Absolutely beautiful location and we really loved it! It was so fun to canoe and paddleboard on the water in the late afternoon when the tide was high.

Beautiful spot to spend a couple of nights. We hiked in and out twice so we could bring our blow up paddle boards. The hike is short, about 15 mins, but muddy and rocky. It's so fun to watch the tide come in and get on the water before sundown. Will definitely be back!

If you’re looking for a private getaway on the water, this is the spot. The views from this campsite are beautiful. Doesn’t get much better than watching the sun set over the San Juans. Overall, we had great experience here, and our dog loved hanging out off leash.
The host was very helpful in coordinating our arrival time with the tides. They led us to the campsite, and the walk in was quick but did require some careful steps along the rocks and mud. As others mentioned, wear shoes or boots you don’t mind getting dirty. There were wasps along the path and near the fire ring, but the host sprayed them when we got there and left the spray for us to use. They gave us a new lighter and new cans of butane for the camp stove there. We appreciated the canoe on site, and we used it to bring out our inflatable paddle boards.
Note that there is no toilet at the campsite. There was a porta potty near the road along the train tracks that’s accessible during low tide or via canoe during high tide.

Lovely spot to camp! We had the best time paddling around during high tide and swimming in the water during sunset. It was a great place to relax for a few days.

This is the perfect location for someone who wants to enjoy great ocean and sunset views and have a good camping experience. Be prepared to deal with the tides as there are only certain timing when the tides are low and you can walk to and from the site. The experience is totally worth it!

Tony’s place is really a treat for private camping. The hike in is a little rocky and make sure you wear boots that you don’t mind getting wet and muddy. The view is spectacular and we loved our evening swims in the warm water with the tide came up. There were already comfy chairs but we brought our own sleeping pads and slept soundly. Campfires and card games at night were perfect and we will definitely be back.

Once in a lifetime experience!! Fell asleep listening to the waves and an owl. Took the canoe to get some oysters and got to se the seals up close. BRING RUBBER BOOTS! Im stubborn and didn’t I think I needed them. My shoes felt like suction cups in slippery mud.

Beautiful campsite & Tony was great guiding us there & set up!
Was good for a family getaway and is in a great location! Only thing is to make sure of is to have the right footwear for the hike in! It can get quite muddy and there are a lot of rocks so my hiking sandals did not do so great - definitely would recommend sneakers or boots!

My girlfriends and I had the most magical couple days at Chuckanut! Tony was very helpful and friendly! The campsite had chairs, tables, and some cooking equipment we used. Beautiful sunsets and the water was even warm enough to swim!

Great little spot. Incredibly private. Fun to hear/watch various freight trains pass in the distance. We put our air mattress directly on the ground and slept without a tent. Dogs loved it. We left a blow up floaty ring for the water when tide is high. Warm water due to shallows. Tie the tube with the ample rope lying around bc the current will want to drag you south. Tony was so kind as to walk us in with a backpack full of wood. Fun trek. 10/10

We loved camping here Ski to Sea Weekend! We used our Ocean kayaks & canoe to transport ourselves, dog & some supplies during high tides. And most of the time we were able to scoot around the edge of Chuckanut rock a couple of hours after peak tide. The Breadfarm is a 10 min drive from the campsite... best pastries & bread ever!! 5 min walk to Taylor Shellfish - what a NW gem! Tony was very accessible when we needed anything! We hope to return again soon.

Wow. Just wow.
As already mentioned Tony is a stellar host. We loved the privacy and also the adventure of racing tides on foot and canoeing back to our cars at high tide to grab more stuff.
Absolutely our families favorite spot we’ve found for our annual camping trip. My dogs absolute favorite place, too. So nice for him to be so free and off leash - as Tony said “ let him go… where’s he gonna go?”

This is a magical spot on Chuckanut Bay! My friends and I loved camping here. Tony arranged for his stepson to meet us at the parking spot and hike into the camp during low tide. Be sure to wear rubber boots, the seaweed and mud is slippery and sticky - stay close to the shore for easier walking. Trekking poles also helped. The camp has most of what you'll need, we brought in food and water, extra TP and garbage bags, sleeping bags and pads, Clorox wipes to clean up the kitchen area, and body wipes to clean our hands and faces. We loved exploring the beach during low tide and swimming and canoeing during high tide. We'll definitely be back!

Due to forces of nature outside of our control, we unfortunately weren't able to stay at the site, but greatly appreciated Dusty & Tony trying to make an alternative plan work. They were accommodating and flexible, and we had a great time hanging out with Dusty who hiked us in and out. Looked like an awesome spot though and we will definitely return another time to enjoy the site in all of its glory.

Amazing sunsets, perfect selection of gear to round out our camping experience. It's all open air, so you'll want to spend your first half hour or so shaking out chairs & pads, sweeping & wiping off surfaces from little "visitors." There is no way to avoid this in an outdoor kitchen! Cleaning supplies are on site, so set yourself up to really enjoy this unique & secluded treasure of a spot.

What a gorgeous and amazing site! So special with the tides, water, sun and trees. Extremely peaceful and quiet. The perfect place to really decompress and meditate on life, once settled. Great to go out and paddle with your own watercraft, or the helpfully provided canoe, during high tide. Dusty was incredibly helpful and accommodating following a misunderstanding and time crunch with initially getting out to the site, and made sure all my needs were met. Overall, a great experience and I plan to return in the future!

We had a great time camping at Chuckanut Rock. Tony was very easy to communicate with and coordinate details for getting to the site. He met me and guided to the camp spot and the walk in was quick and easy. I wore boots and the mud wasn't bad. The camp spot was gorgeous and our group had a blast spending the weekend there. There are quite a few supplies already at the site which makes it easy for lugging less stuff in. Would definitely stay here again!

Things you will want to bring that aren’t necessarily mentioned: a lantern & headlamp as it gets fairly dark at night, possibly 3 double a batteries (for the light string that’s wrapped around the beam, if it works), sanitizing wipes as you will want to wipe down tables or possible anything else in the shelter.
Tony was awesome to hike us in and give us some info! He was a fun guy. We brought all of our backpacking gear and also hauled in at the same time a cooler with a strap. We made backpacking meals as well as some fresh meals on the camp stove as well as over the fire. We were glad we brought out pads to add extra comfort as we opted to sleep in the shelter. The water was surprisingly warm and we packed our floaties for just this hope! When we became waterlocked for one night my bf paddled us out in Tony’s canoe to have drinks over at Taylor shellfish. Make sure to check the times as the grill was closed by the time we got there, not that we are shellfish people or that they offer anything much different. Be ready for beautiful sunsets and ready to relax!
An idea for suggestion is to leave a duster along with paper towels for the cleaning supplies. We like the ability to tidy up and always leave things clean for the next person.
Overall it was a great scenic stay and I will be back at some point!

Absolutely LOVED our camping adventure on Chuckanut.
A few things we wish we had known were at the site (so we didn't pack em): two burner stove with fuel (in addition to grate that goes on fire pit); pots and pans; soap; hand sanitizer; lighters; bucket with liners for carrying out your #2s; lanterns; and the platform beds have pretty decent foam cushions - we didn't use our sleeping pads!
Swimming was super fun and definitely a muddy, walk-out-far to submerge situation. Loved it though.
We even took the canoe out for a stroll when the tide came up enough for less muddy muckin'.
Really can't wait to go back. Thank you so much, Tony!

The location was so private and stunning. The trek out to the spot made it an adventure we’ll never forget. When the tide was low we walked right to Taylor Shellfish for a beautiful and delicious lunch right on the beach. We loved using the canoe and falling asleep to the sound of the water right by us. A perfect spot that we hope to visit again.

Such a great time was had! There have been lots of great reviews about this place. I guess as long as you're prepared you'll be fine. I will note that the train runs right near the rock and you will hear it round the clock just FYI it didn't bother us to much but might others. The only thing is that on our last night right at sunset 2 people came out on the rocks near our camp (during high tide as well) scared the crap out of us and our dogs. Maybe some more private property signs should be posted? This is such a secluded and beautiful place and it's unfortunate others feel they can just show up there. The spot is great and aside from that happening was completely private. There is a propane stove with propane so that was helpful. I can't wait to visit this place again
