Earn this patch by being the first to spend a night outside at a new Hipcamp.
Nomadic camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Just outside of town, but a world away. Located just up the road from the popular Penrose Point State Park, only 1,000 feet from the freshwater of Bay Lake, and 2,000 feet from Lakebay Marina (currently closed for remodeling), this carefully cultivated paradise is bordered by protected wetlands and just one occupied residence. The property is ringed by towering pines, home to countless birds, including visits from a local pair of bald eagles. The entrance to the property is at the street, marked with a small sign that says “810” and two toy plastic golf clubs. The adjacent entrance with a chain across it is not our entrance.Pull your roof-top tent or camper van into this hidden getaway and wake up to tranquility in the trees. Any standard adventure rig can find the right angle with a bit of multi-point maneuvers, and smaller vehicles can drive around our little Isle of Tree in the middle.
