Thank you all for 2025!!! If the ground is not frozen, reach out! I may be able to book you in. Stay in our cabin at the estuary on Turners Bay where wildlife is abundant and easy to see. The Bamboo cabin is very private and has everything you need to just hang out. Saltgrass's location allows for many fun outdoor activities such as hiking at Kukutali Preserve State Park, crabbing, fishing, birding, bicycling and playing on the beach, my kids actually found a bottle with a message inside years ago. Alternatively, you could explore the many little shops in the towns of La Conner and Anacortes. There are multiple activities available, I would suggest calling ahead in order to book kayaking, rock climbing, whale watching, or a sailing charter. You could easily take a day trip to the San Juan Islands by taking a ferry ride out of Anacortes, walk on or book ahead if you are taking your car. Also, the Swinomish Casino and golf course are within two miles. While you're here you may meet our pup Turner, we also have two cats and several chickens. On the property are your hosts Jeri and Nancy, as well as our handyman Shawn, Saltgrass boasts beautiful flowers, vegetable gardens, fruit trees, and yes, the Bay. We try to live harmoniously with the land. We would love to share our space with you! Due to potential freezing weather and vulnerable water pipes, we have changed our booking to making a reservation confirmation. It has been a wonderful summer for us here at Saltgrass, meeting new people and welcoming back our repeat guests. We thank you all for visiting our place and hope we meet your expectations. October 10 2025, A new addition to the bamboo cabin; we built gates that allow you to secure the deck as an outside space for your dog. Our property has hosted many events, such as weddings, family reunions, company picnics, a music festival, and life celebrations. If you are interested, please let us know. Open all year round! This very private small (210sq ft +loft) cabin is nestled in the bamboo. It sits above the tide flats with a wraparound deck. The wall facing the beach is almost all windows with a long view of the bay. There is a new heat and air conditioning unit. There is also a full kitchen, with hot and cold water, a sink, a new four-burner propane stove with oven. A refrigerator, coffee pot and a toaster. A queen Murphy bed with bedding and a twin loft with mattress, sheets and blankets provided. An adjoining private bathroom with shower, shampoo, soap, towels and a compost toilet. Surrounded by beach, bamboo and our gardens, a wonderful place to relax.

Bamboo Cabin
The cabin is such a calm, cozy, and beautiful space. This location is close to so many attractions, including the view from the cabin along the water. I enjoyed getting to meet Turner and watch the birds from the cabin. While staying at the cabin, the temps dropped to the thirty’s but it was still so warm inside! 10/10 stay

Beautiful setting on an estuary, the host was very accommodating of our late arrival, met us as we arrived and graciously escorted us to the cabin. The cabin was clean warm and comfortable. Plan to return for another visit.

The property and cabin were stunning!! We really enjoyed our stay here. Nancy was so sweet and even let us borrow some rain boots so we could explore near the water. The space felt very secluded and was a much needed break from the city, we were able to fully relax and decompress for the weekend. The space and bathroom were clean and there was a lot of thought and detail put in so we had everything we needed to be comfortable and warm. Would absolutely stay here again!

The cabin was warm and cozy with gorgeous views of the tides and birds. Nancy is a wonderful host, making sure you have everything you need and generously sharing the property grounds. My pup, Luna, had a blast running and swimming with their sweet pup, Turner. I highly recommend this stay when you need to disconnect from your worries and reconnect with nature. Thank you for the use of the galoshes!

Nancy and Jeri's cabin was the perfect staycation for us. A wonderful place to relax, wake up to the tide, and decompress. It's convenient for exploring Anacortes and nearby towns. Their sweet boy Turner was such a gentleman to our Mango 🐶 Thanks again for the warm hospitality!

Wow! Such a unique spot. Definitely want to return in the summer! This small cabin has all you need, and very cute. The unique location, eagles and waterfowl and a cool dog named Turner really add to the experience. Our pugs loved the place!

This place had everything I needed for a cozy retreat and a much-needed refuge from the burnout of work and life stress. The dog tucker was the absolutely sweetest companion who would come to hang out and check on me. I'm recommending this to anyone suffering in need of a reset and recharge.

My wife and I had such a relaxing time at the bamboo cabin. Listening to the rain beat on the roof while bird song filled the air was just what we needed. The bed was so comfy, and location is a short drive to La Conner for cute shops and restaurants. Nancy is a gracious and lovely host, highly recommend to anyone looking to recharge and reconnect with nature!

Nancy and Gerri’s cabin is so comfy and cozy. This is our 3rd visit and we will most certainly be back again and again. We told Nancy that we were bringing our puppy and Nancy and Gerri constructed some beautiful wooden gates for the porch to keep our puppy safe! This property is a gem and Nancy and Gerri are the real treasure! Highly recommend!!!

This location is so relaxing. We loved being able to let our dogs run free and they were so happy. Owners were very friendly and helpful! Would definitely return again and recommend to anyone that wants a short little getaway.

Nancy's cabin was a wonderful place to stay for a weekend getaway in Anacortes! It has great views and the cabin is well laid out for the space. Our hosts were warm and welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed to ensure we had a pleasant stay. Their dog Turner is adorable and also checked in on us regularly to see if we had any sticks to throw. I would stay here again and recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area.

Me, my husband, toddler, and two pups stayed here for a peaceful weekend away for our wedding anniversary. We enjoyed our time here so much that we’re already planning a return trip. Nancy, Jeri, and Turner were the most gracious, welcoming hosts! My pups loved having the space to run around and explore. My daughter loved exploring on the beach, through the garden, and looking at the chickens. We could not have asked for a more beautiful location, with a thoughtfully designed cabin with a full kitchen and bathroom.

What an absolute gem! A delightful little cabin tucked away in nature that is a sanctuary all to itself. Surrounding by beautiful, peaceful nature in an estuary setting that is full of wild love and waterways that never cease to delight. We spent hours watching the birds and crabs and sitting in the saltgrass simply recharging. The hosts were fantastic, extremely helpful and communicative and all the amenities one could need were provided. 10/10 recommend.

We had the most magical time at Nacy’s cabin. Bed is comfy, kitchen is functional. Our puppy Finn played with her puppy Turner, it was so cute. The scenery is stunning- perfect for a relaxing summer weekend. We plan on going back!

We had an absolutely wonderful and relaxing time at Nancy’s property. Very quiet with great views. The cabin is in a great location to explore the nearby towns as well as the North Cascades National Park. Would recommend!!

Nancy’s cabin is very relaxing, clean, comfortable, and well-stocked. We really enjoyed spending a couple nights hanging out on the deck, reading, watching birds, and playing with our dog. Caught up on some much-needed sleep and time in nature.

OK just start off. I picked this place very quickly and end up being pure magic.. I ended up doing a solo trip with my two dogs brought some food and a bottle of wine. I slept good. I read half of a book. Enjoyed the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. This place is perfect.! I recommend if you like to disconnect! It’s perfect. Nancy hit your partner happy birthday. I love your place. Also I will be back.❤️

Nancy and Turner provided for another lovely weekend! The Bamboo cabin is cozy and welcoming as always. This was our 2nd time and we will be back again! Comfy spot right on the bay. Birds everywhere! Nancy and Turner are super friendly and welcoming as always. Nancy’s garden is in full bloom of color and Turner is always a welcome playful friend to our son! Love this place! Highly recommend!

Peaceful, authentic, comfortable

What a peaceful place. Welcoming to us and to our two dogs. Nancy has created a beautiful little shangri-la. She was so welcoming, kind and informative. We enjoyed sitting on the porch, playing board games, and watching the tide come in. So quiet at night. And close to town. We definitely would like to make this a yearly vacation spot

My friends and I all enjoyed our stay at Nancy's. The cabin and backyard was breathtaking. We loved it so much that we did not want to leave. The cabin was spacious. We were all hesitant about the compost toilet but it proved us wrong. There was no smell at all. Nancy was very fast with communication. 10/10 will go visit again

Had such a relaxing stay here! The cabin was clean and cozy with big windows that looked out over some gorgeous wetlands, and the host was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The location was great as well -- very secluded and quiet with a lot of privacy, while also still being close enough to town that it only took a few minutes' drive to get there. Would absolutely recommend!

This was my second visit to the cabin and I had a wonderful time. The cabin is well equipped, cozy, and comfortable. Lots of birds to listen to and watch fly around. So many humming birds! The cabin is also conveniently located for trips all around Deception Pass and Anacortes.
