This place is nothing like the description. We chose his place because they accepted dogs. Upon our arrival five minutes in the host dogs started attacking our dog. Our dog is a trained service animal. Her pets Wander the property attacking every other dog. Jumping on the children. Rummaging your campsite at night while you’re asleep. Which is not a campsite is a mold spot next to a mobile home in the yard nothing like the photos. No privacy. The most horrible experience we left two days early. Luckily we found a nearby campsite and had somewhat of a good time. I asked this lady several times to take care of her dogs she never did. Our dog is still injured. If I were you I would not pay $1200 to babysit someone else’s dogs ! This was a horrible experience! From the nightmare of a out house to camping in someone’s side yard .

Beds were tiny and dirty. One sleeping area was not waterproofed. Camper is advertised to sleep six but us four full-sized adults felt very crammed in. Place is advertised to be on a farm but the only animals are a few very sweet dogs and chickens (larger animals are shown in pictures but hosts no longer has them). This was somewhat disappointing cuz we were attracted to the idea of all the animals. We booked for two nights but left after one (no refund was offered). Wouldn't recommend this RV experience for all these reasons, including price is way too high for what you get. The other RV for rent on the property (Funny Farm 1) which only cost marginally more was way bigger and more modern so if you're going to go there rent that one.

Didn’t actually stay. Felt a little uncomfortable when we arrived ( little less of a farm that I intended) and when I called the phone number listed I got no answer. We opted to stay down the street instead.

Really enjoyed our stay! RV was comfortable for a family of 4. Dena was a great hosts and her dogs were great company.
The outhouse was about as clean and tolerable as a outhouse can be. It was so nice to have the RV bathroom for the evenings.
We spent most of our time at Lake Crescent, which was a relatively short, scenic drive. Close to Port Angeles too.

We had a great stay here. Really beautiful grassy fields. The host was friendly and helpful. The dogs were so nice as well!

The pasture area was lovely and private for our big group. Our host was kind and helpful. I am glad she had space for us last minute. We were minutes from Salt Creek and the amazing tide pools which was the reason for our journey.

My stay with Dena was just what my friends and I were looking for! Her dogs were very social and friendly and the outhouse setup was fantastic- open air so it didn't smell and curtains for privacy.

Dena was very welcoming when we met her, we had already set up camp right near the entrance but there is a whole other 6 acres to explore for sites! We had a low clearance vehicle so didn’t want to risk it but for anyone else a bit more adventurous, it would be worth checking out the whole property.
Lovely camp dogs, lovely backyard communal camping area shared with a couple RV’s and a big fire place.

My girlfriend's and I had a great weekend at the Funny Farm Joyce WA. Ample privacy, very sweet dogs, running water, and an excellent fire pit(s)! We'll definitely re-book when staying in the area.

Very peaceful. Because of my mobility issues, Dena set me up in the front trailer since the back one was harder to get around. She went above and beyond to accommodate my needs. Very clean. You must like over friendly dogs and don't mind chickens esp. if the decide to roost on your vehicle

It was a wonderful property. Absolutely loved the fire pit and the option to stay most anywhere on the property. I was a very rainy day and it was nice that there was a canopy to set up our tent other.
Now, here is where it goes downhill. They have 2 very sweet dogs. Not an issue. It was raining pretty hard and the dogs had no other cover on the property aside from 1 tiny dog igloo that would barely fit one of the dogs.
The entire time, they were hoarding in our area, being very intrusive as dogs can be. They were soaked and getting my buddy and myself all wet and muddy. We tried shooing them away to no avail. And then they started mating. Like locked to each other kind of mating.
Eating peacefully was completely out of the question. Both dogs acted as if they hadn't eaten in days. Would no go away and were trying to get into our food, begging incessantly, causing a very uncomfortable and extremeluy annoying evening.
That's not the last of it tho. We didn't mind the rain or the cold. We expected that. When we crawled into our tent to get some rest before having to wake in the morning, guess who was attached to our hips like they have never received an ounce of love/attention in their lives. Yes, the dogs....
All night long, all night, they kept patrolling our tent, scratching to get in on all sides, and went on for hours. As soon as we'd fall asleep, they would clearly let us know they wanted to join us in our water proof and dry tent.
We sure as hell booked it out of there the moment we woke up about 6am. Did not want to have any interaction with the host or her dogs.
We made absolute sure to gather every item we brought and left no mess whatsoever.
Honestly, i would rather have found a spot randomly in the woods or slept in the car.

Great spot. We were going to have more than the listed amount of people allowed and she set us up with no hassle in the bigger trailer. Lots of do in surrounding area with lots of hiking and backpacking options. Owner had a hiking trail magazine for us with all the info we needed. Animals on the farm very friendly the dogs sat with us by the fire each night. Roosters got us up and going in the mornings. Site was clean they had wood and fire pit set up for us when we arrived. Trailer had television with roku set up and running water. Beds were comfortable make sure you bring a pillow and sleeping bag though. Also had a fridge and she had a portable stovetop with 2 mini propane tanks set up for us too. Fresh towels and soap left for us in shower cupboard. Everything was made easy and seamless! Cooked and had great fires each night and were even told to be louder and party all we liked!

We live in a small apartment in the city that isn't conducive to animals. So, a weekend retreat to this play farm was a family-friendly balm. Our 6-year-old had a blast chasing after the chickens, loving on the affectionate dogs, and petting the tranquil ponies. There were several camping spots to choose from and we appreciated the tables with lanterns at each spot. The community firepit is big and round enough that various campers could join while still social distancing. The host was kind and accommodating.
Although we had a good time in the animal friendly-environment, people who don't like roosters crowing at 7am or dogs that crave affection and attention might want to look elsewhere.

I really appreciated Dena taking the time to meet me in person before setting up camp. The Funny Farm moniker fits - if you enjoy entertaining inquisitive chickens and dogs, you'll love it here.
The potable water tasted very noticeably of sulfur, though, and I had to dilute it with the gallon I picked up from the store just to drink it.

Nice and relaxing, I got the spot in the back by the horse pasture and it felt private and quiet. The dog is super cute and the chickens are fun!

As another review stated, it's not for everyone. The best part of the stay was Tanner, a Very Very Good Dog. He did, however, randomly bark until about 1230am. I texted the owner with no response. He did seem to have a bark collar on in the morning tho...? The free roaming roosters woke us up at about 5am, crowing literally NEXT TO our tent. Chickens are great and all, but roosters waking us up at the crack of dawn = bad news for a mom with kids. The "outhouse" is a little out building over a pit, with a raised toilet seat over it, but there is no barrier between the raised seat and pit so you inevitably pee on your legs and/or feet. Also the door is a screen door that people can look into while you are in there. A little curtain would be helpful. I never saw the host, only her tenant. You basically camp in her side yard. The fire pit area is nice with wood and skewers, etc. We booked for 2 nights but only stayed one.

Campers and their cars all crammed in a relatively small yard around the host’s mobile home. Assorted crap thrown in ( smashed plastic pool, functioning plastic pool for chickens, cheap swing set, etc. lots of chickens, which were entertaining to watch, except for the serious crowing that started at 4:30 am. Only a few hours after the lovable, but very noisy dog stopped barking. It wasn’t constant barking, he would wait until you were drifting off to sleep again before he started barking at a raccoon or deer or something. Which he did for hours. The hostess was very nice for the 10 minutes she was there. She came back home at around 1am, which would be fine if you weren’t camping next to her driveway.

Beautiful property with wild plants and flowers to enjoy. The horses, and dogs were all sweet and friendly And the chickens were fun to watch as they cavort around different parts of the property. Camper was comfortable and had all the basics , including a two different types of coffee makers. The host was kind ,welcoming , and helpful. The camper and grounds were clean and had sanitizer and disinfecting wipes in all communal areas as well as in our camper and all areas followed social distancing guidelines, making me feel at ease and more able to relax and enjoy our time in nature.
So happy the host told us about Salt Creek Recreational area! It was incredibly gorgeous and we went there twice as it was so close.
We will come back here again for a group camping trip!

Our experience at the Funny Farm was a bit of special case that I don't think most people who choose to visit will (hopefully) experience.
Upon arrival we were told by the host that we could spread out and camp wherever we wanted to, which sounded nice, but when we looked around there were only a few real options, mostly just in the areas around host's house. There was some construction going on elsewhere on the property, and I presume that were this not happening, we would have been able to camp there (and had a little more privacy).
Other items unique to us: host's dogs were VERY attentive to us. This wouldn't have been a problem had we not brought our dog too. Host's dogs eventually got so excited and riled up that we had a small dog fight and our dog was bit twice. This just didn't seem reasonable, so we put our dog in the car after that. These being farm dogs, they are used to roaming the property, and we get that, but we didn't find them to be friendly.
Also on the dogs: one of them barked from about 12-midnight to about 3am, all around the yard and often near to our tent. Again, these are farm dogs, so in a way I understood that this dog was probably used to barking at whatever he heard. But, to my knowledge, this wasn't called out to us in host's description of property. It would have been nice if host had taken action much sooner than 3am.
The rest of our party included 4 more adults, two kids and two other dogs, and we didn't feel this was the right place for us (mostly because we didn't want the kids waking up, and we were concerned about the other dogs and host's dogs).

I've been staying at hipcamp locations for the last few months now and Dena was by far the most gracious host I've had to date. I was teaching a class in the area and she made myself and all of my students feel very at home for a couple of nights. We'll be staying with her again during our next class.

Very nice host with chikens, ducks and dogs running around the yard. Campsites are in the front yard right infront of the house. There is also consturction going on next to the camp sites. Campsites are not marked and it’s first comes, first servce. If there is 8 camps in the places, all the camps would be back to back. They let us use the water in the outside but it’s cloudy and heavy with sulfur odor. Recommend to bring your own water. No shower available outside. You will have to go into host’s home. Great firepit and plenty of chairs.
