What an amazing place! Beautiful lush trees and surrounded by delicious blackberry bushes. Our dogs could roam free and run all over. So nice to be in a secluded spot and not worry about anyone coming into camp. There was a Weber BBQ, small rock fire ring, 2 large trash bins (bring 30 gallon bags), wood picnic table and a fun bus to take photos of. The stream is a short walk and great place for the dogs to play. The trains are close by and run throughout the day and night, but it didn’t bother us or the dogs a bit. Love this spot!

The hosts are lovely and responded promptly to our needs. The site is very secluded which was AWESOME. Unfortunately, the path to the riverfront was really overgrown and difficult to both find and traverse. But it is a great little spot on the river.
The listing also notes that they have a porta potty - which is true - but campers show know that it is a vault toilet. It is a porta potty shell with the bottom of the potty cut out and positioned over a deep hole. It's fine, but also not what we were expecting. Overall, worth checking out.

The place has potential, but needs some work. We knew the trains would be close to the site when we booked, but it was a little too close for my young kids to sleep through. There was no easy to see way to access the river. Just not really worth the price for what you get. Seems like it would be an ideal spot for party people though.

We enjoyed our stay at this peaceful spot and will definitely return when it’s warmer so we can play in the little river. It was easy to find and there’s plenty of room to throw a ball for my pup. No other people were around - perfect private getaway!

This was perfect for our group of 7 and are seriously considering booking again. There is so much room, tents can be spread out so far. The trains didn’t bother us one bit, we are used to louder trains in the city. The conductors rarely used their horn and if they did it was further away from the campsite. The sound of the trains were actually very calming and made our camping experience just a little cooler. We took a day trip to McMenamins in Centralia, it was about 15 mins away. Definitely recommend that if you want to explore the area. We played our music loud, used our generator and laughed a lot without having to worry about other campers. Amazing weekend!

We had a great time at this hip camp! The property is beautiful and the camping area is surrounded by trees, with the river bank on side so it feels nice and private. river access with a gravel bar was just a couple minute walk on an easy trail. We loved fishing and playing in the river with the dogs all weekend. Would definitely come back! The host was very nice and gave great directions and quickly addressed any questions I had leading up to the trip about the site.

Very private beautiful place. Short walk to nice little beach. It is very close to the train which was the only downfall. Bring earplugs. Our dog enjoyed a very large open area to explore.

This camping spot is ideal for larger groups or folks that want lots of privacy. It was great for my group of queer friends. The trains are quite frequent (every 15-30 min) about two blocks away, loud enough that you have to talk quite loud over them. It didn’t bother me, but some members of our group had a hard time falling/staying asleep.

Cant believe when i drove up to site there were 5 tents set up, 8 people sitting around burning campfire in 90 degree weather with statewide burn ban on. 3 dogs running around. Dog poop in campsite. My camp partner had poop on her shoes, tracked into her car and into her tent. Owner/host was person camped in site and said to me "did u just schedule, i thought we had these days marked out". Even tho i had scheduled and been confirmed 3 weeks ago and had been sending/receiving messages via hipcamp app ..WTH? Waterfront is about 100 yds down a trail with a steep 3-4' drop to the water. Trains passed day and night some shaking the ground when i was in the tent. The outhouse needed fir needles and dirt to be swept out and garbage around in there picked up.
Hopefully this was not the norm for this camp. Needless to say, i wont be staying here again. Not new to hip camp stays.

We had a great time camping. 6 adults 6 kids. So nice to have a big private area! Happy to have the kids wander without too much danger.
Trains at night weren’t a huge deal to everyone except one person.
We couldn’t really find a spot to walk to and access the river.

The is was the perfect spot for what I look for when camping. Lots of room for the dogs to run and play, plenty of room for a couple of tents by the trailer. Very quiet and remote. Lots of birds and frogs to sing you to sleep. It is right by the train tracks but I really loved listening to the trains go by. We will be back!!!

Had a great weekend. Very secluded and private. Trains are active but didn't bother us at all. Was able to get into the river for a soak which was a bonus. Spent some time exploring old town Centralia which is only a 15min drive. Cool shops and plenty of food options. Ashley was very responsive to a couple of texts I sent. Beautiful property. We'll be back.

We had a lovely time staying here. We had 9 adults and 3 kids and there was plenty of space for each group to spread out and have privacy but mingle in the common area. The path to the water was overgrown which made it hard to find where to go but the kids loved the adventure of blazing a trail and finding the “secret swim spot”. Based on prior reviews I was aware that there were trains that passed by, they do pass by more frequently than expected but after a day or so you can tone them out and it was fun to take the kids to wave at the conductors. We will definitely come back for future family trips or even smaller camping groups would enjoy this site.

TLDR - Beautiful piece of property - spacious, private, and serene! Very accommodating and communicative host (Ashley)! Highly recommend!
Full review - we loved it! For our annual motorcycle group camping trip, the 7 of us had no issues setting up camp with enough room between moto/tent combos. Enveloped by trees but with plenty of sunlight and summer winds blowing through.
The fire ring is big and ordering bundles of wood straight from the host makes for such convenience. The port-o-potty is what you would expect.
The lack of potable water wasn't an issue once we took our gallon jugs and filled them up from the Skookumchuck river, adjacent to the site. Not sure you can drink with it, but it makes for helpful cleanup. The river is calming. A little tricky to access - hop down a 3 foot drop, but worth it to stand in the shallow current and enjoy.
Some things to consider...
Barf & Rally. There are two large farm dogs that enjoy paying visits, lounging about our campsite, and protect us from what we imagine are the evils that lurk through the night. That being said, they do bark through the night. We didn't mind because they were both so friendly and charming!
The trains. Whether Amtrak or freight, trains go by and they go by often. But don't forget, you can be equally loud and no one is around to complain.
We will definitely find ourselves back on this site. Absolutely thrilled to have found it.

This was a very relaxing trip. I was nervous about the directions, but it was easy to find. It was beautiful, and I really loved having so much space to walk around. There were a lot of good flat places for tents. Also, there aren't any logs, big sticks, or rocks between the tents and the outhouse so it was easy to get there at night. (There were lots of little sticks, though. I would recommend having some closed-toe shoes.)
There was just a little miscommunication with the auto-generated message I got from them at first. I thought I would get the lock combo 24 hours before and that check-in time was 2. It turns out that they send the code the day of, a few hours before. Also, check-in time was an hour later than I thought. These were the only minor issues, though.
As others have said, there are trains that go by so it would not be good for light sleepers, but I actually enjoyed the sound.
I had a great time and would definitely go back.

Ashley’s campsite is amazing. It is so relaxing and secluded. There is plenty to do there as well. There are lots of trains passing by all the time. Some even stop on the tracks so another train can pass. It makes for some interesting sounds. Swimming in the Skookumchuck river is brisk and refreshing!!! There are even fun wildlife to find there at the bank. She has so much land to wander and if you are up to it the tracks will take you to the small town of Bucoda where there is a convenience store, a tavern and the smallest post office ever lol. All about 20-30 minutes walk. If you’re feeling energetic or ambitious you can venture the tracks heading west and make it to Centralia in about two hours. All of our kids and puppies were in love with this location and we will be back for sure!!!

This was a nice secluded place to camp. This was our first time here and it was just the two of us and our two dogs. However, there are houses on the other side of the river and you could periodically hear kids, dogs and people, but this didn't bother us or the dogs. The only real distraction was the trains that passed by, there were a lot of them, but we didn't really care about that. This is a great place to camp and be able to let the dogs off the leash. Already planning another trip back here with some friends.

This camp is secluded and private. There is tons of space and easy access to the river. Would be great for large groups or solo campers alike. There are train tracks that abut the property. The tracks are more active at night which may sound concerning but it’s actually soothing and after coming home you’ll miss the familiar sound. We’ve been back twice and looking forward to our next visit.

This is a great site for small and large groups. You are secluded and have a lot of room. Took us a little bit to figure out how to get down to the river. Once we did though, it was great, easy access. I had thought a couple of items had been left behind and the host was super nice about it and went to check if my items were there. I really appreciate that. Do follow the directions to the site exactly as they are written. We had some difficulty with the locked gate, but got it.
