm of the nearby town gave us some truly enjoyable outings and helped balance some of the disappointment we felt about There’s potential here, and I do believe with more transparency and a bit more work, it could be a great rental. But as it stands now, I wouldn’t return at the current rate.

Seth is such a kind and communicative person. His land is walking distance from Finn river cidery, and was easy to find and fun to share with other campers and the farmers who operate a large scale vegetable farm there. Highly recommended for a cheap, quiet, friendly stay in Chimacum.

Laid Back Farm Stay

An amazingly cozy place to set up camp while on the peninsula. We were welcomed into the field to set up wherever felt comfortable and the dogs were free to roam which they definitely needed and fully appreciated. The sunsets over the meadows full of swallows were a treat. An easy laid back stay with everything we needed in between exploring. Water was available via hose and the toilet was very clean and accessible. I would 100% stay again with these awesome hosts.

Ole Torkelson campground

We enjoyed camping with our dog at this spot. Its not far off the road but is tucked away in the trees. The views of the farm were gorgeous. The highway is just on the other side of the farm from the spot but the noise didn't bother us. The only thing I had mixed feelings about is that this is advertised as other campers could share the space, which I think would be difficult due to the width of the road. We were a little stressed that someone else would be camping next to us but no one did. Other than that I think it was a good stay. The portapotty was super clean and the grounds well maintained. Seth was easy to reach and very responsive. We loved how close to Finnriver and the farmers market we were. We did find some trash from previous campers but picked it up. There was no fire pit set in place, so we cleared a safe spot for a fire.

We ended up staying at the Silo site which is not far from the Gazebo site. Seth warmly greeted us on arrival and the Silo made the site easy to find. He showed us around the site, the amenities, and provided lots of local recommendations. The silo site is large and can fit multiple parties of campers. For us privacy was not an issue however as there was ample space and all other campers were very respectful. We did well by bringing our own camp kitchen setup but there was the opportunity to have a fire in the fire pit as well as a picnic table to eat at. Overall the spot seems great for larger parties as there is ample space. Also the dogs in our group enjoyed the space and playing with Seth’s dog. Very beautiful, peaceful land a short walk away from the Finnriver Cidery and Chimacum Farmstand which are both excellent. Seth and company are doing a great job restoring the land we were really happy to get the opportunity to stay here.

We had a positive experience at Glendale Farm. It was our first time doing Hipcamp, primarily for the opportunity to have our dog somewhere off-leash, and we were not disappointed. Our dog got to hang out with the resident pooch, and not be stuck on a lead. The scenery was nice and the site was conveniently located. We would have liked to have had more time to explore the property. If you go, say "hi" to the barn owl that lives in the silo.
